Has improved project management tasks and collaboration more effectively.
What do you like best about the product?
I would say that the most helpful feature is its intuitive spreadsheet-like interface, which has been easy to use for me and allows me to communicate and work together more effectively with my team members. The overall upsides are teamwork and productivity, I would say.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest downside is that people unfamiliar with spreadsheet applications could find themselves on a learning curve and get the hang of the interface. Also, looks like it is specialized for specific industries or use cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has helped solve the lack of visibility by helping me keep track of project progress, deadlines, and critical information across the different projects we have at the organization. For example, customizing a report that I keep track of progress every single week for active projects.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can easily reassign and/or change the date of tasks without disrupting other entries, and can create specific views & filters for meetings, so you don't have to worry about showing irrelevant or "classified" information to the wrong people. You can also easily interact within these filters (reassigning, changing dates, altering details) without getting kicked out to the unfiltered feed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is difficult to create the custom automations that you want for your team. The user-friendly options are very limited, and while I knew there were other ways to create automations, I didn't figure out how to use them until I took the Smartsheet course included in my company's subscription. (Though those courses were extremely helpful.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem Smartsheet solves for us is the fact that we are a team of writers, editors, campaign managers, and visual designers that have very different tasks/needs, yet often interact with one another and need to communicate/collaborate to make projects possible. Smartsheet let's us each create our own views/filters that are helpful to our individual processes, and let us easily communicate with one another within the comments of specific tasks (to minimize confusion), upload drafts, review, and approve all in one row of a smartsheet! (Those tasks used to use email, reviewing software, spreadsheets, and more, and had much more downtime/misunderstanding.)

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to use and can be collaborative (invite colleagues to edit or review). I can use the forms to track requests and log request, while using the Gantt feature to track timelines. There is additional functionality that allows for a customizable dashboard to track metrics.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mostly intuitive, but some formulas are difficult or require additional sheets to be made in order to execute. However, there is a great user guide that is very helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not necessarily "solving problems" but rather offering an alternative to excel or google forms is nice. The multifunctionality and automated features help free up my time to concentrate on other efforts/activities while trusting reminders/alerts will be received by the appropriate personnel.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is easy to use because it functions almost like Excel, which most people have experience with. It is, however, better than excel for project management purposes. I am able to assign tasks and automate reminders, which saves me and others time.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some functions I wish were available (and maybe they are - it's possible that I just don't know). For example, I cannot seem to hide a row, there is a limit to the number of characters in a row title, and copying and pasting data from an excel sheet needs to be done in groupings of 500.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet's automation features allow me to send task reminders and late notifications very easily. When running projects with moving parts and a large number of people, this feature saves me time from sending calendar invites, emails/pings, and late reminders.

What do you dislike about the product?
More features are needed in Forms, changing fonts, and font sizes throughout the form, collecting information from the form such as who submitted instead of just # of submissions, an Outlook calendar feature where if using a form for an appointment/event, it can easily be added to a calendar for the person submitting the form, easier way to change the logo on the form and in general, the graphics side of smartsheet is hard to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is solving a major efficiency problem in our department. Since using Smartsheet, we can process grant requests, send approvals to our procurement department, collect data from approved grant applications into a dashboard, and then use all of this information in a monthly report and an annual report. Smartsheet has also helped us establish a database for our volunteer program. We can send out volunteer opportunities and track who is attending and how often the volunteer and pull all of this information into a dashboard and/or report.
Smartsheet is effective but not always intuitive
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to design effective, clean surveys and quickly view the results in spreadsheet form. This functionality makes it easy to collaborate with others on survey management.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not always find that smartsheet is intuitive for survey design. I like to make likert scale style questions, which can be done in smartsheet via multiple choice, but it is not as intuitive for the user. I prefer Survey Monkey's ability to create a 5 or 7 point likert scale question with clear descriptors for each option. Additionally I think the label vs. question title functionality is confusing. I would prefer that the survey by default show the entire question as the column header. Additionally, I like to create forced ranking questions in surveys, which is not possible in Smartsheets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I primarily use Smartsheet for surveys. The problem I'm trying to solve is how do I solicit feedback from a group and aggregate the results in one location that can be easily shared with other collaborators. Smartsheet is effective for surveys and I like the fact that it seamlessly integrates a form and sheet to easily view survey results.

What do you like best about the product?
One of the most helpful things about Smartsheet is that it allows me to create projects with reports and dashboards. Having these features is extremely beneficial when I am needing to track progress and present this information to my team or management.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the downsides of using smartsheet is that the program is not known as well within my team and company, which deters them from wanting to utilize it. If we had better training and understanding within the program I believe this could be utilized for many more things.

Smartsheet is allowing me to track requests for multiple projects, while also assisting in sending emails through automated alerts. Not having to worry about sending an extra email is extremely beneficial for work productivity.
Like Excel on Steroids!
What do you like best about the product?
The usability. the sheets, the reports, the dashboards, and everything in between. These features make sharing internally and externally so much easier that the traditional Microsoft shared document route.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that Smartsheet had the ability to have multiple tabs like Excel, pretty much the only feature Microsoft has over Smartsheet in my opinion. Yes, you can link sheets and create reports from multiple sheets, but sometimes you really just want and need a lot of info in one document.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We run a lot of projects that require the sharing of data from the project teams with our clients. Using Smartsheets allows us to share only what we feel we need to share and control access throughout the process. Additionally, we use a Smartsheet as a tracker for a lot of financial tracking, the connection with Power BI is super solid and user-friendly, which allows us to create amazing reports and dashboards using the available Smartsheet data.

What do you like best about the product?
We like the accountability smartsheet gives so we know when and who updated the contents of a cell. We also like email notifications so we can get instant updates on when changes were made to a specific sheet.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our biggest issue with smartsheet is that we cannot control who can see what in a specific sheet. If the employee is shared on the sheet then they see EVERYTHING - which we find to be disappointing as we would love to be able to have management and employees using the same sheet with different views (access).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps us solve the business communication lag that most businesses struggle with. When our employees or colleagues update a specific smartsheet we get immediate notification about the change which gives us more power to review and respond to the update faster than with other applications.

What do you like best about the product?
Tasked To function with email notifications and ability to create a report with all tasks from all sheets organized by due date. Comments function being easily integrated but doesn't clog up the sheet.
What do you dislike about the product?
Really just the cost - I work for an academic institution with tight purse strings. The culture of my workplace is relatively old school, so I am the only person on my team that uses it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am the program manager for two QI collaboratives that are multi-site, so there are many stakeholders and sub-projects involved that I need to keep track of. I am about to track everything I need to keep track of, and it is very easy to find the info in a few clicks. I have everything linked through Smartsheet (I still have to use Google, Dropbox, OneNote because that's what higher-ups prefer), so it makes a very well-organized homebase. Smarthseet has really just made me way more organized and increased my overall efficiency. I wish I could get other colleagues to use it, so I could better utilize the collaboration functions.
