Enterprise Solution for PM Best Practices and Metrics
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is fully customizable and able to perform complex data analysis. Personalized Dashboards, tailored to the desired audiences are easy to create and modify on the fly. Also, the metrics can rollup across the enterprise to provide keen insight.

What do you dislike about the product?
In Dashboard development, I wish you could group items instead of moving individual elements. It would be helpful.
When viewing reports with multiple sheets, it would be great to save filters and be able to reuse them.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My program consists of 1460 construction sites, procurement, scheduling resources and delivering the installs, plus reporting back to Sponsors. all of this in North America, but the client is global. Having access to real-time metrics, completions and - MOST importantly, managing by exception is all handled by how we have structured our tiered sheets and report. Quite simply, I couldn't do my job without Smartsheet.
User-friendly Automations and Reports
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is very user-friendly. You can easily set up automation even with limited experience with similar products. The simplicity of having very detailed reports and easy-to-understand dashboards is second to none. With their great customizability, you can achieve the exact look you are looking for in your dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice if the sheet filter options could choose "and/or" when looking for multiple criteria. The "all or none" limitation of the filters does not allow you to customize the returned data you are looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used to have a breakdown in our vendor onboarding process. Now with Smartsheet, we have multiple automations paired with multi-level approvals. Smartsheet has helped us keep the approvals moving and allowed us to spend less manual time keeping track of the status.
I live in Smartsheet every day at work as the Lead Project Manager!

What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice to have a full-on integration with Google Gmail and MS Outlook. Do you have such an integration? Also, while I use the online forms to have users ENTER information into Smartsheet; it would be nice to be able to QUERY INFORMATION FROM the online forms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Overall program/project management through the base product and project status reporting through the Dashboarding function. Also, I was able to develop an online service request intake/management/processing platform using Smartsheet which is now the platform of choice for our recurring Sprint Management. Finally, the email notification automation has been a GOD SEND!

What do you like best about the product?
While offering a robust suite of functionality, Smartsheet still remains easy to use and understand. while there may be some limitations you run across, the 3rd party integration offerings do a good job of accomodating whatever lingering features you think are missing.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is always a balance between ease of use and functionality in any software platform. It's just the nature of the IT beast, especially when it comes to data management, project tracking, and workflow operations. Personally, I've come to appreciate more of the intricate functions Smartsheet has to offer, but my biggest gripe would be more design around "sub-tasks."
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a centralized location where team members can track complex data over the project schedule. It has enabled our team to more consistently deliver our clients service that is organized and cohesive through different departments in our own company.
An amazing software that can automate your tough jobs!
What do you like best about the product?
There are many things, but I love being able to create a survey form, send it out in 15 minutes, collect all the data, and begin using it. I love the automation and the ability to automate emails with information to my team. The programmability that I have with excel has perfect crossover with little overthought on how to make it work.
What do you dislike about the product?
No way to easily track conversion on form submission conversion. That's one piece that is challenging for me right now. I'd love to be able to track website conversion with form submissions which I get the data and can manually track conversions but its manual and tedious where if there was a way to issue a server request I could complete the analysis.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used it to automatically distribute web leads to my entire sales team by scripting it to reference a master table and send the leads to our 125 sales engineers throughout our company. I was even able to program it to identify spam and out-of-territory requests and correctly handle those entries.
A brilliant, user-friendly, and powerful platform.
What do you like best about the product?
In my experience, the best thing about Smartsheet is the platform's user-friendliness. When I began using Smartsheet, I had minimal experience using Microsoft excel. My entry into Smartsheet was as a user of project management schedules, which eventually evolved into authoring those schedules myself. I have become a Smartsheet guru and champion, having developed creative and flexible project management solutions. The best part is that I still have so much to learn and master.
If you're looking for a Project Management solution, Smartsheet has another crucial benefit for teams with varying experience levels. No matter what your team's comfort level is, Smartsheet can adapt. I've trained folks who don't want to know anything outside of essential copy-paste solutions and conditional formatting. I've also taught those who wish to master complex formulas and take a shot at coming up with more advanced solutions. Those basics are straightforward to execute, meaning even your tech-uncomfortable teammates can feel like Smartsheet Magicians. The level of complexity that Smartsheet enables from formulas and automations means you'll rarely have a problem it cannot solve.
Finally, the community of Smartsheet users is filled with brilliant folks who aim to understand your problem and offer various solutions so you can pick what fits best with your knowledge and comfort. Whenever I've been stuck, heading to the Smartsheet community has solved my problem with a browse or post. If you're looking for walkthrough solutions, Smartsheet has that too. I've found the training center exponentially expanded my knowledge-- not to mention learning complex formulas was simply fun.

