The perfect combination of creative and ease in one tool

  • April 26, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love Canva's ease of use. They make it really simple for non-graphic designers to get in there and accomplish what needs to be done. Additionally, they have a myriad of templates and designs you can draw from when you're unsure what to design.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Canva supported a grid that made it easier to align items across the design. Also, I wish there was a crop feature that made it easier when you oversize the design.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a tool that allowed us to quickly create social media designs that would reduce the use of internal resources and Canva helped us achieve this goal.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is certainly worth the price with little-to-no effort to get onboarded; I highly recommend it. Take advantage of the available templates; especially the Infographic ones. It makes it much easier to finalize content marketing tactics with half the time.

I can easily make custom social graphics and ads that look very professional.
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of images cost additional money when using g the free version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm able to really take my social presence to a higher level as well as improving site header images without the need of a graphic designer.

Canva is Photoshop for Dumbies

  • April 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The thing I like best about Canva is all of the pre-designed layouts that I can choose from when I login to create a graphic. The layouts cover a wide variety of things including Facebook cover photos, square images for social media, presentations, business cards, and much more.
What do you dislike about the product?
The thing I dislike about Canva is that there is no way to just look at the "free layout" options. When looking for a layout I have to scroll through the basic layouts as well as the premium layouts that require payment in order to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canva allows me to create graphics for work so that I don't have to solely rely on our graphic designer and his photoshop skills to get every single image created.

Easy go-to templates but don't get too creative!

  • April 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Great free layout templates and design ideas. Also fairly easy to navigate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes freezes and looses your work if you do too much and overload it. Doesn't let you customize or move things around as much as you want to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to add creative designs for our social media outlets that we wouldn't otherwise be able to create. Social media posts and engagement numbers are up.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Maybe take the time to learn tips & tricks to Canva before using. Otherwise, it is pretty easy to learn as a new user. Sometimes can be frustrating.

Great free program

  • April 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that it is FREE. It gives a lot of options for text layout, stock graphics, shapes, clip art, etc. You can also import your own elements if you have a logo, etc. that you want to use. It is also REALLY easy to use. I am the sole graphic designer type person in my department of about 20 people, so it has been great to be able to mention Canva to some of the other people in my department for them to use if they need something before I can get to it.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to think of anything I dislike. The only thing I can think of is that I don't think it is possible/easy to make essentially the same document in a variety of sizes. In paid programs like PhotoShop, if you need to make a variety of sizes using the same elements, you can select all the layers and drag it to a new document and shift things around until it fits. In Canva I believe it would be a more manual process as you cant have multiple projects open at once.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work in a digital advertising department and we sometimes use them to create spec banner ads for clients (final ads are typically created in PhotoShop due to what I mentioned above about being able to drag layers to difference documents to quickly make a variety of sizes). We also use it to make custom cards to include with client gifts, invitations to events, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great, free product to use for basic graphic design creation. Great for creating images for social media, invitations, flat cards, etc.

Great alternative to the pricier design softwares

  • April 24, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that I have a whole catalog of layouts/designs to choose from, it's a huge time-saver for me.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were filters available when searching keywords so I can really narrow down the search results.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
On the occasion that I need to create graphics for social media posts, I can quickly do so using Canva...for free!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're willing to pay for this software you will certainly get more out of it. However, the free version has served my needs!

This app makes making graphics so easy!

  • April 24, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have used Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator for years, but sometimes I just need a quick graphic. It makes life easy—I don't have to look up any image sizes, there are creative templates that I can tweak or that inspire me to make my own, and the typefaces and stock images are updated frequently so they don't look tired or cliche.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not quite enough default options, and the fact that so much of the stock vectors are paid for. I can typically track down a free one on a separate site, but it would be much easier if I could have a boolean search. I understand that they have a bottom line, so it's not likely, but that aspect of creating graphics is the only slow part of pulling something together in Canva. I also wish that standard keyboard commands and alignment features were available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am continually putting up Facebook graphics that have a short expiration date. I don't want to spend time fiddling with the exact alignment and sizing when the next day I'll have to create something else. Because this social media is not the primary goal of my job, it makes it easy for me to fit it in without sacrificing quality. I also benefit from brand consistency in that I can save my logos, typefaces and colors in one place to ensure that all of our content is cohesive and coordinated.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is great for anyone that does not have any design experience as well as for those that have design experience but limited time—it's a quick way to make a great graphic and has features that improve the brand itself and create that consistency.

I tell everyone I know about Canva

  • April 24, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I'm not a graphic designer--but it's part of my job. Canva allows me to get work done quickly and create beautiful graphics for print, email, and digital signage.
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn't work well on Safari sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My company doesn't have to train me to use paid graphics software. It's so so easy to use.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get the paid version--it's worth the transparent downloads and ability to upload brand fonts.

New to Canva

  • April 22, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the variety of templates provided by Canva and it's easy to,use.
What do you dislike about the product?
My least favorite are the template choices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am currently solving my need to get things up and going more quicker than starting designs from scratch.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Considers that the template and choices are limited and generic but the product works wells and is very easy to use. The ability to create something that can readily be use across many platforms is why Canve stands out.
