Helpful design tool

  • July 17, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Canva makes it easy to create professional design pieces even if you're not a designer, and they have non-profit accounts that allow you to save logos & custom font selections.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the media storage set up. It's clunky to delete old media/images.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to create beautifully designed graphics for social media and the web, all in the size proportions we need.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You'll be surprised at the level of customization you're able to achieve with Canva.

Easy to use web based graphics software

  • July 16, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Templates for a variety of topics and final output formats. An item created in 1 format, for example, a social media post can be resized to another format with one click.
What do you dislike about the product?
The search feature does not have a filter option. If i want to search for a clip art using a keyword for example school, I can not filter the results to only show the free graphics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating social media and email header graphics quickly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a good tool for creating quick graphics while maintaining a professional look.

Easy to use marketing material creation program

  • July 14, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Canva has a wide variety of templates in place that you can use for free, then modify to suit your needs. It's extremely simple to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice if you could search for templates like you can search for images. If you search in the bar at the top, it only searches through the image database. There are hundreds of templates and you have to scroll through them to search.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We primarily use Canva to create eye-catching images that we can post on social media and our website. We also create posters, job announcements, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking to use this with a team and will need to easily organize a lot of images, upgrade to pro.

The simplest software for professional results

  • July 13, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Canva is free and very simple to use. It is so intuitive that you can make a professional book cover in less than 5 minutes of work. You begin with an initial selected design specific for what you want to achieve (ebook, watppad book, social media, etc) and mddify it with the help of the free images and fonts and shapes provided by this website. You can find also some paid images, but you can use your own (free image). In 5 minutes everythis is ready to be published. Professional results with the simplest software.
Canva is very good and also free! You will like this free online software immediately and you will come to this site almost each week.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike is that for some images I have to pay. Yes they are great but not sufficient to pay for each around 1 USD. (Canva is very good because most of it it is free.) Although Canva has numerous features easy to use, it would be good to have some other free features like a transparent background.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Some of my ebook covers published on Amazon are made with Canva with very good results. I obtained professsinal ebook covers very easy. They sell very good on amazon. Canva is very good on what it is doing!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is the best free software to create ebook covers. It is very simple and you obtain professional results in just 5 minutes.

THE CANVA SOFTWARE HAS MADE MY DESIGNER LIFE MUCH EASIER

  • July 13, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Design isn´t my main major, but I earn an additional income by creating designs for shirts, party and wedding invitations, funny logos for college packages and most things related to creative design: before, I had to use adobe illustrator and it took me a lot of time, but with Canva, I just need to drag and drop, add a few images through here and there, add some text, and presto! I have my designs ready to be sold!!! The most amazing thing is that I can do this literally within a few minutes :)
What do you dislike about the product?
There´s nothing I really dislike to be fair. I mean, they could decrease a bit the subscription price for premium users, but 12.95 each month is a fair price, that said, I would love the price to be lower. This way, many design students would be able to upgrade their subscriptions. Also, another minor thing I dislike about Canva is that sometimes the website and your designs may crash, but this doesn´t happen so often. I think that having said that, this software might help you get rid of illustartor or other junkie softwares.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving many problems with this software, for example: it´s saving me time to create shirt designs, it´s saving me time from creating images (because the software has many, many images ready to be used by the user, by just dragging and dropping). This means that you can solve your illustration, font and design problems with this amazing piece of software
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you´re like me, a designer who makes party invitations, shirts designs and package illustrations, you might find Canva an invaluable tool (if you´re really creative). I think that this amazing piece of software has everything you need to create professional designs for your party invitations, shirts, shoes, packages, in a record-time.

Transforming my business with Canva

  • July 11, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can spend 5 minutes to create an eye-catching, clean cut design when I'm in a pinch as well as work through their many customization tools and layouts to build complex works that fit the personality of my business. It gives me the ability to be consistent in the designs across company campaigns and projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can sometimes crash as well as some minor bugs that pop up from time to time (ex: freezing when cropping photos). It typically resolves itself after reopening the program though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating marketing materials that are all unique but have enough consistency to look professional. It is great to be able to design pieces that you know are going to integrate perfectly for any type of application such as Facebook versus a blog or printed poster.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When you are first using it, just experiment! Make up a pretend event or product just to get used to how all of the tools work before getting into serious projects. The layouts are great to start out with because you can still completely transform it - it just helps to not get stuck staring at a totally blank page.