There are a few downsides to Smartsheet; however, I can't name them directly. I've found that they come up when I'm training a colleague with experience in another platform. Usually, my answer is, "Sadly, Smartsheet can't do that," or "This is just one of Smartsheet's quirks!".
I've personally encountered frustration when creating a sheet summary. Typing out individual formulas to count 12+ options is time-consuming! However, this could be due to my lack of experience creating sheet summaries. I'm sure there are other frustrations that I've had, but nothing stands out as a pure dislike. They're simply things I've had to find workarounds for.

I have created Production Frameworks for Project Management using Smartsheet. It enables both macro- and micro-level schedules to be made and synced up. Smarsheet has enabled the creation of high-level Project Management schedules, down to schedules to create individual products that involve multiple users checking off tasks to pass them to the next in line. The ability to automate a schedule to eliminate email transmittals, combined with the ease of having updates appear visually in real-time is so valuable. It prevents tasks from falling by the wayside and provides all team members insight into the project as a whole. Additionally, the automations can be tweaked for the project's needs: I've created high-level schedules linked to more granular ones that update in real-time and record actual dates when projects are completed.
I've also used Smartsheet to create dashboards for stakeholders. These dashboards give them quick snapshots into project health, staffing, and more. It's simple and effective to make a graphic that contains everything my stakeholders are looking for, pulled directly from schedules being updated in real-time.

Almost unlimited integrations and a vital documentation and communication tool!
What do you like best about the product?
The number of available integrations you can use is definitely Smartsheet's greatest advantage when compared to similar tools. As a project manager, I use Smartsheet to track project progress, team availability, and release preparation. Soon, I'm looking forward to utilizing other features, like dashboards and WorkApps, as soon as I have time to learn how those features function and what I need to do to set them up. I use Smartsheet every day at my job.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the integrations available within Smartsheet are challenging to set up initially. Fortunately, plenty of support documents and videos guide you through the entire setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps me to track project progress from sprint to sprint and accurately create more precise timelines for project planning. I also use Smartsheet to track and quickly reference team availability during sprint planning meetings to better estimate how much work can be accomplished during the sprint and which departments might need to plan for less work, given upcoming holidays or time off.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the ability to share data across the organization. Smartsheet has so many tools for capturing and visualizing the data - forms, reports, dashboards, and automation... we use Smartsheet every day. They are constantly looking for feedback and improving the system. There are many features in Smartsheet that I wish Excel had - like column formulas and some of the formulas for looking at dates.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has limitations on the amount of data. I hit the max number of rows a lot and have to have multiple sheets when I really only want one. I would love it if they could build it out to be able to be a full fledge database.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Smartsheet to keep track of all of out training materials. We use it to communicate with our implementations team on training needs and the onboarding process. We use it to consolidate and communicate department activities across the organization.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has been a great resource for our group, assisting in our process of moving general reporting (push emails out to multiple parties daily) to a pull mindset. Smartsheet served as a stop-gap to get our internal customers more accustomed to utilizing cloud solutions for dashboards, projects and reporting to drive their overall business. What I most enjoy about Smartsheet is the ease of use, the ability to quickly import data and stand up meaning visuals was extremely helpful for our group.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet is missing a key graphic of duel axis graphs. This graphic is critical to comparing the impact and drivers of two different metrics within a single visual.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet solves version control and the ability to quickly traffic information the teams are working on daily. These insights become avaliable in real time to our customers, which is extremely helpful.
Smartsheet is an excellent collaboration tool.
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has the flexibility and included configurations that make building new apps and workflows easy yet very powerful. Other tools we have used previously required much more IT intervention to initiate, with Smartsheet business users have the ability to move quickly on their own.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, we have experienced very few downsides using Smartsheet. Maybe more prebuilt APIs would allow more expansion of the solution into other areas of our operations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet enables communication workflows to move between departments in our organization with complete transparency. Moving a great deal of project planning and execution out of email and into Smartsheet has helped us to uncover inefficiencies and bottlenecks in our processes.
