What do you like best about the product?
I love sending out notes to team members straight from the sheets. Several different methods of communication take the users directly to the sheet and area that I need them to be in. I like the reports that can be generated and the ease of reporting.
What do you dislike about the product?
I miss some of the formulas that are available in Excel. Due to the limited formulas, I often send my data to Excel, run it, and then import it back to SmartSheet. The one that I need the most is the "Proper" formula. I would love to see some of these integrated into SmartSheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SmartSheet has put all our work in one area. This makes it easier to work on data without having multiple platforms available. This also improves our ability to run reports on the data.
An easy way to create data-driven surveys for project management!
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Smartsheet allows users to track the data for their surveys in an easy-to-use data sheet built into the module. It allowed me to export the data and customize our findings in excel much easier than other survey platforms.

What do you dislike about the product?
Unless I just haven't found it, I thought that there could be some valuable tutorials embedded in Smartsheet's survey creation tool. When I initially began using the platform, I often had to play around with the different tools in survey creation as I didn't find it the most intuitive system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allowed my team and I to create a survey to track engagement and field responses for our project. The easy-to-use data table that tracks survey responses and when surveys were completed was the best way for us to manage and track field engagement with our project.

What do you like best about the product?
It's very user-friendly and straightforward! It is very easy to add attachments, provide comments, respond to comments, etc. It requires much less training to use than other similar programs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found many issues with Smartsheet so far. The only thing I run into sometimes is that sometimes the sheet will automatically refresh with edits in real-time, while other times, I will make edits only to realize later I need to refresh to see others' changes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet makes it a lot easier to streamline visibility and approval for our projects. Instead of sending materials separately to different teams and keeping track of their feedback, we can now have everything in one place. This makes our process much quicker and more efficient.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease to attach files to rows. That's it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet is a bad hybrid between a spreadsheet and a task management software. It just plays both roles very poorly. Monday.com is way better at task management, and Excel is unarguably the best spreadsheet option out there.
Support at Smartsheet is deficient if not null. Their automations and integrations are basic, their add ons are expensive and disfunctional (I tried Data Shuttle, useless and unintuitive).
Make yourself and your company a favor. Avoid Smartsheet.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We tried using it for Task and Project Management, but then discovered Monday.com which is substantially superior. We are currently using it as an online spreadsheet for calculations that involve multiple sheets, but are looking for alternatives.
Smartsheet has made my work more efficient & accurate.

I appreciate and benefit from the automation, collaboration and reporting functionality.

I dislike that others often are hesitant to use/embrace the software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Missing tasks/items that we need to address for events within the large weekends we host. Because we can set up automated reminders, we can keep everyone on track.
The reporting functionality is also beneficial to us. We can house all the details of an event in one sheet but can easily pull what needs for different audiences into a report.
I also appreciate that I can publish reports so those who are not shared with the sheet can see it. We use this to publish tentative schedule before we build our registration site.

Very good experience in using smartsheet.
What do you like best about the product?
There are multiple items that I like on smartsheet. First, it's online and many users can edit on the file simultaneously. Second, you can have a source file and link other smartsheet files and to the source file and only show relevant columns. It has a different views and I like the Ghantt view the most.Lastly, you can create your own dashboard with multiple widgets to choose from.
What do you dislike about the product?
Writing a formula is hard in smartsheet. Some of the formula working fine in the excel is not working in smartsheet. If I can use the formula that I usually use in excel then this will be a good working platform.
Also, I can only paste 500 rows of data one at a time, making it longer to transfer data from another source to smartsheet.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The dashboard is excellent because it can be used during meetings and presentation. I can display different kinds of information and can choose multiple widgets to display the data.
Great product but with certain limitations
What do you like best about the product?
Overall UI and UX with ease of learning and use, capablity and performance as compared to excel and google sheets. Ability to trigger notifications via emails and collaborate with other teams. Also, ability to import MPP files is a great feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has a very limited capability to work with functions and formulas. I cannot apply most common functions and formulas within smartsheets as compared to what googe sheet or excel provide which become a handicap sometimes when I need to deduce some metrics based on data in my smartsheets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I faced major roadblocks when working with Google Sheets as far as performance is concerned as google sheets became unresponsive when my data hit several thousand rows. Smartsheet helped me overcome that challenge but not smartsheet also seems to have reached its limit and making a small change in my smartsheet taked a few seconds to a monute or two to get saved and refreshed which is very very frustrating and this is the reason I'm looking to move away from smartsheets now.
Great Product Management Tool!
What do you like best about the product?
I use Smartsheet daily for the management of a large grant. Our clients have their own dashboards and can see their progress toward the grant goals. The program helps my team stay organized and be in the know about what is going on.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside of Smartsheet is that I cannot use it fully. I am in the process of doing some of the training included in my subscriptions because I want to learn more about the template features and how to make one sheet talk to the other. The other hard part is that some document creation features are pretty cumbersome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems Smartsheet is solving is around the use of the dashboards and making the reporting process better. I have used some of the new features but am interested in learning more.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is great because you can attach documents to each line, and it has nesting capabilities in multiple sections of a single spreadsheet. It also allows you to create forms that will auto-populate into the Smartsheet spreadsheet, which makes data-gathering so much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
I love being able to undo...undo...undo...multiple times in excel. If you're working in a Smartsheet with someone else simultaneously, you cannot undo an action if the other person has made a change after you. You also cannot have version control like you can in the Excel online version. Let's say you saved the latest edits and realize you made a mistake. Since you cannot "undo" a change once saved, that becomes the true version. You cannot go back to the previous copy or version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet makes collecting data much easier by dropping it into a spreadsheet. You can also store necessary documents on each data line, which is convenient, like a data warehouse.
