Very Versatile Product
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Smarsheet is the ability to share sheets and workspaces with people outside of your organization without having to provide them with an AD account. The second best feature is that users who just need to update something in one of sheets or look at a report / dashboard, do not need a license.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main downside of Smartsheet is that functionality that should be standard (such as the Smartsheet pivot app) is only available as an additional cost add ons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The benefits we have realized from using Smartsheet are providing a simple way to set up standard project artificact templates (project schedule, RAID log, dashboard, financial tracker, etc) that can be copied over to new workspaces for new projects. Using the templates this way, we were able to ensure that all project managers are using the same artifacts which made setting up and maintaing a portfolio dashboard really easy. The other business issue that Smartsheet solved for us was basic change control for our ERP using easy to set up Smartsheet workflows. The only hitch to the workflows is that the requestor in our workflow has to type in their email address as Smartsheet does not have a way to pick up who is filling out the form but this is a minor inconvience.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the low code automation and simplified user interface. Smartsheet has enabled IJM to establish this powerful platform as a core enterprise tool in less than four months. The Jump Start package is worth it, especially in early adoption and setting things in motion quickly. We have used it for some global projects covering 14 countries, the collaboration and seamless integration into Office 365 MS Teams and Salesforce platforms enabled end users to update status on the go, and the reporting has helped us streamline our portfolio and project reporting. I highly recommend Smartsheet to anyone in Project Management, Technology Initiatives big or small, the collaboration tools and ease of use have allowed us to be agile and make decisions on critical paths against multiple competing priorities. Love the ability to have live published dashboards to stakeholders internally real-time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet has limitations in resource leveling compared to its competitors, and although the acquisition of 10,000 ft, they lack seamless integration compared to MS PROJECT and other industry platforms.

Smartsheet has enabled IJM to plan projects consistently, deploy globally and create standardized reporting.
It is an excellent tool that allows you to automate and monitor the main operational processes

Unavailability of many useful Excel formulas;
- Impossibility of performing access permission at column level;
- Limitations of formatting and distribution of information in the summary report;

Online Applications and Faculty Recommendation Forms
What do you like best about the product?
During the pandemic, we converted all of our paper applications and recommendation forms for our STEM programs to online applications using Smartsheet. This new online process is more efficient for both students and staff. Instead of manually entering student data in a spreadsheet and filing paper applications in cabinets, the online applications are instantly generated into the Smartsheet spreadsheet and are now safely stored on OneDrive for record keeping. In turn, this has freed up cabinet space for program supplies.
What do you dislike about the product?
When creating online applications and forms, I wish there were more options to customize font styles and sizes. Also, it is difficult to collaborate with co-workers that are only partial users. I also wish there was an auto-save function, instead of having to click the save button after each edit I make, which can be a bit frustrating at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since using Smartsheet for our program online applications and forms it has made not only my work more efficient but also for both students and staff. What do you like best about the product?
We are a small team and we collaborate on nearly all of our output in some form or fashion. Smartsheet enables us to store work in a single location, then use automation to share it, get feedback, and move processes along.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few tedious things such as file size limitations. I'd like to see forms enhanced to be a bit more robust, though they do work for our purposes at this time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Across our team, we use Smartsheet for budgeting, task management, digital asset storage, proofing, and much more. The tool allow us to collaborate within the team, then share the output outside of team, whether it be inside the company, or with external vendors.

What do you like best about the product?
The Smartsheet user interface is clean and easy to navigate. It provides a concise, streamlined view of project tasks and timelines. I appreciate the multiple ways to view the project timeline (calendar, Gantt, etc).
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see some functionality added that shows deadlines for tasks and whether or not they were met on time, late, etc. It would also be good to have more flexibility for when multiple people or groups are responsible for the same task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team is rapidly growing and we need to find ways to efficiently collaborate on both small-scale and large-scale projects. Smart sheet helps us organize tasks for each team member and shows us the overall project trajectory as well.

What do you like best about the product?
It's great to use for trackers. Our department uses Smartsheet to manage many different trackers and it helps that it's real time and multiple people can update at once. Also the dashboard function is a great feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has some limitations when creating dashboards (ie, when linking a document from another sheet, it expires after 30 days). It does take time to get used to using as it may not be the most user friendly at first especially if you use Exel a lot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The dashboard function helps when compiling multiple sheets/dashboards together for our vendors to use so it's all in one location. So if they have a problem or question, we tell them to go to that dashboard (one-stop shop).
If you can dream it, Smartsheets will help you create it
What do you like best about the product?
The upside of using Smartsheets is how flexible it is. It is like a blank canvas that you can use to create what you need to properly run your business. With all the add-on features, it's straightforward to make what you need.
What do you dislike about the product?
At the same time, all that flexibility is sometimes its downfall because it is tough to set controls. Sometimes you want things to be rigid or more structured so that it is easy to set rules. Also, it's pricy for the software, especially for a small business.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smarthsheets acts as an enterprise resource system right now for our business and it solves the need for that while being flexible enough for a small business that needs to change things quickly.
If you project manage, you're going to want to use this!
What do you like best about the product?
Efficient and productive tool for task management; I appreciate the ability to assign different properties to task items and that it is a live process. This helps when collaborating with partners and internal team members. It helps keep email chains at a minimum and clarity at a maximal.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside is that the primary rows are a bit limited in how you can use them. It could be better to be able to enable or disable them. By disabling it, you'd have an empty sheet with no binding functions from the primary row and more freedom in organizing it.

Smartsheet creates various ways to smoothly and conveniently stay organized. It has helped me in different projects, tasks and personal workflow management. It also helps create reports that summarize other aspects of a project. Smartsheet is an excellent software for collaborating with a big team and project. It provides the ability to oversee others' tasks and set a timeline. These are crucial to meeting timely deadlines and an organized flow if managing multiple projects.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet allows you to create multiple pages for tracking and documenting information, and linking it to all pages related to each project. It is easy to share and collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders. The dashboard feature is highly appreciated by clients for weekly and monthly updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the formula abilities are more difficult than other tools, which makes it hard to integrate with the beneficial features of Smartsheet. It would be great to have more flexibility with organizing data with formulas in the columns and rows to better analyze data and directly link to dashboards.

Smartsheet is helping with tracking projects from a business perspective for high-level overview of how all projects are tracking, where concerns are raised, and which projects could lead to additional work. It also helps with collaboration and tracking project work for large groups and several activities.
