Canva makes sharing great social images easy-peasy
What do you like best about the product?
I love the ready-made templates and styles—they look so great, and make it easy for me to drag-and-drop my way into a great social share image.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Canva has a lot of nice bells and whistles, I wish their basic edits were easier to use. I want more scaling/cropping/simple edit features. Many times, all I want is the ability to quickly edit or add text to an image, and Canva's bells and whistles sometimes complicate this to the point of frustration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Canva to quickly make social images to add when sharing blog posts. Since Twitter doesn't add article cards for posts added through Buffer, adding a customized image that features the post title has really helped improved click through.

Canva
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to really like Canva. The free version is so function that it is difficult to need to upgrade to a paid version. I am using Canva and its integration with eClincher. Canva comes with tons of design options and free icons and images.
What do you dislike about the product?
I tried to use it with a colleague. We each had separate accounts but every time she share something with me, it was difficult for me to edit and then reassign to her. If this function worked, Canva would be even more awesome than it already is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Needed a content creation program for social media and company blog that is easier to use than PhotoShop or Illustrator.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it.
Love it. Easy to use.
What do you like best about the product?
Canva is an awesome little program/app that I use for my social media posts. Templates for all social media accounts and graphics.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sync between mobile app and desktop app doesn't always work. There is a lag, but not a deal breaker in using the app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communicate on Social Media.
Canva for Social Media Graphics
What do you like best about the product?
Intuitive to use, numerous templates for a variety of social media platforms, modern design, layering.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be tricky to selected stacked objects on different layers; It would also be nice to save colors for reuse.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our nonprofit can quickly create social media graphics in under 10 minutes after generating an idea and sourcing artwork. It gets the job done quickly, it lets our graphic artists work on more important designs, and it gets followers more engaged with out content.
Excellent and accessible tool for anyone!
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Canva has free templates and designs-- even if you are not a designer, you can create an excellent digital design that looks professional and engaging! They offer so many fun backgrounds, pieces of clip art, and fonts-- it is really enjoyable!
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes awhile to get used to using canva, and to all of the tips and tricks. I wish it were easier to halve or quarter your page to better proportion your designs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work with a very small non-profit, and we do not have any social media or marketing trained staff, nor dedicated staff members for this role. I am able to quickly generate print and online content, and go beyond my actual job, so that we can continue to engage people on multiple platforms (both in print and online)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Canva has been incredibly useful- I cannot recommend it enough!
Yes Use it
What do you like best about the product?
Everything, It is really easy to learn and use. The variety of templates, the design is really easy to master. its got spell check which is an absolute lifesaver and necessity. so much flexibility in terms of file downloading ie you can download your file as JPG, PNG, or PDF. And this web app has the competition beat when it comes to image design. The great templates and how easy it is to use preset dimensions or create your own. Really the best thing out there if you want to create interesting social media posts.
What do you dislike about the product?
The text, you can't really do that much with it. In terms of video presentations, there are other web apps that are much better, but that's not really what canva is for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great for multimodal teaching, presenting research in new ways, creating social media posts that are engaging when you do not have so much time. Really like the features the filters are really helpful for pictures that need to be edited to have the text pop out.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Yes this is much better than the competition.
Quick and Simple
What do you like best about the product?
I love that this website/app allows me to help my clients become self sufficient when it comes to creating content for their own social media and blog applications. Most of my clients are small business owners who appreciate the ability to quickly learn how to do tasks themselves so they don't have to constantly outsource something that should be quick and simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice to be able to bulk edit (delete, update, organize) uploaded content. I've used Canva for well over a year so my upload area is pretty cumbersome.
Ability to create and organize projects on the main page would be nice too. Ability to browse your completed projects by type or even the ability to tag your projects and search via the tags that you've created. That would be absolutely fantastic.
Ability to create and organize projects on the main page would be nice too. Ability to browse your completed projects by type or even the ability to tag your projects and search via the tags that you've created. That would be absolutely fantastic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A lot of my clients get stuck when it comes to design, with all the pre-made templates and sizing setup they're able to choose appropriate templates and update with their own content. They find themselves less 'stuck' on things they feel should be quick and simple.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give Canva a chance, it's so quick and easy. You wont have to teach yourself photoshop to look like you know what you're doing. Canva gives you great template options and even has clip art built in. It will save you tons of time!
Replaces our need to outsource graphics - really good value
What do you like best about the product?
Using Canva in-house we no longer have to outsource our graphics, which has saved us a lot of money. It is extremely simple to use and really caters to the non-technical person. Especially for our social media posts, Canva helps us keep our media on-brand, saving our company colors and logos for quick access. Very happy!
What do you dislike about the product?
Really stretching to find dislikes... they could use some more features built in for graphs/numbers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
No longer need to outsource graphics, or wait on a freelancer. Quick and simple! Can make an image in minutes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take a little bit of time upfront to learn the little tricks and shortcuts. They have some demos that are pretty helpful as well.
Canva is a Great Solution for Non-Designers and Designers Alike
What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Canva for a few years now because it's the fastest way to throw together a great design for social media. If I need to make it fast—and have it look good—I turn to Canva. I'm a professional designer and so I have pretty high standards. Canva is not professional design software by any means, but it is SO much better than trying to use something by Microsoft to make a graphic. If I need to do a pro job, I won't use this, but I love it for a fast social media graphic.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, for no reason at all, your design will do something totally wonky, like revert back to an earlier version, move text off the page, delete an image, or wrap text in a weird, unexpected way. These quirks are really frustrating. I also find it frustrating that it's so hard to resize an image, and that there are only limited numbers of files available in the free version. As well as that in the paid version you have to pay for every user license. It's very expensive for what you get.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
An easy, fast way to make design that looks good. Canva gives great starting points, and if you stick with their templates, suggested fonts, and colors, it's pretty hard to go wrong.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're going to be using this on a professional level, you'll be disappointed and would be better off with the Adobe Suite. But, if you just want to make a quick graphic here or there, you'll likely be happy with it.
