Invaluable for small, quick graphic design projects for users with minimal exp.

What do you like best about the product?
It is multi-functional and a great quick alternative to photoshop when you want something that is quick, but professional. I've used it for social media graphics, website/email graphics, to compile coloring books and other promotional materials, to compile logos designs, etc. I really like that the different templates allow you to import your own graphics in order to make banners, postcards etc and not worry about proper dimensions. It is really a no brained and a must program for cloud based graphic design, especially if you don't have/want to learn Gimp or PSD.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really wish they would stop trying to sell me background graphics for $1. that is a rip off when I can get them for free through sites like Pixabay.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it for small, quick graphic design projects and when I need templates I don't feel like creating by myself.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Learning curve is small, this is perfect for people who don't have graphic design experience.

Take graphics to a whole new level

What do you like best about the product?
Canva makes it super easy to create professional looking graphics that will capture your audience's attention. They do this by providing easy to use backgrounds, frames, photo-fillers, and graphics that easily work together to create a seamless image.
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of the graphics you have to pay additional for and there is not an android app for it yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating informational graphics to share with our followers. Canva makes it easy to create the graphics needed to share either via our blog or on our social media platforms.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be prepared to spend a few hours checking out what they offer first. Dive in and create a few graphics without saving them. Test out the interface and get comfortable with what they have to offer. There are a lot of options that are free and a lot that are paid. Pricing is great and if you are using it frequently enough it may be more beneficial to purchase a package as opposed to one or two items per graphic created.
The updated software now allows businesses to keep their custom font and color codes stored so when creating graphics, it is easier to implement branding into each creation. It also allows for a logo to be stored under branding so it can be easily implemented into the custom graphics.
The background and photo implementation are the best aspects as you can implement images into your graphic from other sources- either uploaded from your computer or from another photo purchasing site.

What do you like best about the product?
Canva has been a saving grace for the work I do. I work in Marketing and Communications, yet I do not have a design background. I am constantly needing to design and produce pieces for our print and online marketing pieces. Canva has allowed me to produce professional looking pieces that I would have never been able to create left to my own devices to learn the ever allusive Adobe Photoshop and Indesign.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't anything I dislike about Canva!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main business problems we are solving is how to market our financial services as an investment company and a foundation, through compelling materials. The benefits we have realized through Canva, is our ability to produce high quality work in-house that was previously shipped out and cost us hundreds of dollars for a product we didn't get much say in.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We are also super grateful that Canva is free!

Makes it easy for non-designers to make good looking images!

What do you like best about the product?
It's SO easy to use. It's great to not have to bug my designer to create images that I can do in a few minutes. I love all of the stock photos it comes with, fonts, and how quick you can create something that looks great. I also love how it does social image sizing for you. As a social media manager, that is a huge help.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that you could search for free images and organize them by free/paid. Unfortunately I don't have a paid account and it would be awesome if I could just see everything that's free instead of scrolling through all images.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Makes it super simple to create quick images. I also can share with my team through canva without going through email or slack or something of the like.

Simple but effective graphic design studio for social media & flyers

What do you like best about the product?
Large library of pre-built design templates, font styles, and headlines. Your work automatically saves every few seconds so you do not have to worry about losing your designs or forgetting to save your work. Moving around elements and putting elements into the background or foreground is very easy.

I also love that you can easily upload your own graphics and images for use as elements in your canvas.
What do you dislike about the product?
Resizing icons and elements can be trickly, and there are limitations with including lines and bars - you have to select from a library of pre-determined lines - you cannot choose the width and other style characteristics. You cannot edit color schemes, fill in areas on elements, or add transparency - that requires use of another design program like GIMP or SnagIt.

Also, uploading graphics sometimes can be slow and cause the program to crash.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to create collages and shareable social media graphics and we have been able to create an abundance of these. Additionally, we have a robust PPC program and have relied on Canva to create quick but appealing ads on the fly.

Love Using Canva!

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of creating professional looking graphics without a background in graphic design and without having to mess with photoshop!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more free photos and templates offered but I understand they have to make money and the graphics they sell are only a dollar for one time use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having to learn to use photoshop or hire someone to do our editing or graphics creations for us! We've been able to create professional looking flyers, postcards, and social media posts in a matter of minutes or an hour rather than having to trouble shoot over several hours for one product!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Play with it! They are creating new features all the time so just pick one project you'd like to work on (like a social media posts) and figure out what works for you and your brand. It's not a complicated system to use and the number of features they have is incredible given it's a free service!

Best FREE Design App.

What do you like best about the product?
This program takes a lot of the guess work out of designing which allows you to feel confident in your designs without a degree! The options that are given to a user on the free plan are overwhelming. If we are ever looking to purchase a picture it is only $1.00 as opposed to having to purchase credits from an istock or Lightstock photo place.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish this program would allow you to play with the text more (arch, rise, etc..). I currently work under the free plan and it would be nice to change the picture dimensions at times to allow our website images to look the same without entirely recreating the image. However, I do feel this could be something we move to purchasing in the coming years.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being a not-for-profit there are lots of other pieces we have to work on besides design. Canva is instrumental in allowing us to stay focused on the other pieces of marketing while allowing us to have a beautiful design that is created in minutes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look no further. If you need an web based design program, Canva is your place.

The design program for non-designers.

What do you like best about the product?
Canva is easy to use, but it also has the ability to be very complex. A basic account is free and if you want to implement your logos, pantone shades, and so on into your toolbar, you can upgrade to a payable account. I namely used this at my university job, but now I use it on whim to get more acquainted with design and design programs (I haven't felt brave enough to try Photoshop yet). User-friendly and versatile, it's a great online program to do little or big projects. I most recently used it to make a cover for my most recent writing project.
What do you dislike about the product?
It could always use more tools and ways to design pieces, but at the same time, it's a free program. It's great and I really don't have too many complaints at all. Sometimes it doesn't save properly and it takes a while for a preview of a piece to show up on your main homepage, but overall I love it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm saving myself money by using it for personal projects and when I used it at work, we were all able to log onto one account and projects were accessible by everyone on our small social media team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Since it's free, just go ahead and try it out. If you love it and want to implement it into your business, then upgrade with your business to the payable account. It's definitely worth at least some playing around!

Canva is the solution communications and content specialists are looking for.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use - Canva is super easy to use with a very short learning curve. I learned Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop in college and I'm still no expert, but within a week of using Canva I was already feeling comfortable.

Preset sizes and recommendations - Canva has preset image sizes for Facebook sharing, banners, Twitter sharing, blog images, etc. Everything a content specialist needs images for. If you run a blog or a social media page, Canva is extremely useful for you.

Customization - Canva lets you take any of their preset images and customize them with your own images, font sizes and colors, and by adding or removing graphics.

Saved images - You create an account on Canva and all of your images and designs are saved for later use. You can basically create your own templates and work off of them over and over again.
What do you dislike about the product?
Expensive for the pro package - I was using the pro package and I loved it, but I had to cancel pro and move back down to the unpaid version due to the cost. I also wish they had more modern graphics and vector images. I work at a software company and I need more trendy, modern graphics. The ones they have you have to pay for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If you're a content marketer or communications specialist and you don't have a graphic design background, Canva is perfect for you. I needed a quick way to make images for social media that would help my content get clicks, and Canva was the solution for me. I enjoy using Canva and playing around with the program to make beautiful images for my content and I feel empowered to do so without asking for assistance from a designer.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try the free pro trial if you're looking to create an account for you team or business. It's worth it if have a larger budget. I would love to get my team at work a pro account so that all the writers would be free to create their own infographics and social media graphics without the help of Adobe pros!
