NEXMO FOR SMS
What do you like best about the product?
Our residents have SMS texts sent to alert them that visitors have checked in. Nexmo makes it easy and affordable. We started with another company but found Nexmo to be more competitive for our needs and costs. We have recommended it to others that are also satisfied. Want to look into whether or not we can schedule blast texting within your online portal. If we can, we will be able to reach so many more people than we have ever before.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish we could buy in bulk to avoid the more frequent billings. There is a small Foreign Transaction fee but that is something we can change by using a different credit card to pay the services. Perhaps a bulk purchase with a company check could help us even more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gate access, Great communication with residents. Easy easy easy. We now want to implement a community wide SMS messaging system to announce events, happenings and important reminders. We are actually considering this as opposed to an onsite message board to post meetings and events inside of the community. With the low cost to SMS and the ability to reach residents right at home, and all members of the household and not just the primary, it may be the best way to go for all.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is an easy to implement and the website interface is easy touse.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our application has been in development 8 months (Phone2). The whole app operates on Nexmo's platform. So it's been very helpful.

Excellent support. They're always very fast to fix problems.

Sometimes their Seychelles numbers drop. But it's always resolved promptly.

What do you like best about the product?
The basic features of their services do work - users are able to create their own apps and use Nexmo's services rather easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nexmo's so called 24/7 support is really bad. If you end up in a tight spot and need support during the weekends, you are really between a rock and a hard place. Our campaign halted for 3 hours during the most important day because Nexmo had put some restrictions to our account.
Nexmo is also becoming quite expensive to use. During our use of Nexmo the costs for making calls doubled.
Also, Nexmo has promised to get for example a quick and easy way to make our own "voice mail recordings" but at least in Finland you still have to use a TTS-announcement - which btw is not too good in Finnish. We also did not get a mobile number (we had to stick with a landline number) so we were not able to register that number and people we were calling were not able see who is trying to call them.

We used Nexmo's voice call services via our app in a campaign that was mostly ran by volunteers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you get to know the restrictions that Nexmo applies to all accounts! In our case we were not able to spend enough money during a 24h hour period. This might sound quite funny that you cant control how much you are willing to spend during a day. Nexmo claims that this is to prevent frauds - and yes I kind of get it but at least users should be let know that their accounts have limitations!

What do you like best about the product?
Dashboard and API are brilliant - especially love being able to trigger my renewal from Telegram via our Bots as well as retrieve our current balance as we have a very chat-centric team
What do you dislike about the product?
A few gotchas in terms of unreachable numbers (local premium number etc) when calling airlines & hotels - need to failback to expensive mobile
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reliable SMS and SIP trunk - one less variable to think about during our projects.
Nexmo @ Relay
What do you like best about the product?
The Nexmo API is simple to integrate, and the support team is great. They are quick to respond, and lastly, we were assigned an account manager who really understands our business and has helped us grow.
What do you dislike about the product?
From a technical perspective, it would be beneficial for Nexmo to implement message queueing, eliminating the need for us to do so.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Relay provides a scalable and affordable messaging application/CRM for businesses, and Nexmo allows us to offer our SMS services at an affordable price to our end users.

What do you like best about the product?
You can get SMS messages to your number with the use of Webhook which you can connect without any technical knowledge or without being a developer. So it provides whatever you need for a very fair price.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not enough info on some technical aspects for those who are not expert but it's not so bad

Get 1 number that will forward both SMS and Calls.
