Disappointed in the advanced social listening.

  • July 24, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Sentiment analyzer is probably the only feature that is really useable at this point.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel like overall listening is severely lacking. "Potential Impressions" are a vanity metric that is basically unusable in the platform — I am getting posts that rank in the top of potential impressions that only get 13 real impressions. This is a major issue for both X and Reddit.

Engagements on "messages" are regularly inaccurate. The X data is pretty delayed as well. For example, we had a Fortune article go out today and I still didn't see the post or article in Sprout even an hour after it was posted. I would think that based on how you measure "potential impressions" that this would be at the top of the messages for the day.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My hope was that it solved my social listening problem, being able to unify my social feeds and accounts into one platform that I could get deeper insights into what our audience was saying about the product. In the most basic sense, it does that. Unfortunately, I had higher expectations for the product.

The best solution right now is measuring sentiment and tracking competitor sentiment.

Great product with a friendly team!

What do you like best about the product?
From my first encounter with Sprout Social I had a gut feeling that it would work well with the needs of my team. The customer support and our account manager were so friendly and always willing to help out with any questions we had about the platform. The intuitive UI made our transition from our previous social scheduling platform quick and painless, as well as made it easy for our team to find the features and get integrated into the platform.

As an added bonus, when I started looking into Sprout Social, I found out that they do a ton of in-depth masterclasses on social media concepts for growth, which has been so powerful in helping our team.

Finally, I absolutely love the in-depth analytics capabilities that Sprout Social offers. It makes me excited to take a glance at our platform analytics because I know it is all going to be laid out in an easy-to-interpret way, and with the campaign and tagging capabilities, I know I won't have to spend hours poring over individual posts.

If you're looking for a social management software with a friendly team, who is always willing to help, and great features, this is the software is it.
What do you dislike about the product?
While we love using Sprout Social, the only thing I wish were different is the price. It is a little more expensive than its competitors. However, it was worth it for our team to be able to hop into Sprout every day to easily schedule and tag posts and take a look at the analytics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The primary problem Sprout Social is solving for us was the reliability of platform as well as analytics tracking. Our previous platform was like a soup of analytics where it was not laid out intuitively and it was harder to interpret. With that problem, we took to sourcing the data for each platform natively on that platform. It was a headache trying to sort out the data for different campaigns and took SO MUCH TIME! Now that we are on Sprout Social I can spend 5 to 10 minutes looking at all our analytics all in one place.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Great for Collaboration and Reporting, But Pricey for Growing Teams

  • July 21, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Sprout’s interface is intuitive and clean — it makes managing multiple channels feel seamless. The Smart Inbox is especially helpful for keeping track of all incoming messages, mentions, and comments across platforms like X, Instagram, and LinkedIn. I also appreciate the approval workflows, internal notes, and shared content calendar, which really help our team stay aligned. The analytics and reporting tools are another major highlight — the reports are customizable, presentation-ready, and valuable for both internal insights and stakeholder reporting.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest drawback is the pricing model. It quickly adds up for larger or growing teams. Also, several core features like social listening or advanced analytics come as paid add-ons, which makes the platform feel expensive over time. Integration with other tools — especially CRMs or ecommerce platforms — is also more limited than I’d like, and the platform doesn’t support ad campaign management. Instagram publishing and moderation features are somewhat restricted, though that’s more of an API issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sprout helps streamline our social media operations. We use it to collaborate on content creation, schedule and approve posts, track engagement, and report on performance across multiple channels. It’s made our workflow much more efficient and has improved cross-team visibility into our social strategy.

“Sprout Social: A Comprehensive Solution for Scalable Social Media Management”

  • July 12, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Sprout Social is how it brings everything together in one place. The Smart Inbox is a game-changer — it helps my team stay on top of incoming messages, mentions, and comments across all platforms without constantly jumping between apps. It makes social engagement feel manageable, even at scale.
I also really appreciate the reporting tools. The analytics are clean, easy to understand, and customizable, which makes it much easier to show performance and ROI to leadership. On top of that, the content calendar and scheduling features make planning campaigns feel organized and strategic, not chaotic.
Sprout is especially strong when it comes to collaboration. We can assign tasks, set approval workflows, and work efficiently across departments, which is a huge plus for our team. Overall, it’s a tool that feels built for serious social media management, not just posting and hoping for the best.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Sprout Social is a powerful platform, the biggest downside for me is the pricing structure. It can get expensive quickly, especially if you're managing multiple profiles or need additional user seats. For smaller teams or organizations with tighter budgets, it may be hard to justify the cost compared to other tools with similar core features.
Another challenge is that some platform limitations still exist — for example, tagging accounts or scheduling certain types of content (like Instagram Reels or LinkedIn mentions) can be hit or miss, depending on the network’s API. Also, I’ve noticed that certain features are only available at higher-tier plans, which can be frustrating if you need something like advanced analytics or social listening but aren’t ready to upgrade.
Overall, Sprout is excellent for large teams and complex workflows, but it might not be the best fit for smaller teams that don’t need all the bells and whistles.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sprout Social helps us solve several key challenges in managing our social media presence. The biggest is consolidating engagement across multiple platforms into a single, easy-to-manage inbox. This significantly improves our response times and ensures nothing falls through the cracks.
It also streamlines our content planning and publishing process. With the calendar and scheduling tools, we can plan campaigns weeks in advance, maintain brand consistency, and reduce last-minute scrambling.
The platform’s reporting and analytics features give us a clear view of what’s working and what isn’t, which helps us make more informed, data-driven decisions. On top of that, Sprout’s collaboration tools improve team efficiency by allowing us to assign tasks, set approvals, and maintain accountability.
Overall, Sprout Social has transformed how we manage social media—from a scattered, reactive effort into a more strategic and scalable operation.

Sprout helps us stay organized across platforms

  • June 29, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Sprout’s publishing calendar is one of my favorite features—it’s clean, intuitive, and makes it easy to visualize posts across multiple platforms at once. I also appreciate how smoothly the post preview works for different networks. The asset library and tagging features save our team a ton of time when scheduling content or tracking campaign performance. It’s also helpful that you can respond to comments and DMs directly from the platform, especially for Instagram and Facebook.
What do you dislike about the product?
The analytics dashboard looks nice, but some of the data feels limited unless you’re on a higher-tier plan. I wish there was more flexibility in customizing reports, especially when comparing post performance across platforms and even industries. Also, the pricing can be a bit steep for smaller teams. Mobile experience can be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sprout Social helps us manage multiple social accounts across different platforms without bouncing between apps. It centralizes our scheduling, engagement, and reporting into one place, which saves our team time and improves coordination. The smart inbox is especially helpful for staying on top of messages and comments with automated tagging and notifications, so nothing slips through the cracks. Overall, it’s made our workflow more efficient and helped us deliver more consistent content.
