Perfect Software for Those Who Aren't Designers
What do you like best about the product?
I am not a designer. I don't have that designer touch. It's hard for me to create graphics, or good looking pictures. However, with Canva it's so easy to make anything good looking. They have templates, and preloaded images to help anyone out. Need something for facebook? Bam! Twitter? Bam! Email? Bam!
What do you dislike about the product?
After using it for so long you realize that there a ton of nickle and dime templates, and other features. They have to make money, but they need to work on making an unlimited membership instead of charging a dollar here and there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to make great looking social post and emails with Canva, without having to hire a designer and save our budget a bit more.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just get an account. It's a free membership. You'll quickly find out why so many people love it.
Okay, but not the best...
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I could just jump in and start using Canva with barely any instruction. The design templates are pleasant, and the free graphics are sufficient. I used it to make a weekly work newsletter, so it was okay in terms of choosing the layout, colors, and design elements.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a lot more effort to create something simple than I think it needs to be. It's basically intuitive, but I ran into blips with saving and re-using the same layout for a weekly newsletter. Sometimes I was not able to login properly due to the site being down for example. You have to pay for a lot of more interesting layouts and graphics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I needed to make a simple weekly newsletter for work and this was a relatively simple and free option, which also allowed multiple team members to edit. It was somewhat intuitive but not as fast to use as I was hoping.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Worth checking out, but may not be as fast or convenient as expected.
User-friendly Designing for the Not-so-Creatives
What do you like best about the product?
I like that the design options are already available to use. The design team creates themed designs for different holidays, which makes it fun to check up on regularly. The design options are available in the range of sign options; from traditional poster printing to social media memes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Naturally, I dislike what anyone dislikes: to pay for designs and icons. I do purchase icons regularly, but not often. For personal use, I go for the free items. For work use, I tend to purchase designs to make sure I create the most attractive products. I wish I can add a second user to my account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I organize events on campus and Canva.com allows me to create quick and attractive flyers for printing and social media in order to promote my events.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Canva is a great tool for anyone who is in charge of promoting events in their organization. I personally do not have design skills, so this service allows me to create really attractive posters that I often get complimented for. It saves time and money.
Super easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
Canva is super easy to use and very intuitive. I love the variety of images and templates they provide to make it extremely easy to create your own content for social media, emails, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that Canva had a better way to search and filter through images. It would help me speed things up if I was able to filter by category, color scheme, and if there was a way for me to sort between the free templates and they ones you need to pay for. I'm also hoping that they develop a mobile app as I often go back and forth between working on my laptop and my phone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canva has enabled me to easily create my own social media content. This not only helps my feeds to me more original and personal, but it also enables me to keep my branding strong by keeping my color schemes and fonts consistent. It's also super helpful that you're able to upload your own image and edit the transparency, so that you can "watermark" your designs. Before I was using two different apps/programs to edit & then watermark.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As long as you're ok with only working on your images on a computer, Canva is an excellent, free option. There are a lot of images that you have to pay a one-time fee to use, but there is still a really nice selection of free content plus the ability to upload your own images. Easy to use and gets the job done for creating social media content!
Inexpensive way to boost your social media content
What do you like best about the product?
I make inexpensive ads to run for my business on Facebook, Instagram, and for blog posts. You can purchase cheap stock photos, use free ones, or download your own images. Being able to create my brand has been great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there aren't really any free images for what you're looking for so you do need to purchase them or download. I also wish I could save my brand font and size without purchasing Canva for Work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There aren't really any business problems to solve but Canva is a huge benefit because Social media sites push posts with images more and Canva makes it so that you can push your ads and promote your pages.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use this! I tell everyone about it despite that I want to have the best Social Media posts over others.
Amazing design platform!
What do you like best about the product?
I have some design experience, but Canva is a super easy site and could even be used by beginners. It is very simple and quick to make professional looking documents such as posters, social media pictures, flyers, etc. I have been using it for a few months now and love it!
What do you dislike about the product?
It isn't as flexible with adding your own content and customizing as other softwares like Adobe Indesign, photoshop, etc., but it is more of a place to make quick and easy design content.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been able to quickly create great looking content for my business that looks like a professional created it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a great platform for simple design work. I highly recommend it! Even for beginners!
Great App for Social Media
What do you like best about the product?
Great templates, easy to edit, beautiful photos, and easy access to share to various social media platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really. It's easy to use. No complaints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canva allows fast creation and editing of social media graphics to help maintain social media accounts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great for quick graphics for social media accounts.
A great tool for marketers looking for DIY creative work
What do you like best about the product?
This is a great for budget constrained marketers aspiring to be efficient in day-to-day creative needs. Most of the features that I use regularly are free.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe more photo editing features would be great. More powerful file compression would be great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Canva to create images for social media posts, email headers, banner ads, etc. Most of the features I need frequently are free and have saved our startup a lot of money which we would have spent hiring a graphics designer.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it. There's no downside.
User Friendly Quick Photo Editor!
What do you like best about the product?
I like the uploaded templates for ideas and the ability to choose image size based on social media usage.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love the ability to add my own fonts to the program. I feel like the choices are pretty limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Last minute social media graphics when I am behind on schedule!
Favorite software
What do you like best about the product?
I love the ease with which Canva enables people with a design concept to implement it. Canva makes it easier to make things beautiful and encourages my team to be more design-centric in all that we do.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be challenging to get elements to stay where you put them and to save based on what you see on your screen. Instead, sometimes saving a file can be glitchy. It is also challenging to sort through files that you have uploaded to the platform and to resize files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The need to access design software cheaply. We have been able to improve the ability to create design materials on the fly and without the help of professional designers at every step along the way.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to teach your users how to use the tools and encourage them to do the tutorials.
