Next best thing to a graphic designer

  • August 08, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the variety of templates and choices along with the ability to customize designs. Canva helps me create graphics like a professional graphic designer, but at the fraction of the cost. It's also MUCH easier to use than photoshop, illustrator or other graphic design tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Canva charges for the use of some elements, but it's only $1 which is reasonable. I would like the organization of my own creations to be easier - I think they may have just implemented folders and I will be checking that out.
I also wish it were easier to search for things/elements that I'm looking for. Right now, there's just one search box without any filters so it can be hard to find elements that way - but it's not that big of a deal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The greatest business problem that Canva solves is reliance on a graphic designer. They make it super-simple to create and customize stunning graphic elements for social media, online and print media. Now I only use a graphic designer to do the hard stuff - like creating a logo or image - or something that requires a great deal of customization/personalization. Otherwise, Canva does a great job.

Canva Review

  • August 07, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Canvas is fairly simple to use for beginners and extremely intuitive when you're trying to figure the program out. It's great for people that do not have a background in design as it doesn't take long to pick up speed and assess how to complete your project.
What do you dislike about the product?
The bank of backgrounds and shapes that can be places into a poster are limited. Which makes certain projects less functional using this program. When importing photos from your personal files rather than the bank they provide it can be hard to format the photo without much distortion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used Canva to create marketing posters and postcards for events. The search function is easy to use and made what I was looking for extremely easy to find, however I do wish there were more options. It seems when searching for something in particular you may find one or two options.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend Canva as it does not require much or any background knowledge to get started and complete a project.

Really easy marketing materials done in minutes

  • August 03, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Canva is an awesome website/app for creating various marketing materials quickly. They give you plenty of templates to choose from, like social media headers and posts, business card, flyers etc. Pretty much whatever you need, you can find a template there or create your own design from scratch. For me personally, the paid version is not worth the money because $12/mo for resizing my design and saving brand colors is just not justifiable for me. But I enjoy using their free version.
They also give you many icons and pictures, details to use in your designs for free.
What do you dislike about the product?
That you need to pay for some icons and details (like a line or rectangle) $1 - it's not much, but you only get access to the element you buy for 24 hours and if you want to create something more advanced, the design will cost you. Also in some categories of elements, you cannot find a free one so that sucks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's an easy way for non-designers to create lovely graphic designs for social media or websites. It's intuitive and one will quickly get into it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The free version is awesome. Give it a go and see for yourself. The paid version, you'll see if it's worth the money for your use case. But I definitely recommend it!

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of creating presentations and note sheets. As a youth pastor, I am always looking for ways to make note-taking sheets look appealing.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not as easy to find my way around, but when you use it for a little while, you begin to catch on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creativity in presentations, papers, and note-taking sheets are essential in my line of work, and Canva helps create them simply with a professional look.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be prepared to spend a little bit of time getting to know the program. Once you get to know the layout and how it all works, Canva is great to use!

Create great graphics with ease!

  • August 01, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of drag and drop features as well as so many great templates and options to give you some creative ideas to start with. I like the share feature that I can share my images with my direct sales team or they can share with me! Love that you can set Brand colors, logos and fonts for ease of placing them in your creations and being consistent in you design.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not enough quality free pictures to use as backgrounds. The free ones are usually clipped art or not so engaging pictures. I would like to see more font options and easier to manipulate the fonts in some of the preset templates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been able to create graphics on the fly to post immediately to promote my personal business. By creating them immediately and saving them for future use I can make my direct sales items look unique and more professionally presented from other people posting the same items on Facebook.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Explore all the features and templates. It has some much to offer and they update the templates on a regular basis.

One doesn't have to be a specialist in Photoshop or any other tool to create professional artwork

  • August 01, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use,
The wide variety of templates available
Stock Images
Canva for work also offers creators kit with separate gallery for logos, etc
What do you dislike about the product?
It gets glitchy sometimes; when you download the artwork then you may get some indentation issues. The way around it is to refresh the page and save it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Artworks! For all platforms; from Facebook to Twitter to Website Banners to brochures and flyers.

More recently, predefined templates for Microsoft powerpoint as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Opt for Canva for work if your Business needs regular solutions for generating artworks. Else Canva free can also get the job done.

Quick and easy

  • August 01, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Canva is super easy to pick up and use. Since we use interns for some of our content creation, it's nice to give them a tool they can use right away without prior experience. Canva features a ton of free templates that make getting started a breeze. Plus, being able to save your brand colors to a palette for future use saves time as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Canva's ease of use makes it great for people without much graphic design experience, what those people typically need more of is guidance and control. Canva doesn't do a great job of assisting with alignment, making it really tough to get that polished look, even for people with more design experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Canva for infographics and social ads. Canva's ease of use allows us to create these with minimal investment, which has allowed us to experiment with formats quickly and easily. Plus, having the dimensions for each type of social ad preloaded in templates saves us time cropping and resizing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Supplement Canva with another source for photos or icons. Searching through the free library is pretty difficult, and there aren't a ton of options, so it'll save you a bunch of time to use another library if you on't mind paying for it. Definitely factor that into the full cost of Canva. Finally, take advantage of all of their templates! hat's arguably the most valuable feature, especially for the design-light teams Canva seems to target.

Easy Image Making for Non-Artists

  • July 31, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Canva is so easy to use that you can pick up on how to work the program without having any art or design experience. After you play around with the program for a bit, you can easily get the hang of how to create a graphic. They have several pre-designed templates and images to help you create a nice graphic.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that you cannot re-size your designs under the free subscription. However, this feature and more features are available with the Canva for Work and Canva Enterprise plans for a monthly fee.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I worked with a small businesses that had a strong, locally based audience. We used Canva to create the restaurant's event news, specials and discount announcements. We also used it to create many holiday-themed greetings for our social media pages. It worked well for our purposes because we didn't have a large budget or specific graphic designer, so the marketing team used this much cheaper and easy option that also took us little time to use.
