A Smart Project Management tool
What do you like best about the product?
We use Smartsheet to manage deadlines, collaboration, and timing of our work projects. It offers us a great way to stay organized across teams and keeps everyone accountable for deadlines.
What do you dislike about the product?
The program seems to have a robust number of features, but without fully immersing the time into the training programs, and online guides, a user may not be able fully use all of the bells and whistles of Smartsheet. It can be a difficult learning curve for any new user and when we invite more into using the sheet, it can result in a circumstance where we have one assigned expert, and several novices who needs to rely on the expert to project manage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping individuals and teams on the same page in work and project management. This tool offers good alternative in sprint management. Business performance has become more transparent and progress across projects more predictable.
That system is great for live sheets.
What do you like best about the product?
I like how I can share sheets as if you were on a server sharing a document. You can change it to a locked sheet or permit only comments. I also enjoy sharing the sheet where they can edit and be notified if changes are made.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish we could be notified if someone is typing as you are. The sheet will over write anything you type if someone saves it after you have done your work. I also wish we had more options on the edit columns.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helped when we were all trying to be on the same page, from projects to simple note-taking we wanted to share. This has also made it easy if we wish to update and are not in the office.
An incredibly powerful tool, which has quickly become of basis of a large amount of our work.
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is an incredibly powerful tool, which we have used as a basis for a large variety of the work we complete throughout our day-to-day. Running HR and SHEQ forms and data, recording and processing large amounts of on-site data, which can be used together through the help of cross-sheet formulas. The integration with PowerBI also allows this product to go even further.
What do you dislike about the product?
While it is incredibly adaptive and innovative, it is missing some necessary features provided in excel. A missing feature would include having a column set only to time, with the ability to use formulas that can calculate time. I have to treat it as if it is text, and the formulas used to manipulate it are very extensive and bloated. Including additional formulas found within excel (Such as XLookup) would go further to improve this product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
An adaptive way of programming our site operatives' day-to-day tasks is that they can update themselves with a detailed record of work undertaken. An efficient way of showing data, such as the location and status of equipment within an equipment register, displayed on an informative and easy to use dashboard. Cross-sheet connections allow for a clear overview of a large amount of data being provided daily. The report functions allow for information from multiple sheets to be displayed within one sheet while only showing the necessary columns for the task.

What do you like best about the product?
Simple tool with good interface - suitable for basic- to medium-diffuculty project planning. It is easy to integrate projects within a program, create dashboards and reports.
Smartsheet has good visuals. Along with task filtering functions, you can use it to present general timelines without much effort.

What do you dislike about the product?
If you're in for advanced planning. Smartsheet is not for you. It simply lacks features such as custom calendars, resource management etc. If you'd like to integrate shcedules created in MS Project, features are limited. You cannot have an online integration, only one-time import function is available.
While Smartheet looks nice and can be included in corporate presentations, you can only do so by taking screenshots. There is no timeline export function.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smarthseet hepls me to integrate project shcedules. I have detailed schedules in separate sheets and a general overview of key milestones in my program view. The tool is also great for making dashboards.
Fantastic Solution for a Complex Business
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet allows me to manage contry-wide marketing campaigns, and automate the administration tasks required. When creating a formula, Smartsheet provides assistance to the user and has a fantastic learning centre for further support.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a cell reference of 10,000 cells before a sheet will not allow you to create any further formulas. As my campaigns cover so many leads, I can run out of cell references quickly. I would also like the ability to create formulas/more complex automations using the attachments feature
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have a small team, and by using the automations available I have been able to reduce the need for additional members by carrying out a majority of the administrative tasks (eg. moving a row from one sheet to another, sending out agreements by clicking a button, etc.)
It's as easy as using Excel, but with all the cloud collaboration!

User acceptance is fast, as the look and feel are similar to Excel.
Cloud environment comes out of the box and is essential for multi-user collaboration.
All changes are instantly deployed.
The pricing model is great for starting up and exploring all the features before paying for premium support.

What do you dislike about the product?
User experience on the mobile app (iOS) could be improved, as spreadsheets are not so nice to handle on handheld devices.
A document viewer (.doc, .xlsx) within GUI would be appreciated; an editor would be even better.

Smartsheet is a very versatile tool for project management
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use when setting up new sheets and the management of notifications is key to running projects in an efficient manner, and Smartsheet does this. The templates are useful and can be modified for your own individual use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Very little to dislike about it, as the user interface is so easy to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Running projects between departments within a company can be hard with communication normally through email trails, but Smartsheet enables live tracking of projects to track progress and assign tasks to people making it more efficient. Having templates for tasks that can be shared with other departments for milestones and for highlighting project issues to discuss and resolve.
A great tool with a fantastic community
What do you like best about the product?
I like the community best honestly. Where Smartsheet has plenty of learning resurces, the community is usually what helps when I get stuck with something. They get back very quick and usually with the answer or an alternative solution
What do you dislike about the product?
Firstly I disliked the limitations with Smartsheet being a single axis spreadsheet. It's frsutrating when it appears and acts so similar to excel but actually can't do as much. Now I would say the customer service/ 'feedback' never gets responded to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All of the Smartsheet plugins/ add-ons seem to solve some kind of issue. Whether it's producing project portfolios to scale or GDPR / ensuring data is safe. Whilst I really like these add-ons, I think they should be apart of the base product.

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that I can maintain information in a spreadsheet type format and get other people to maintain the data at
the same time. In other words, the collaborative updates is extremely useful and not only on project plan updates

There is nothing that is not working well. If anything is not working well for me it's because I just don't have the time to go and read the instructions on how a function works
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project plans are visible to all the role players who can update their tasks. The audit information is very helpful to see who has updated the fields. It helps that I don't have to send spreadsheets around to update information and then consolidate the information from the various roleplayers

What do you like best about the product?
It is an easy platform to use, it is great all the options you have to make it custom made. I also like that a license is not required for most of the users. Besides being good for managing projects, it is also great for managing programs.
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of functions are still missing. There are features that could be developed so more things can be automated. The connections towards other platforms such as BIM360, Power Bi is not the easiest.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By using Smartsheet in my last project, we were able to diminish our use of Outlook and instead we would capture everything in Smartheet trackers. This way, we made sure everyone would have information available at all times and avoid the risk of duplicating stuff or loosing information between e-mails.
