GitGuardian catches dev secrets
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best is the speed of notification. I had my dev env file upload to the repo as a dummy for the rest of the team. I accidently put my own dev env secrets of the repo and that was flagged instantly. I loke the dashobard because it is very intuitive.
I am on the macOS so using `brew` to install is a very simple process and the integration is very easy. The feature to target a specific repository is nice.

I have not found anything that I don't like as yet. 😁

GitGuardian is very helpful in tracking secrets leaking especially when you have a large dev team.

I recently had an outstanding experience with GitGuardian, the go-to solution for securing modern software development. GitGuardian serves as a dedicated partner, fostering collaboration between developers, cloud operations, and security teams.

GitGuardian solves critical problems related to code security and data protection, benefiting users and organizations .
I've not used GitGuardian much but it has given me useful notifications about secret incidents

What do you dislike about the product?
The problem i've experienced of breached keys seems more difficult to resolve than it could be. Could it not be possible just to delete the github file through github's main page or through GitGuardian instead of via terminal commands? This would be my only suggestion.

What do you like best about the product?
I love how git guardian detects secrets in my open source projects even if I had removed the secret. It checks old commits to detect exposed secrets

Sometimes I get false-possitives, e.g some public client keys get detected as a secret

GitGuardian helps keep my applications secure by monintoring and alerting whenever I expose a secret in the source code.

What do you like best about the product?
Gitguardian helps me prevent critical security issues. Me and my team can be notified via email or Discord if a git commit contains sensitive information or other security issues. The dashboard contains all relevant information and tools to resolve the incident.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first I was a bit overwhelmed by the features of this tool. Some buttons did not meet my expectations. For example, the "Resolve" button simply closes the incident. It might sound like the problem can be fixed automatically in the code.

Security issus can be always include in code. GitGuardian helps me with spooting the issue and resolve it as fast and efficient as possible. The issue is also documented.

GitGuardian in real-time monitors my commits and detected security breaches. It identifies secrets across entire commit histories.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it reports false positives, i.e., alerts for developer public keys (Google Captcha).
Unfortunately, it only monitors and notifies about the incident and it can't prevent it.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GitGuardian is very useful in preventing security breaches. By monitoring code in real-time, GitGuardian instantly alerts me if I accidentally pushed sensitive information.

Great tool with a few minor issues
What do you like best about the product?
It's pretty good at finding stored credentials and searches git history, unlike other tools. Excited to try honeytokens. I like that it groups the same credentials found across different repos and files as one incident.
What do you dislike about the product?
It glitches out when frequently when switching between different instances of the same secret finding ("Something went wrong", a page refresh fixes.)
It doesn't properly find the right credential pairs in .env files frequently enough to be annoying.
I would like to be able to fix the above manually, and also be able to combine and separate findings into separate incidents if I please. I've encountered a couple instances where this would be helpful to us.

i would say, my secret keys, i always forgot some secrets here and their in the code. But now i always fail to find the secrets
