Feature-Rich, Attractive Project Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
My team and I primarily use Smart sheet's Sheets to create project timelines. Compared to my previous experience with similar project timeline software, Smartsheet is cleaner, more intuitive, and has a more attractive UI that makes it quite enjoyable to look at and work with. The sharing feature also enables easy collaboration with multiple team members.
It can sometimes be challenging to determine where to start when creating a new document; however, Smartsheet's wealth of templates, especially project sheets, takes care of that.
While I don't have a business need for them now, I am interested in exploring the Dashboards for personal task management and team use in the future.

What do you dislike about the product?
The downside to such a feature-rich program is that there can be quite a bit of a learning curve, which has admittedly prevented me from exploring additional tools and capabilities outside of Sheets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows my team and me to easily create, update, and collaborate on developing intuitive and attractive project timelines that are flexible and accessible for all team members. Despite many other options for creating team project timelines, we repeatedly return to Smartsheet.
Simplifies collaboration and workload
What do you like best about the product?
I love the collaboration options. Often we have people in different time zones, this product allows all of us to input work and get notified when someone else does. We use forms to collect information that would otherwise take forever to do. I recently was able to even use a form to collect documents from people which made it much easier than chasing infinite emails.
What do you dislike about the product?
It took me a little bit to figure out how to use everything which was frustrating at first but I put a little time into joining trainings and reading "how to" articles and it unlocked so many more possibilities for getting work done efficiently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Processes that used to take much longer over emails and zoom chats can now be streamlined through Smartsheet. I also found that originally I wanted to use it for project collaboration but now that I can see all the other options I have been able to use it for personal task management, project management, and form collection.
Smartsheet, a great collaborative, easy to use platform
What do you like best about the product?
It is veri intuitive, easy to use, you don't have to be a software developer or an IT guy in order to set up great workflows, dashboards, reminders. It integrates with other apps too, and the email reminders it sends, and the forms, are great.
What do you dislike about the product?
For an IT/developer, the platform has many limitations when trying to perform actions using big amounts of Data. There are also many restrictions on Column manipulation, and specially, when creating links to other sheets. This is normally a very manual process that wastes a lot of time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integrative collaboration, easy to use. It is benefiting me because we are a startup company, with not so many developers working on it, so we use Smartsheet as a framwork for other simpler developments.
Capable with some practical shortcomings
What do you like best about the product?
Lots of logical automation that take the burden off of you. I managed to break down our process and included logical and safety features that do not allow us to make mistakes. In the past, we were exposed to human error but now alarms being sent over emails if something is off, rows being turned red if something is off helps us a lot.
Once you have everything in spreadsheets then the next good thing is reports which you can schedule to be sent automatically. As long as original spreadsheets are diligently updated, reprots are always up to date.

What do you dislike about the product?
Some practical features are missing for running a day to day running of your business. Running and managing your carpool and drivers has no good solution. Other apps have this better solved.
Clocking in and out is only thought of for Middle-level employees. In case you have a lot of ordinary workers with their company ID that have to clock-in clock-out, there is no practical solution.
Reports. Smartsheet offers great report building options when looking at reports on desktop. But the minute you send the report to yourself, you get unstructured raw excel or pdf file?!?! Why!
What I really dislike is a big subscription gap between the basic subscription and the next level (forgot the name) that gives you more tools. Not linear increase of pricing. The jump had us look for other software solutions.

It helped automate steps, reduce email chatter, increased level of communication on specific maters with dialog options within the task/project/work. Reporting is also automated and reduces the information gathering from multiple people's inboxes and spreadsheets.
Great solution for tracking and automation

Smartsheet is an outstanding tool for anyone looking to streamline their work processes and increase efficiency. The ability to track and automate workflows is one of its standout features. With Smartsheet, I can easily create a custom workflow for my projects, assign tasks to team members, set deadlines, send out e-mail notifications, and track progress in real-time. The platform also allows me to automate routine tasks, freeing up time for more important work. The intuitive interface makes it easy to use, even for those who are new to project management tools. The ability to collaborate with team members in real-time, using comments, alerts, and notifications, has significantly improved communication and coordination among my team. Overall, Smartsheet has been a game-changer for my business, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their work processes and be more productive.

