I don't know what I did before Canva

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to use and has a simple drag and drop features.
It allows me to be able to quickly mock up social media visuals, brochures, flyers, anything I really need.
It also has templates you can just replace text and colors so the design is actually good and it doesn't take a lot of time.
There is team functionality so it is easy to get feedback from individuals if they are a part of your team.
I like that you can save company colors into your colors so you aren't having to constantly manually input the hex color.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more free images and graphics with the canva for work.
When designing it gives us some direction if things are lined u but it doesn't do a great job. You have to manually move items in place if you want text to completely line up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
can add team members to the platform so you constantly aren't having to save out files and clutter up the server with a million pictures that aren't going to be used anyway.

Easy to use for those quick turn projects.

You don't have to be an expert designer to put together a great design. Saves money.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a great tool. It does not replace photoshop for your graphic designers, but it allows you to be able to put together quick images. It also has templated together so it makes for a great guideline for your not pro designers.

Canva is user-friendly and is very helpful for those who manage multiple social media accounts.

What do you like best about the product?
Canva is incredibly easy to work with. You can quickly format your work for various social media platforms, which saves time and energy when you have multiple accounts to manage. They also have a section of free pictures to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Canva could provide even more free pictures. I've also had to import some of the shapes I wanted to use, so I wish they could provide more options there as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I needed a way to quickly create graphics to post to various social media platforms and this software helped me complete my tasks in half the time I would've spent working in PhotoShop.

Canva is easy to use and effective

What do you like best about the product?
I love everything about Canva. It's incredibly easy to use and the free version gets you very far.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were greater options for clip art and more free images. Other than that I can't complain.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canva has helped me achieve everything - unique social posts, re-sizing images for website use, creating e-books and manuals and more.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Canva is seriously easy to use. Re-size your images for your website & create original social media posts or info graphics. It's phenomenal. And the paid version offers a converter for various social media platforms.

One of the best graphics platforms for general image production

What do you like best about the product?
Canva packs some pretty powerful graphic design features into an intuitive and easy-to-use interface.

It works on the principle of layers, and each element is individually editable. This gives a great deal of flexibility when it comes to creating a design from scratch.

The built-in templates are incredibly useful - and the paid version offers a "magic resize" option to create multiple versions with different dimensions of a single design.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some minor glitches at times, that still need to be ironed out. On occasion, elements appear in a different place on the design on the downloaded file from their position on the workspace. Fortunately, this is relatively rare.

Print-ready PDFs don't have embedded fonts - which can present a problem if you are using non-standard fonts for your design work.

Fortunately, neither of these are problematic enough to make any real impact on our work and use of the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canva is perfect for creating graphics on the fly, especially in situations where the Adobe suite would be overkill.

The interface is deceptively simple to use, opening up the world of layer-based graphic manipulation to anyone. The built-in templates (the major social media cover images, popular document sizes, etc.) are very useful.

It's helped us create social media graphics quickly and easily - both for ourselves, and our clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's certainly worth spending some time creating images in the free version, so you can work out whether you click with the interface or not.

If you do (and it's fairly certain that you will!), then consider upgrading to the paid "Canva for Work" version - the additional control you're given (uploading fonts, for example) will allow you to create your own brand identity.

A great design platform for those with little graphic design background!

What do you like best about the product?
I love that Canva is so easy to use! As a social media and community manager it was frustrating to have to constantly contact an expensive graphic designer in order to make great graphics to accompany content. With this platform I can go in and make whatever I need graphic wise. There are pre-made dimensions for the major social media platforms and if you need something custom made there is a custom dimension option as well. It works great to share designs with my team and get feedback as well on where the design needs improvement. Super easy to download the image and then upload it into whatever I need. It's truly a lifesaver.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even when you buy a subscription outside of the free Canva version you still have to pay for a lot of the graphics or pre-made templates. Though they offer a good variety of free ones, often the best graphics are a dollar each. It does force you to get creative making your own templates and searching for free graphics online to get the look you really desire. I understand Canva needs to make money, however, I feel like most people probably go find their graphics free online somewhere else when Canva could just offer them and make money a different way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My main problem Canva solves is providing quick graphic design solutions, cutting down on costs for the business as a whole. Graphic designers are often expensive and take time to communicate with on what the overall design should look like. Though graphic designers they are much needed and appreciated, for simple social media graphics Canva provides a quick, money saving solution.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Seriously go try it out now, you will love it. You can even stay with the free solution to do a majority of the things you need to start designing great social media graphics, ads, and banners. Though graphic designers are wonderful, you don't need to go to them for every custom graphic. With canva you can make them look amazing all on your own. There's nothing to lose.

Canva is a game changer

  • January 25, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the fact that I can open up Canva, choose a format (in the correct size for various social media and print uses), choose from their professionally designed templates, change the copy and add a picture - and have a beautiful graphic ready to post in minutes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sharing your designs for approval or with editing rights with someone else is still a bit wonky unless you have Canva for Work (their premium product, about US$10/mo).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For small business and even big brands, Canva is a powerful tool to create professional-looking visuals for social media and print. Even as a trained designer, I most often choose Canva over Adobe Creative Suite to produce my social media graphics. It's super fast and easy and you're never starting from a blank canvas (unless you want to). I love that there is an iOS app too, so I can make graphics and share easily on sites like Instagram.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider upgrading to Canva for Work if you collaborate with others and want to maintain a consistent brand. You can upload your own fonts, set default brand colors, organize your logos and other graphics into sharable folders, and more. It really is worth it.

Canva is a dream

  • January 24, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The customization, availability of features and price!
What do you dislike about the product?
I have used other similar platforms that I think have better icons available and way more that are good AND free. But this does not stop me from using Canva above those other platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Canva for Marketing on so many levels from hard copy collateral, event graphics, to social posts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use Canva! Seriously. That's it. It's an amazing alternative to complex design software.

Makes Designing for Social Media Easy!

  • January 23, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Canva really stands out for being easy to use while still having a broad range of features. I love the built-in layouts and filters. The magic resizer (paid only) means that I can use the same basic layout and images in a brand new size, and Canva will get everything to look just about right.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the snap-to-grid functionality is a little overzealous. This is only really an issue when I'm using the built-in layouts. It can make it tricky to add, say, a logo to the corner of a built-in layout.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I need to create images for social media as well as mockups of more significant print pieces. I can use Canva instead of Photoshop or InDesign for simple projects--which makes them feel, well, simpler!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have non-design folks who need to do some basic design work, Canva is a great tool.

Great free alternative for design

  • January 23, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Love that you're able to save past designs and recreate them for additional use, or pick from a library of ideas to get started. Also love the 'sharing' function so team members can share designs amongst themselves.
What do you dislike about the product?
There have been a few glitches where my work did not save automatically, and I lost the design I was working on. It was definitely an internet server error, but very frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Marketing/advertising design for social media, blog posts, email blasts, internal use, event promotion, etc
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Utilize the 'share editable design' function amongst team members. So easy and efficient if working on a project as a team.
