A great place to collaborate
What do you like best about the product?
Creating a Smartsheet for construction schedules is a great way for the whole team (even those not in the field) to see the progress of the house. It's helpful for the purchasing department.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there are too many "clicks" to get to the sheet that you need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Smartsheet for construction schedules, open issues, and general excel that need to be shared between several people.

• I love that it is cloud-based, allowing multiple users from inside/outside the company to use simultaneously
• Visually, it is organized and pleasing to the eye

What do you dislike about the product?
• Cannot lock down sorting
• formulas are a little clunky and long (compared to Excel)
• Only allows 500 rows to be pasted from Excel at a time.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Many, many solved with the help of the experts and the experts seem genuinely interested and excited about solving problems. Very quick solutions when entering questions through the community - this is extremely important.
We have contractors that do not have permissions to access our internal company systems and Smartsheet gives us a way to collaborate with the contractors with a tool where we can set permissions accordingly.

Grateful for the technology
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to organise and share a large amount of data while controlling how it is used.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reluctance of colleagues to respond to update requests within Smartsheet rather than just clicking reply on the email requesting their input. I find this very frustrating and assume they are too stupid and/or lazy to bother learning something new, just because they see no potential benefit from it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Management of data relating to monitoring projects at specific geographical loactions where out products have been used to record, managed and later demonstarte their veracity and success rates in establishing healthy trees in urben areas for the benefit of all who live and work in the areas.
Does a great job mostly but lags in saving massive amounts of data and support is lacking
What do you like best about the product?
SS is extremely versatile and can do just about anything. My company actually utilizes it for solutions it isn't even meant for, which is a huge plus. It's flexible in that everything is done through a spreadsheet-like interface, so it's very easy to create reporting, pull info, etc. It's also very intuitive for the most part, with familiar iconography for things like uploading files, and lots of features for various views. My favorite is the calendar view, which does cost more, but it's very affordable. On the whole, SS is quite cheap for what it does. It also integrates with APIs (easy implementation), which is huge, meaning we can use this every day for various needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
For our business, I wish smartsheet had a better interface for CRM. We use it for this, but it clearly isn't meant for it. I wish it also had text suggest in the sheets. You can only have that if you set it up a certain way, so some sheets take more time to work in than others. As we grow, I think we'll outgrow Smartsheet, so I do wish it had more growth to it for bigger companies. We've been using them now for about 5 years and we have to migrate sheets yearly due to overloading the system with too much data. It's not a huge issue but it does mean work takes longer. Also, customer support is pretty awful to try and get a hold of for anything meaningful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We track advertisement placements on our site through smartsheet, which it isn't actually meant to do but does great for our business. We also use it as a small CRM, to keep track of selling pipelines, and for various reports. It helps us get both a bird's eye view and very granular data on every brand we work with, our selling processes, and any roadblocks.
Incorporating spreadsheets with Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
Besides all the built-in features, which include robust project tracking capabilities that make day-to-day life as a PMO a lot easier, the possibility to integrate Smartsheet with other tools like Jira has significantly enhanced our efficiency and productivity!
What do you dislike about the product?
I still couldn't identify anything that I would consider bad about Smartsheets, except that it was not very intuitive at first, and it had a bit of a learning curve, especially when it comes to using it in a more advanced way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Smartsheet to track who in the team is assigned to which projects, and what is their current progress in each of these projects, allowing us to ensure our deliveries are always on track and within our SLAs. With the Jira integration, we also make it possible for each project assignee to log the time they spent on each project by themselves.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Smartsheet is a software to keep track of your projects, which will have available all the standard project management tools, but it also provides extra features that increase your productivity and your control over your projects.
A good mid-level project management tool
What do you like best about the product?
The Smartsheet team is frequently adding new features to the tool. A recent exciting example is card view which allows the tool to adapt to kanban-forward organizations and teams' needs. The support team is very responsive and proactive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet won't offer as robust of features that you might be used to in more enterprise tools. We could also benefit from more enhanced linkages/integrations to ticket softwares.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used Smartsheet to create executive dashboards for progress on large, enterprise-wide initiatives. The tool allows us to monitor and control progress and display it in a very straightforward way to leadership and customers.
User-friendly product with helpful project management tools!
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use has been a great feature for Smartsheets. I love how easily one can transitionsfrom grid view, to calendar view to viewing it in a Kanban card style manner. In the 4 years I have been using the platform, I've found that I've only scratched the surface on the capabilities. In the last year and a half, I've noticed that Smartsheets have expanded their portfolio of services and pre-built dashboards and sheets. Their customer service is strong.
What do you dislike about the product?
The formula development in Smartsheet can be a bit challenging. There are a ton of forums that can help one navigate this. However, more intuitive use of formulas would be better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheets to help project manage significant projects in a startup. The projects can be both large and small in scope. We have also begun using their resource management feature which is informative. Additionally, I use it as a tool that can share documents and spreadsheets to various people. Being able to be in the document at teh same time is incredibly useful. I like being able to link cells to other sheets and documents to see a bigger picture.

Use the helpdesk and forums to help support any questions you may have on using the product.
Smartsheet Allows for Seamless Collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
I like the form. I makes it so easy to send information to people. I also like how you get real time information when people register or change something int the sheet. I like that I'm able to easily put a sheet together and collaborate with other departments in our organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that it is a little difficult to find a sheet that has been moved to a workspace. I wish this would be more user-friendly.
I also dislike that sometimes the names of registrants will go to the bottom of the list leaving a big gap between registrants.

I am solving event registration problems. A huge benefit is that I am able to keep track of registrants without having to use an Event registration website.
Top notch for data collection
What do you like best about the product?
SmartSheet is an easy-to-use tool. Multiple members can review all data and information in real-time!
What do you dislike about the product?
It may take some time for data to appear on the system though this happens on a blue moon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use SmartSheet for data collection in a school setting. It is easy to upload students' data and important events occurring throughout the year.
So easy to use, shared docs for multi-site teams
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet makes data collection, project management and order forms so easy. Within minutes, you can create a template and provide access to team members or share a URL. I recently learned about the Smartsheets Gantt Chart function, which has been a game changer in project management.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only challenge I have is the URL length when sharing a data collection form, as some platforms have a character limit, but this is easily overcome using a third-party URL condenser.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project managing the tasks within strategic plans for multiple teams can be challenging, particularly when allocating shared resources. Using the Gantt Chart function has been a game changer in both scheduling of work, and visibility for stakeholders.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Smartsheet is an excellent tool for collecting information, project management and collaboration across sites. The greatest advantage is the intuitive, no fuss functionality. Smartsheet does what you need, and does not require high level technical skill from your team. Highly recommend.
