Smartsheet: Easy collaborative tool for project management
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has a lot of features that make it easy to organize information for project management in a collaborative way. I appreciate that it can hold detailed data to create overviews with dashboards. The Smartsheet app is a nice new feature that makes it much easier to access multiple tabs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Smartsheet had the ability to have multiple tabs for one Smartsheet, similar to Google Sheets. I would also like to see more templates. This would save time on creating automations. A downside is the amount of time I have had to research how to create reports, use conditional formatting, connect with Outlook, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Smartsheet app has helped make it possible to view multiple tabs without having to go back and forth. It is helpful that it can connect to other apps, including Outlook.

What do you like best about the product?
One can relay from one project to end-to-end work management, where anyone can create the solution. It is better for work management, collaboration, visibility, accessibility, and integration.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not cheap (cost for licenses). Has more prompts for the user. Less friendly interface. The dashboard can be better or customizable.

Helps in end-to-end work management, collaboration, visibility, accessibility, and integration.
Spreadsheet to the max!
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has really helped our team stay organized, work collaboratively, and ensure accountability. I love that I can assign tasks directly within smartsheets and also ping people for an update that they then deliver right in the same sheet. It's been amazing for our team!
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a lot of functions that I'm sure I'm not using maximally but so far I really like majority of functions it offers. I do wish you could assign a single cell instead of just assigning an entire row because it makes form design for data in harder.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organization and keep our entire team organized in 1 place! Also accountability which is huge since we can all view action items and each others' pending to do items and things solved already.
Better than excel for so many reasons

Being able to create sheets and project plans that can be easily shared and collaborated upon

Navigation from sheet to sheet is sometimes just a little ctricky.

Easier automation, formatting and sharing
Smartsheet is a great project management tool.
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet helps me keep track of all my projects, timelines, and activities. It is also user-friendly and has a short learning curve. The spreadsheet-based system is familiar to those who use excel but is easier to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much that I would call a downside to smartsheet. It would be great if there were a function catalog in the help area. There are things that I figure out through trial and error. If there were a function catalog, I would find solutions more quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps me keep track of our annual timeline of business activities. We've kept our business on track and realized increased efficiency in our operations. The dashboards that we're able to build are a high-value feature that our Board of Directors uses to make informed business decisions.

Price: the pricing of the software to be steep, especially for larger organizations with many team members.

SmartSheet helps to provide a comprehensive project management tool that streamlines workflows, improves collaboration, enhances visibility and insight, and increases productivity.
It's a very helpfull tool to follow up and keep controll in my projects
What do you like best about the product?
I can tag a collaborator in an activity and track it together. I like that we both can update, add, comment or tag another project member, but only I can give specific access to every collaborator. This allows me to see who is making changes and when.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some automatization formulas I can create in excel or Project aren´t available in Smartsheet. For example, I can't customize some rules between columns (if X is between a range, Y corresponds to a green status)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can see how the teams are managing their activities and in which cases they are having problems so that I can enhance the skills needed for the team. Also, I can give the Directive Committee more visibility about the projects, reflecting better strategic decision-making.
Smartsheet is a user-friendly program that helps makes the work day more efficient and organized.
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy that you can make drop-down categories for each row. This allows you to minimize information for one topic while opening information for another! This keeps the document organized and allows the presentation to not come across too overwhelming.
What do you dislike about the product?
Two things: First, smartsheet does not save/update in real-time. This can cause confusion and a lag in various information if multiple people use the smartsheet as a resource. Second, there is a steep learning curve to understanding how to use and implement all the magnificent advantages of smartsheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows for organization and better time management when it comes to big projects that can be overwhelmed by deadlines and various groups involved. It also solves the issue of including a lot of information on a specific topic in a small and concise space, especially with the ability to upload attachments, proofs, and comments. Finally, the workflow between departments and the ability of smartsheet to link separate smartsheet documents together is AMAZING!
SmartSheet starts where you need it to and scales to where you need to go.
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is easy for non-project managers to pick-up because the interface is very familiar with common office programs. That ability for contributors to pick up quickly and begin contributing makes a big difference in gaining traction in dynamic settings. Once contributors are actively entering information, administrators can leverage the intuitive reporting, calendaring and connectivity functions to get multiple levels of stakeholders what they need.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I would recommend as a user implementing in a dynamic, non-project-manager-stakeholder environment is the ability to easily view others' access permissions in a visual way. Being able to "switch" to another user category easily and test what those users can/cannot do would be helpful. Otherwise, I constantly find more usefulness instead of barriers, which is fantastic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SmartSheet solves the "common source of truth" problem within our department. We layer on accountability, project tracking and calendaring and the uses are expanding, daily, from there. I'm getting new requests for connectivity and functionality on a weekly basis.
Great product even for a small team
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet makes it easy to stay in the loop with reminders, comments, and mentions. Row attachments have been extremely useful for our organization. I love automating processes that would have otherwise required unnecessary staff time, especially since our organization has such a small staff. The forms are so useful and we have never had complaints from our clients about using them (which is a big win for us because we work with a lot of older/less tech-savvy folks!). They integrate very well with our sheets and we can make changes without breaking that connection, which is so helpful. It was also pretty easy for us to switch over to Smartsheet (we had been using Google Sheets for everything) which was important to us since we have a very small team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet has some minor things I would like to see changed - you cannot have text break through to the next cell, limited options for font/color changes, cannot make forms have multiple pages, limited options for form customization (as compared to WP Forms), cannot open word documents within Smartsheet. I would also like to be able to make folders for row attachments and open photos in gallery view even when in a report. Allowing us to view form entries as a whole (as compared to just the information gathered from the form) would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In part of our process we often had things falling through the cracks or left behind because we weren't easily able to track the timeline or set reminders for ourselves. Being able to set reminders within Smartsheet has eliminated that gap and allowed us to stay on top of our current projects.
