Brilliant, Easy to Use Software
What do you like best about the product?
What I love about Canva is that it's user-friendly enough for nearly anyone to create something beautiful in just a few minutes. With a very wide range of templates for a variety of products (social media headers, posts, banners, flyers, etc.), if you don't have an idea when you begin, a quick scroll through the Canva templates will give you 100 ideas for your project. The templates, both paid and free, are gorgeous and fresh looking.
I really enjoy the drag and drop feature, the ability to upload your own images and elements, the variety of font choices and spacing options, and the common layering feature which allows you to create more complex designs. It is easy enough for a complete beginner to use, with more elements for more advanced users to take advantage of, like layering, transparency, color changes, pages, etc.
Lastly, I favor the pre-determined sizes of the projects (and ability to create a custom size!) that makes it so simple if you are creating a header, profile picture, shareable post, or another standard-sized project. It saves the step of looking this up, typing in the custom size, etc.

What do you dislike about the product?
I wish you could right click on the main design space to go back, copy, paste, etc. For some reason, I'm always trying to right click on elements and find myself a bit frustrated.
Additionally, when you use a template and begin fill it in with your own content, it's difficult – if not impossible – to remove shapes and elements of the template. I find this to be a little frustrating and often just recreate the "look" of the template I like with the elements provided by Canva.
One frustrating aspect is the paid elements. It seems rather arbitrary which elements are free and which aren't. I don't like that the paid ones are mixed in with the free ones, because you may not see the very small $ on the element, incorporate it into your design, and then find out afterwards that it's a paid element. I have no problem with upgrades and things costing money, I just wish it was made more obvious in the selection process so that users can make a more informed decision on whether to use the elements or not.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been able to make a variety of projects for a number of clients and the main benefit is time saved. Time has been saved because the elements Canva offers don't need tom be searched for and found somewhere else on the internet. They make designing something in a pinch so convenient and I have used this for music artists who need a tour poster done, educational organization posters and flyers to be printed, digital sharing posts, social media headers and cover photos, etc. It's also very useful for consistent branding of digital and printed marketing elements with the use of accessible fonts and image uploads.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
One great thing about Canva is that it saves your work automatically and you can always revisit it from any device to make changes! This is very useful and trumps using Photoshop for team projects.
User friendly graphic design
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use, pretty flexible options and good collection of templates to get a good foundation or idea for a design
What do you dislike about the product?
Text/font is a little limited but would probably be better with a paid account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Use for marketing and promotions of events at multiple organizations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's very easy to use and great product, would highly recommend.
Intuitive, easy and 100% designer approved
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to change the color of every asset, even when they're embedded layers deep in templates
What do you dislike about the product?
I really wish that I could filter by "Free" and paid assets, it is definitely a pain to try and find only the free ones. I work at a university library, so it's a non-profit and it is not the easiest to get spending approved!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It will always take me longer to design a poster or flyer I feel really confident about in Photoshop as opposed to Canva. There have been many times even in the past couple of weeks where I have been able to lessen the turnaround time considerably by using Canva.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Designers will find ready to go templates and plenty of functionality in Canva. If you're not a designer, you'll find can't go wrong templates and an extremely intuitive interface - highly recommended. Someone on every marketing team should know how to use Canva.
I LOVE Canva - it's an amateur designer's dream and has made graphic design accessible to the masses
What do you like best about the product?
I use canva for a variety of things-blog graphics, social media, invitations, even resumes. I find the designs to be easy to use and they have a ton of choices for shapes and graphics. I find it very intuitive to use and things look super professionally done.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the web experience can sometimes be clunky-for example you can group text and then change them all at once, you have to individually change the fonts / colors of each text box. Little things that you would be able to do in a more comprehensive software make it harder to use for large projects (but it's ok because I use it as a free user)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm mainly solving marketing / visual problems in place of an actual graphic designer. It's easy to use, professional, and very fun to make. The phone app is also great for social media.
Quick, Easy & Creative
What do you like best about the product?
I love the ability to customize my images for social media and save my templates to create consistency while developing a "personal brand"
What do you dislike about the product?
Every once in a while, that perfect image costs money....then I'm stuck with the free option. But hey - at least there IS a free option!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great for customizing images to insert into email. I create a template, save it, and update it when needed. But it also lets me play around with my ideas in a very easy and free way.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great way to customize your own images for easier use on Instagram, Facebook, Email, Twitter - you name it!
Canva for On Site Advertisements
What do you like best about the product?
I like Canva because it allows me both the opportunity to create an advertisement from scratch and to select a template to get something done fast. I use the free side of the program and even that is more than enough to get the job done perfectly. The program is very easy to use and it only took me one day to get it down.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that I don't like is that the template font choices are locked in and if I want to change the spacing I cant.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used Canva to redo a lot of the preexisting signage that was around the campus. The program makes it very easy to create eye catching posters in a fraction of the time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Canva is a very user friendly program that allows people to great advertisements quickly. I both use their templates and create from scratch.
I suggest Canva to every marketer I meet
What do you like best about the product?
The layout of Canva is SO user-friendly. Since I am not naturally graphic design-oriented, the templates and tools Canva offers for even free users are so essential to learning the basics properly! I highly recommend this program to anyone who asks.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much that I dislike about Canva- honestly, because I just use the free version, I have not had need to communicate with the customer service base or anything. But sometimes "Tom" from Canva emails me a few too many emails, trying to get me to buy things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All of my marketing templates can be based off their templates and layouts. It's so essential for me because it lines things up nicely and helps me to understand spacing and aesthetics, and I feel like I am learning more and more every day!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try! Honestly, it's so simple, and there is NOTHING to dislike.
I love Canva!
What do you like best about the product?
Great designs, free, easy to use, tons of ideas
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like more free images. I would also like a way to search templates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great for social media!
CANVA IS GREAT FOR DESIGNING WEBSITE HOMEPAGES (BELIEVE IT OR NOT!)
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Canvas is that you have at your disposal a wide variety of free design and images for you to design anything from e-cards, brochures, to website homepages. Actually, I use it to create sliders, it´s really simple: just choose the size of a standard slider, add a background, a few image elements, and presto! You can also use a free pre-design and work on it. It´s that simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that when I tried the premium service, the images that said that would be included in the premium edition, also costed one dollar. This fact discouraged me a bit because, as a premium user, I thought I would have access to all of the images that said premium, but these images also costed as if I was a free user. Basically, this is the only thing I disliked, because, honestly, Canva rocks,.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I´m solving the following issues:
1. Firstly, I´m solving the design problems for my small business: as a start-up, I don´t have deep pockets, therefore, I´m working with a web developer, but I need to provide him with the designs. So, I use Canva to come up with great-looking designs for my site.
2. I´m also solving advertising design problems: design advertising brochures and material.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you´re a designer who doesn´t want to spend much time coming up with design ideas for your website, brochures, invitations, cards, etc., then Canva is for you. With a huge arsenal of design, elements, images (both free and paid), you´ve got everything you need to create nice designs fairly quickly.
Easy to use, lots of design and tools offered
What do you like best about the product?
This is very easy to use and free. You can create lots of different marketing materials, flyers, brochures, signs, etc. with this software.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is difficult to access my folders.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to create mock designs, flyers when needed quickly, and any marketing materials quickly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Canva is free and easy to use. Sign up and test it out. The only downside is that it's a bit difficult to find my folders sometimes and there's an overwhelming amount of options.
