Not a smooth ride

  • April 19, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The end-result looks good. Customization options. Many learning resources. Easy to test and edit campaigns.
What do you dislike about the product?
Implementation is time consuming and arduous, with many technical difficulties. We're ping-ponging back and forth a lot, and we don't feel fully supported by Braze staff who don't seem to be as concerned that the product isn't working even after months of implementation. It takes a lot more dev resources than it should. Complex usability, and nothing is out of the box. It takes a lot of effort to understand and learn Braze, even outside of the Dev team and to me it shouldn't be this complicated to create in-app messaging.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing in-app guidance and information for customers. Notifications about product changes and creating product and usability awareness.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The platform.

Stay ahead of the curve

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I recently had the pleasure of using Braze, and I must say that I am thoroughly impressed with the platform's capabilities. The features provided by Braze allowed us to gain a deep understanding of our customers' preferences and behaviors across multiple digital touchpoints, which enabled us to send personalized and relevant messages to each customer in real-time.

One of the things that stood out to me about Braze was its ability to classify audiences and orchestrate campaigns seamlessly. The platform made it incredibly easy to test and iterate on our campaigns, ensuring that we were sending the right message, on the right channel, and at the right time.

This has been especially helpful for us as we continue to scale during this high-growth phase of our company journey.

Overall, I would highly recommend Braze to any company looking to streamline their customer engagement efforts and deliver personalized and relevant messaging to their customers. The platform's continuous evolution and addition of new products and features only add to its value, making it a must-have tool for any company looking to stay ahead of the curve in today's fast-paced digital landscape.
What do you dislike about the product?
Braze is a complex platform with a steep learning curve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The platform's real-time data classification and audience targeting capabilities were particularly impressive, as it made it easy to segment our customers based on their interests and engage with them in a more targeted way. This resulted in higher engagement rates and ultimately, better ROI on our campaigns.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Integrates well with different Tech Stacks and is user-friendly. Also lets you run complex campaigns using connected content, liquid, API-triggered campaigns, and so on.
What do you dislike about the product?
You need to have an analytics tool, such as Amplitude, to properly track conversion and build comprehensive reports not only on campaign level, but also vs. Global Control Groups
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Transactional campaigns for e-commerce platform, as well as engagement, flows to encourage user first purchase, and continuous engagement with the brand through newsletters, promotional campaigns, and triggered campaigns.

Awesome tool for automating customer interaction - eg in tourism

  • April 18, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We are using braze to enable Destinations in creating personalized, helpful communication along their whole customer journey. We are also leveraging braze for interaction with our Skiline Community of Skiers and Snowboardes (5Mio users). Braze handles massive communication easily, has lots of functionality through APIs but also through the UI itself to segment and personalize messages on different media.
What do you dislike about the product?
Getting data out of braze - e.g. information of a user, can be a bit tricky. Braze is not a CRM but shares some of the functionality, therefore sometimes functionalities overlap and it needs planning which the leading system is. Some limitations if you need information across app groups which is currently not possible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Braze enables us to have personalized communication accross the whole customer journey for our destinations (tourism) - from the booking phase, to prestay, to being on site and enjoying the holiday and after the stay.

Platform with a lot of possibilities that's easy to use

  • April 18, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I am still quite new to using Braze (2 monhts) but the platform is easy to get into. They also provide a lot of possibilities to learn more about what you can do with Braze in their courses. Some are self study and some courses are even live, which really motivates to get into Braze even more.
What do you dislike about the product?
There has not been something that I really dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps to be able to send out specific communication towards specific target audiences. Also, Braze makes it easy to create automated campaigns which gives you more time to focus on creating manual campaigns too.

Braze helps me do all the things!

  • April 13, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
UX is super fluent and easy to use. The learnings library is amazing and easy for me to get guidance on what i need to do better. The multi-channel marketing is so sharp and easy to use. The whole layout is super clear and saves me time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the sytem could communicate better with the data warehouse to identify problems in the segmentation. There may need to be better. The support process is lengthly and impersonal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
braze streamlines all necessary comms into one easy-to-use canvas or campaign. Conversion event data is super valuable as well. Easy ability to cross-check users against many different systems for verification

Adaptable tools with great ongoing support and a strong future

  • April 11, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Braze covers a variety of messaging channels with straightforward interfaces and common triggers/interactions, making it perfect for modern holistic messaging. Once you understand how to interact in the system as intended and leverage the various events and attributes at your disposal, many fascinating options open up for you as "free" benefits of your implementation. On the human level, we were connected early on with an outstanding Customer Success Manager and an excellent account executive, both of whom have been highly communicative and proactive with getting our people trained and evangelizing best practices internally.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a developer, I find the Liquid support for complex personalization very handy, but the documentation could be more consistent/current, and the examples better tested. If you go in expecting message bodies to serve solely as the templating/presentation layer and able to work with that constraint, you'll do well, but if you start wanting to put complex logic in your templates, your life rapidly gets difficult.
To a degree, this is a question of clashing paradigms more than a flaw in Braze, but it's tantalizing to have so much power in the template/message level and suddenly hit a brick wall when you take that one step too far. As with most templating languages, the error tracing/debugging is minimal to nonexistent -- designing things to "fail silently" when issues are encountered, while best for "live" messaging, can be problematic for those of us trying to figure out where issues originate.
We have encountered some other speedbumps with Braze, but this is one of the few that wasn't being specifically addressed in ongoing improvements or for which an alternate solution was available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Braze is helping us modernize and streamline communications with our users. We can now convert what were once complex email and SMS experiences, previously orchestrated across multiple vendors and internal databases, into a form that allows us to offload tremendous amounts of data manipulation and retention to Braze's systems. Further, doing so means we can give the experiences a cohesive management system at the same time, and every additional data point offloaded broadens our options for messaging. Braze enabled us to branch into mobile notifications easily, and soon we're hoping to integrate site experiences as well, allowing us to reach our users in a more adaptable, holistic fashion without having to do all the heavy lifting ourselves via internal systems.

Powerful multi-channel marketing platform

  • April 07, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Braze is a platform for non-technical marketers to run multi-channel campaigns. I like the drag & drop Canvas feature for building intuitive multi-step flows. The combination of HTML and WYSIWYG editors is useful for those with limited HTML skills.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface can be confusing. The flow for building segments and creating test groups could be simpler. QA testing custom attributes should be easier. Reporting should be simpler to build, for tracking MAU for example.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Braze powers multi-channel marketing for email, in-app message and push notification. It makes running our Lifecycle Marketing team easier since one teammate can manage it all.
