SmartSheet is Great for Collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
I like that SmartSheet has the ability to collaborate with multiple people and that it's so robust. You can use it for forms and workflow automation, which is great since other products on the market don't combine all of those things.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do wish that the forms and workflow automation had some additional customization to it. Sometimes it is not as granular with options as I would like it to be. Having some more API usage would also be valuable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is mostly solving the problem of needing one tool that all my team can view and work on at the same time that is also a repository for information that is coming from other users through the forms add-on.
Overall Positive Experience Using Smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoy the seamless connectivity between Sheets and their corresponding Forms. In my role, I'm trying to streamline more of our manual tasks, and Forms allows me to gather the needed information easily. I can then seamlessly review the data and organize it within the Sheet.

What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet being so heavily row-based is still somewhat challenging, so I have not entirely switched everything from Excel to Smartsheet for my needs.
I was not a big fan of using Smartsheet initially, but as I became more familiar with its functionalities/workflows, I started using it for more tasks than I initially anticipated.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet creates a more streamlined environment for my team and me to collaborate and track our projects without having to have regular status update meetings. The different workflows within our Sheets, and connection to Forms, has been a game changer for tracking tasks and gathering information all in one place!
A quick, intuitive way to organize data and collaborate
What do you like best about the product?
I prefer Smartsheet over Excel due to the excellent user interface and the ability to share the sheet with multiple collaborators. It is very easy to organize sheets and incorporate functions that would have involved multiple programs into one web-based, easy-to-access program.
I frequently use Smartsheet to conduct inventory control, and this has been extremely helpful with simple calculations required, as well as linking multiple sheets.

What do you dislike about the product?
Though easy to use and very intuitive, Smartsheet lacks some fundamental function of Excel. For example, the lookup function is almost non-existence, or the analysis dashboard is not the best to use compared to the function of Pivot table.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is helping to solve the issue with collaboration in a single, simple to use program instead of having to email excel sheet back and forth between collaborating parties. Smartsheet also has the function of creating forms which has been extremely helpful for "survey" types of collaboration.
Great for Basic Use, Needs Excel-Like Shortcuts
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that Smartsheet acts as a dynamic, updated online tool that avoids the need to resend Excel files after every update. I love how it maintains some of the keyboard shortcuts from Excel, making certain tasks intuitive. I find the reminder feature invaluable for managing long-term tasks, sending me email alerts when needed. Adding notes to lines is intuitive, allowing multiple collaborators to update with timestamps, enhancing teamwork. The affordability and utility of basic features are ideal for our small sales team, making it a practical choice.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it challenging that Smartsheet's keyboard shortcuts differ from Microsoft Excel, particularly with basic functions like copying and pasting. This inconsistency can be frustrating, especially since I'm used to Excel's interface. Additionally, the limitation on copying and pasting only 500 rows at a time is problematic for my work, especially after an acquisition that increased the number of parts we manage. Also, the control functions for actions like cut and paste aren't always aligned with Excel, which complicates my workflow since I frequently use these features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheet to easily manage and update our internal price lists without manually sending Excel files, ensuring everyone has current data instantly. It's dynamic and simplifies sharing updates within our sales and customer service teams.

Smartsheet for Manufacturing
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has been an excellent tool for implementing Scrum Agile into our manufacturing processes. Works well for all of our product development efforts, too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet does not currently allow touch screen card movement via touch screen monitors UNLESS you are using their app on a smartphone or similar device. We are now trying to figure out a way to use 55 - 60" touch monitors and Smartsheet for different work cells to move cards without needing to drive via a computer mouse. Smartsheet should be smart enough to detect card drag and drop moving on regular touch monitors using web-based software. Not limited to smartphone applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is a great way to show real-time progress on projects while creating valuable dashboards to put that progress out to other team members/stakeholders.

What do you like best about the product?
I LOVE that I can attach documents and leave comments. I also like that I can link my sheets to dashboards and create reports. I love the card view (though it took me some time to figure out) and the gantt view and I have found the templates to be very useful. I am a huge fan of this sheet that is not a fully functional spreadsheet (for that, I would use Excel) but has great features that Excel (in combination with Microsoft Suite) cannot do.
What do you dislike about the product?
I HATE most of the permission settings--sometimes I want to be able to share limited data (in a dynamic way) with others and I don't like that I have to share the original data source (with all my data) just to see the limited data. Otherwise, I have to publicly share the data source, which I don't like. Using the formulas can also be really confusing and I'm not always sure how to set it up effectively. Or how to lock the data from being edited. Mostly, my grievances with SmartSheet is the permissions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My work is miscellaneous and random, and I needed a way to track the various tasks I do in an effective way. I needed the ability to record my tasks, receive reported instances/events, follow up on them, and track my progress on them using time-stamped, uneditable notes. This was my primary purpose and it has been great for those needs. The main problem that Smartsheet is not solving that I wish it were is reporting back on these tasks and projects without giving visibility to the whole of it.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet allows our team to collaborate in one space. Whether it be status updates, proof reviews, or meeting deadlines -- Smartsheet keeps us aligned. Setting up automation for projects has also been a huge asset. With this, we must be responsible on the project's terms rather than micro-manage all tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think Smartsheet could be better about expanding beyond its current limitations. Regarding design and structure, I wish we had more options like you do in Excel. For forms, I hope that one day you can send emails to those who need a response; only info is required, not a link to the sheet.

Before Smartsheet, we did everything in separate excel sheets in multiple areas for people to access. You never could track down the most updated version, which required emailing others different versions. With Smartsheet, we can collaborate in one space and see updated project details and who is responsible for each task.
User friendly & Great Service
What do you like best about the product?
I like that this system is easy to use from a project management perspective. I have been using Smartsheet for about 4 years, but more regularly since working remotely. It helps me to manage tasks/projects with other colleagues working remotely in other areas of the country. I think it's the best and most useful management tool based on ease of use as well as a strong knowledgebase system readily available to users like me. I would say make the investment in this product if you need something quick and easy and is always current with technology updates and resources.

Nothing that I dislike that comest to mind and this would be an honest opinion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet makes it to organize and transition projects between colleagues who work remotely in other areas of the country. We don't have to rely on hoping on to multiple video conferences to sort through project tasks. We can rely on having a steady and streamlined tool like Smartsheet to keep our project on track and others on task. This system is a pretty sophisticated project management tool. It would be the best in the market at this time in my opinion.
Smartsheet makes GANTT charts simple yet powerful
What do you like best about the product?
I love the GANTT chart functionality of Smartsheet. It works really well, and is simple to configure things like assignments and dependencies, task grouping etc. That's just one aspect of what Smartsheet is good at though, you can layer in much more complex reporting and dashboards which take the functionality even further.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the integration with third parties seem very powerful, but these additional modules are quite expensive and also difficult to test for effectiveness without investment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gives us a great tool for project timelines which we can share and send to our clients for visibility and collaboration. It's the most effective tool I have worked with to achieve those things.