Sometiems the interface isn't the easiest to navigae, or to view what I need to at once without scrolling horizontally, so it can be time consuming and arduous. But some of the issues may be attributed to the way we implemented it.

We use it to enforce a workflow for tracking tasks that require multiple inputs and approvals, and it has made a huge difference in terms of efficiency and accuracy. The platform's email notifications and alerts also ensure that everyone is on the same page and working towards the same goals. It allows us to manage input and approvals efficiently and effectively.
Smartsheet is smart, but takes smarts
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the interactive aspect with that of my colleagues & being able to add them to different sheets. The ability to use premade templates, along with having the quick user guides, helps to save a bit of time when creating a new project. Having dashboard is helpful as well for combining multiple sheets together and highlighting important information in a visual way. The work apps are also a nice component to have when sharing multiple deliverables with team members and/or clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing that has taken the most time for me when using this software is learning all the capabilities provided. Thankfully, there is Smartsheet university to answer many questions; however, I'd like to have recommended courses or references pop up when I open a new feature in the software. Another dislike I need to mention is not having an interactive visual aspect to the calendar view- when planning content out, I'd love to be able to move things around in this view and not have to work around strictly the grid guidelines.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The best benefit of Smartsheet to my team is that we can all collaborate on the same project without having many distractions or complexities. The automation tool is helpful for reminders, alerts, or update requests. The different levels of access when sharing also helps to control others' ability to edit different aspects of a particular project. From project management to workflow management & ease of communication, this tool has been valuable to have on-hand!

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is an excellent tool for building a PPM system within an organization with varying experience levels in project management tools. It is approachable because it functions similarly to Excel but has tons of great automation and 'smart' features to handle manual tasks on behalf of the project manager. The reports and dashboards are beneficial for executive reporting, the workflows are heavily customizable, and the system securities meet all our corporate requirements. Additionally, Smartsheet has one of the best mobile apps across all the project management solutions with the fewest limitations between website, desktop, and mobile functionality.
What do you dislike about the product?
No tool is perfect, and Smartsheet is not without flaws. You have to save your work vs. updates posting live which makes collaborating challenging. Users often update the same cell without realizing it, and edits get overridden based on who saves their sheet last. Also, many prefer the card view as visual workers but you cannot sort tasks in that view which essentially makes that view worthless. Sorting by due date is a must for us! You cannot add new tasks directly in calendar view either which only makes that a helpful view once all tasks are set as opposed to using it like you would use your email calendar. Sharing and publishing should also be in the same prompt because often people pull the link from the Share URL without realizing they need to publish and grab that link to send without limitation. It would also be helpful to have a share option between Workspace and Sheet to account for Folder sharing within a workspace. Lastly, Smartsheet needs a better homepage with an automated to-do task compiler that scans across every sheet you are included within to grab all your assigned tasks in one place. We have setup a report to handle that but if someone has tools that the report owner cannot see, there is no way to integrate them into that to-do report.

Smartsheet is giving our organization the ability to create project-tracking solutions in one system across all departments. This drives accountability for project team members and provides a way to create holistic reporting for executive leadership.
Smart is exactly what it is. Efficient organisation is smart work.

The multiple visual representations of information allow me to use the style best suited for me, and other team members can view it in a way that works best for them.
I like the flexibility it offers in allocating information and generating the type and number of data points stored, tailored to what we need.

What do you dislike about the product?
Not much in the way that we use it, but we are looking forward to exploring the integration of Smartsheet and Salesforce, so we do not have to double up our work efforts. One place to write and secure information would be great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps us solve workflow issues and ensure people are sharing the load. Identifying priority tasks to work on also helps us keep on task and on target.
Works for what we need
What do you like best about the product?
I like that multiple people can work in the document at the same time. Having a space for shared files is key!
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice if the files could download in a more organized way than just one zip file. I also dislike that they changed access and required us to spend a significant more about of money to use it the way we needed. Overall, I still feel that it is worth the money for what we need and use it for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previously, our clients would send us files via email and then we would have to save them and then update a checklist. Now we can do it all in Smartsheet along with everyone being able to access it and see the progress.