Brilliant, Easy to Use Software

  • July 11, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I love about Canva is that it's user-friendly enough for nearly anyone to create something beautiful in just a few minutes. With a very wide range of templates for a variety of products (social media headers, posts, banners, flyers, etc.), if you don't have an idea when you begin, a quick scroll through the Canva templates will give you 100 ideas for your project. The templates, both paid and free, are gorgeous and fresh looking.

I really enjoy the drag and drop feature, the ability to upload your own images and elements, the variety of font choices and spacing options, and the common layering feature which allows you to create more complex designs. It is easy enough for a complete beginner to use, with more elements for more advanced users to take advantage of, like layering, transparency, color changes, pages, etc.

Lastly, I favor the pre-determined sizes of the projects (and ability to create a custom size!) that makes it so simple if you are creating a header, profile picture, shareable post, or another standard-sized project. It saves the step of looking this up, typing in the custom size, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish you could right click on the main design space to go back, copy, paste, etc. For some reason, I'm always trying to right click on elements and find myself a bit frustrated.

Additionally, when you use a template and begin fill it in with your own content, it's difficult – if not impossible – to remove shapes and elements of the template. I find this to be a little frustrating and often just recreate the "look" of the template I like with the elements provided by Canva.

One frustrating aspect is the paid elements. It seems rather arbitrary which elements are free and which aren't. I don't like that the paid ones are mixed in with the free ones, because you may not see the very small $ on the element, incorporate it into your design, and then find out afterwards that it's a paid element. I have no problem with upgrades and things costing money, I just wish it was made more obvious in the selection process so that users can make a more informed decision on whether to use the elements or not.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been able to make a variety of projects for a number of clients and the main benefit is time saved. Time has been saved because the elements Canva offers don't need tom be searched for and found somewhere else on the internet. They make designing something in a pinch so convenient and I have used this for music artists who need a tour poster done, educational organization posters and flyers to be printed, digital sharing posts, social media headers and cover photos, etc. It's also very useful for consistent branding of digital and printed marketing elements with the use of accessible fonts and image uploads.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
One great thing about Canva is that it saves your work automatically and you can always revisit it from any device to make changes! This is very useful and trumps using Photoshop for team projects.

User friendly graphic design

  • July 11, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use, pretty flexible options and good collection of templates to get a good foundation or idea for a design
What do you dislike about the product?
Text/font is a little limited but would probably be better with a paid account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Use for marketing and promotions of events at multiple organizations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's very easy to use and great product, would highly recommend.

Intuitive, easy and 100% designer approved

  • July 11, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to change the color of every asset, even when they're embedded layers deep in templates
What do you dislike about the product?
I really wish that I could filter by "Free" and paid assets, it is definitely a pain to try and find only the free ones. I work at a university library, so it's a non-profit and it is not the easiest to get spending approved!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It will always take me longer to design a poster or flyer I feel really confident about in Photoshop as opposed to Canva. There have been many times even in the past couple of weeks where I have been able to lessen the turnaround time considerably by using Canva.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Designers will find ready to go templates and plenty of functionality in Canva. If you're not a designer, you'll find can't go wrong templates and an extremely intuitive interface - highly recommended. Someone on every marketing team should know how to use Canva.

I LOVE Canva - it's an amateur designer's dream and has made graphic design accessible to the masses

  • July 06, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use canva for a variety of things-blog graphics, social media, invitations, even resumes. I find the designs to be easy to use and they have a ton of choices for shapes and graphics. I find it very intuitive to use and things look super professionally done.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the web experience can sometimes be clunky-for example you can group text and then change them all at once, you have to individually change the fonts / colors of each text box. Little things that you would be able to do in a more comprehensive software make it harder to use for large projects (but it's ok because I use it as a free user)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm mainly solving marketing / visual problems in place of an actual graphic designer. It's easy to use, professional, and very fun to make. The phone app is also great for social media.
