Pretty good experience with OpenTok
What do you like best about the product?
It helps you easily make a high-quality video chat app
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasional disruptions that aren't noticed until he archived video is looked at
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Video chat and a possibility to look at the archived video later really helped in moving industry
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great opportunity to make quality software without having to develop things from the beginning.
Good service for automatic SMS
What do you like best about the product?
The best characteristics of Nexmo are: pricing and a good system of API
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like the possibility to send either a SMS and a Whatsapp message
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can offer a good and fast service of alarm
Easy to use, reliable and stable system that I rely on to send out business critical text messages.
What do you like best about the product?
The fact that it just worked . . I’ve worked with so many systems that claimed “just to work” but so many don’t. Be more worked the first time I tried it . . and I’ve never had a problem!
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a lot . . possibly some more analysis and breakdown of sending (eg how many single/multiple messages) but that’s it!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Nedim to send SMS Appointment Reminder messages to clients with appointments. This saves the business money in lost revenue.
Solid web video
What do you like best about the product?
Opentok through Nexmo is the most solid web video api we have tried. Other platforms were harder to setup, and didn't have as quality of an outcome.
What do you dislike about the product?
It might be nicer if features got the enterprise platform a little quicker, but I understand the desire for stability over new (that is why we use that branch after all). I also wouldn't mind better handling of people with really bad connections.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it as part of an interactive classroom. It is the primary way the tutor/student interact.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Opentok is leading webrtc. Don't waste your time looking for a different primary provider
Nexmo (Tokbox) drives our business!
What do you like best about the product?
As a CS leader, I use Tokbox (Nexmo) to check on our customers' experiences, share connectivity data with them, and help them to work with their ISPs to ensure faster, more productive connections.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing, it's great! We have no issues at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping our frontline customers better understand how their internet connectivity impacts their customer experience.
Simple, cost-effective SIP
What do you like best about the product?
Nexmo is so simple to manage and configure. None of the other SIP providers I've tried comes close.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found anything I dislike, but my usage has been limited to specific testing scenarios so far.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Testing a possible switch for POTS phone lines with our ancient NEC phone system to a VoIP PBX with a SIP trunk provider.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try. There are many SIP providers out there, and Nexmo is among the best.
Works well even in developing countries
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use software, great that it can be used to send into virtually any country in the world.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the limits on topups without further verification could be set slightly higher.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Was able to communicate with large number of study participants in developing country using Nexmo. This would have been much harder to set up in-country.
Great value, easy integration
What do you like best about the product?
Good value and very easy to integrate into our existing product
What do you dislike about the product?
Topping up set amounts is annoying - we should be able to top up the desired amount
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SMS messaging to customers
Tokbox is easier than straight webRTC but still needs sr engineers to setup and maintain
What do you like best about the product?
webRTC is in a phase of rapid development and for those not able / interested to have to chase the latest greatest development, Tokbox can do that for you for a price.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tokbox still very much requires senior engineers to build out and maintain a video conferencing solution. The documentation might lead you to think any JS engineer could do this project and it's true that a it's not hard to get to a working prototype, however there is still plenty of nuance that people with webRTC as a skill are able to get through that a regular JS engineer cannot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main benefit is that Tokbox keeps up with webRTC development so you don't have to. Just keep your Tokbox implementation fresh.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Solve the problem of users not being able to connect. The network test is a diagnostic only; not a solution for the user to fix their bandwidth, webcam, mic, or speakers.
This article is https://tokbox.com/blog/do-12-of-webrtc-calls-really-fail/ is playing with numbers; eg. it's BS. We have everyone of our users complete a network test, and the rate of 1st time success is 88%. We've poured money into tech, different toxbox-partner engineering teams, and customer support in an effort to get closer 100%. We're at 94%. This is why people think video tech sucks, except for zoom (which took on the users problem).
