Very user friendly and is exactly what we needed for document management for the team
What do you like best about the product?
The availability of the document storage, accessibility to our files within the application with all the functionality of an excel spreadsheet for budgeting.
We use this for project management and it is crucial that we keep all of the information in one place so that we only have to go to one application to get the resources we need for our whole group.
It is easy to manage even for the digitally challenged.

What do you dislike about the product?
There is not a lot to dislike, it is a well-thought-out application and provides everything that we were looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Giving us one resource to manage projects, collaborate with the whole team, and storage for documentation in one spot that is needed until the project is complete. The document storage withing a spreadsheet environment is what we were really looking for and found it with Smartsheets.
Aesthetically Pleasing, User Friendly, Functional, Collaborative
What do you like best about the product?
I really like Smartsheet's online platform and ease of use. It's great for an engineer to work collaboratively on technical spreadsheets, but it's also simple enough to share and present information to coworkers or clients who might not be as technologically savvy.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I were to give a suggestion to Smartsheet on what to add, I would request more elaborate functions and conditions, more similar to excel. I have sometimes found myself wishing I could set a condition to a cell or write a function that I'm used to in excel but Smartsheet doesn't have quite as much depth.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet provides the most collaborative and organized way of allowing a team to simultaneously work on a spreadsheet. The autosave and the way new edits populate are much smoother than I have experienced with Excel through Onedrive, and there's no need to wait for someone else to finish up with the document before editing as would be done on a common drive.

What do you like best about the product?
I really like automated workflows and how Smartsheet sends notifications externally, to user email addresses. Also, being able to upload or attach documents to rows helps me stay organized and on track.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartheet has a ton of functionality when it comes to formulas. However, I find the formulas to be difficult to understand and generate. I would like to see more training resources made available around formula generation and how formulas can be used to increase function and efficiency.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I really appreciated Smartsheet's project management template set. These templates have helped me transform project plans into trackable, actionable line items that I can easily share and assign with team members. The reports I am able to build off of my project's source sheets have helped me to track outstanding tasks and stay within my timelines.
Good if you know excel
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to create a list, commands and actions are very similar to excel. Easy to download a report of your sheet.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to create automations. Hard to search for automations when you don't know what to look for. It would be good to have suggested actions pop up for automations and options to duplicate that automation throughout the sheet. For example, I have a large project sheet that relies on dates and data pulled from another department's sheet, if I do not manually link it each time, nothing happens. For a company like ours that runs 300+ projects a year, that part is extremely tedious.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows me to combine all projects on one sheet with alerts for users. Although it is limited, it is a feature google sheets didnt offer.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the collaboration features. It is very easy to collaborate with team members and send custom notifications or updates. I like the project timeline feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
When Commenting on a row, I want to be able to use text features in the comment (ex: Bold, underline, alternate colors. I want to be able for formal specific words or text within a cell, without formatting the entire cell.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solves the problem of communicating across teams. We can update a single sheet in Smartsheet and update any other linked sheets automatically just by linking the cells in the sheet. Helpful for managing project timelines.
Smartsheet is an effective requesting and project management tool
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy that Smartsheets can handle a large amount of data that is put into the tool, while still saving quickly and allowing multiple users to be functioning in the same sheet at the same time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that Smartsheet had a user interface that was a little more friendly, where we could use more diverse colors and images when setting up our sheet. I would additionally like to see more options for the WorkApps.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheets functions as a requesting tool where stakeholders can come in and submit a request for my team to execute. Additionally, we have a functional dashboard where we can keep track of the workflow for each request and properly perform the tasks assigned to multiple personnel to complete the requests.
SmartSheet is a super easy program to learn and understand!
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy the fact that allows the user to get notifications and be able to follow up and comment to other co-works. It is an extremely useful tool to stay organized and on task.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one thing that I would add to smart sheets is the ability to have different tabs for the reports. I would like to be able to have all data that pertains to a section in one location, and also have the ability to have my client's information separated by the different tabs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me stay on task with my work and see what needs to be done and what is a top priority. I tend to stray from project to project without completing the previous one. This program has assisted me in getting me to where I need to go.
Has helped collaboration while working remote tremendously
What do you like best about the product?
We discovered Smartsheet pre-Covid, but it really helped us a lot to collaborate when we went remote during the pandemic. I love that it allows us to be in a sheet at the same time without any difficulties. I also love the tools and capabilities for forms and data collection, which is another way we use it a lot.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is mostly a preference, but we still try to treat Smartsheet like excel in many ways, and it is frustrating when you cannot complete actions you are used to doing in excel in Smartsheet, especially since the tool mimics excel in many other ways.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data collection, collaboration, data analysis. We were using excel and google forms to collect and analyze data previously, and sharing these tools between team members created problems when many people edit and save. Smartsheet eliminated this problem for us. Since the tool is cloud-based, it also allows us access to information no matter where we are.

What do you like best about the product?
The changes can be seen immediately by the whole team, which makes the team's collaboration much easier. And also it has the style of an excel spreadsheet, which is easy to get started without much learning curve.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think Smartsheet is really good and handy tool for project management and team collaboration. Couldn't think of much I dislike but one thing that bothered me was that I couldn't hide some columns when I'm updating a wide smartsheet page. I could like to see what the first column is when I'm updating the column far to the right. Or something like "freezing" a column in Excel would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is very handy in terms of project planning. It's very smart and quite similar to MS project when I create the project plan. The features are easier to use compared with MS Project. It's based on Cloud so the changes can be published to the whole team immediately.
Smartsheet: The Solution You Need
What do you like best about the product?
The Automations are amazing! One of my favorite features is that I can program Automations to remind me of due dates, notify me of new submissions or alert me to errors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet continuously builds out and releases new features. They do a great job of advertising upcoming releases, but the wait time feels long, and I often lose track of when that feature is being released among other releases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I needed a system that would allow me to maintain lists of candidates, open roles, org chart roles, hired candidates and a staff roster. Smartsheets tools and systems have allowed me to have several lists or break down a more extensive list into more minor reports and automate updates so that if something occurs on one list, the update is shared with another list.
