Workload automation with stonebranch

  • July 29, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy using the Stonebranch program because it offers many activities. For example, I love being able to create saved systems and then inspect them before invoking them from within the application. Another great feature is that when we release software to the construction industry, I get pleasure in marketing each trigger and task - which can often take several days. Stonebranch has become an integral part of our code promotion procedure and serves as a quality control measure to ensure that our code is always release-ready.
What do you dislike about the product?
UI of Stonebranch common controller is in dire need of an update. The current design is outdated and makes it difficult to navigate. A complete redesign would make using the controller much easier and more efficient.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Stonebranch is an excellent tool for optimizing your workflow. It lets you see which steps will consume the most time and effort, so you can start working on them immediately.

What do you like best about the product?
Getting up and running is quick and easy
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes they make GUI updates that are not as user-friendly as hoped.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We previously used shell scripts scheduled through CRON and there was no insight into our processes. Now we have a GUI that shows exactly where we are in processing and we are able to quickly get back to business when there are problems.

Allows you to schedule jobs on applications like Informatica and SAP

  • May 30, 2022
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

Two people are using this solution in my company.

It's deployed on a private cloud.

How has it helped my organization?

It improved the batch cycles in background and helping everyone to receive the files and reports on time without miss and client is happy from this tool without much escalations, issue it is working fine and upgradation of Agents and Controllers also cheap as compared to other Tools and its easy to handle while patching of Linux and Windows servers on every month and lots of Automation can be done with help of this tool.

What is most valuable?

The features are upgraded, and every six months they're releasing patches. There are features like dependencies. Some jobs are one block, and some jobs are different blocks. That dependency can be set, and many jobs can be dependent or in one block. You can do many automations.

The rerun portion is quite easy and very fast. If the database is good, then it is very nice.

What needs improvement?

It's not available on the cloud, so they should take that due to safety, security, and scalability.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this tool for seven years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Its quite stable and all applications hosted on Stonebranch server runs without any issue.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It's scalable and robust and it can be used or any customer worldwide irrespective of the complexity of the Customers.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is very good. They're not available on weekends. If you raise a ticket, they will resolve it within half an hour. They'll take the remote system and know what the problem is.

They are very technically very sound and familiar with this tool.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have also used Control-M. Compared to Control-M, Stonebranch is also cheap. If Control-M is down, it will be up within five seconds and will be working fine. Control-M is very stable, and many companies are using it. Stonebranch is new and has been in the market for 5 to 10 years.

Their structure is very nice, and it's better than Stonebranch. Control-M is more complex, but the security and stability are better than Stonebranch.

How was the initial setup?

Setup is easy. You can install the engine controller and whatever system that people want. You can take the details from them. You can set it up and try running a job in quality test systems. Then after that goes live, you can go to production systems.

Implementation takes one to two years.

What about the implementation team?

Best expertise.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Stonebranch is cheaper than Control-M, so many companies are using Stonebranch.

The license is paid every year.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

What other advice do I have?

I would rate this solution 8 out of 10.

My advice is that it's very easy to use, and you can schedule the jobs on all applications, Informatica, and SAP, and it will run fine.

Secure Data Exchange with Stonebranch

  • January 14, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Stonebranch's application UDM, Universal Data Mover, which ensures secure data transfer both within the data center and to external partners. I find it particularly impressive that it can be used across platforms from Linux to Windows to z/OS. The UDM scripting language gives me the ability to control file transfer down to the smallest detail, which provides high flexibility. Furthermore, the security of the transfer is reliably ensured by TLS encryption. I would also like to positively highlight the responsiveness of the company Stonebranch, which addresses the needs of its users. The continuous development in the area of Workload Automation / Service Orchestration and Automation Platform also makes Stonebranch an interesting provider. The integration of UDM into various Workload Automation solutions, such as Automic Automation and IWSz, is seamless, which is a great advantage over other proprietary solutions. Currently, I find the setup of Stonebranch for new file transfers to be simple and straightforward.
What do you dislike about the product?
There was a large turnover of long-term employees last year. I am curious to see how Stonebranch deals with these changes and ultimately perhaps even emerges stronger from them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Stonebranch for secure, cross-platform data transfer thanks to TLS encryption. The UDM scripting language offers precise control, and the easy integration into other workload automation solutions like Automic and IWSz is a big advantage.
