Easy, flexible and creative programme management, with advanced features when you need them.
What do you like best about the product?
Easy entry, you can get up and running quickly - with plenty of options to extend into advanced features as you need them. The configuration of tables and items in a non-technical approach works really well. Combining projects, engaging dashboards, and rolled-up views gives every user a view into projects as they need it. Automation is a breeze
What do you dislike about the product?
Dashboards can take some work to shape into precisely what you need, but mostly anything is possible with the creative use of lookup tables and data transformations. Some integrations are a little expensive unless they are a core part of your integration. I wish there were some way to publish data from records into a shareable document format easily.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheets enables our organization to quickly share real-time information about status and performance with stakeholders across a global organization, that was impossible from a single system before.
Great software, easy to use!
What do you like best about the product?
It is quite user friendly and integrates well across the platform (ex: dashboards, reports, linking cells, etc.). The templates are helpful and it feels like a fancier version of excel. I use it as my homepage when I log in in the morning, for agenda/ meeting minutes, approval requests, financial trackers, calendars, etc. - it can be used in many different ways and I like that they can all speak/ link to each other easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing I dislike but I would love to see more advancements in the dashboards. In addition, I wish we could save non-SmartSheet items in our SmartSheet folders so that you could save relevant documents in the same place however I appreciate that SmartSheet has the attachment feature within a smartsheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us organize and track information in a simple way that can be read and easily understood across our organization - helps our teams collaborate more. It helps to save me time, especially the workflows feature as it sends email notifications when certain tasks are complete. It also helps me track historic information that I can then refer back to. It also allows us to share information externally through the publication feature so that we don't have to spend time re-creating an external version of the content.
A replacement for MS Excel worthy of enterprise usages by all
What do you like best about the product?
It is loaded with templates for all types of project management phases. You also have the ability to create reporting using the documents you create with Smartsheet as sources for your reporting and dashboard(s).
What do you dislike about the product?
Using this tool for formulas in cells to calculate seems to be in the early development stage of the cloud app. Also, the creation of dashboards is not very easy. The importation of Microsoft Excel documents are not always 100% as it looks in Excel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have the ability to easily share my project management information with other team members and management. Also, it saves time when I have to create my presentation decks for project meetings. Finally, I like fact that all team member that I allow shared access will get a notification on my updates in real time.
I use Smartsheet for Everything! (almost)
What do you like best about the product?
It is intuitive and easy to learn. There is a lot of flexibility for a wide variety of solutions. Premium apps enhance the experience. Dashboards provide a user friendly visual interface for understanding the underlying data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limitation of 20K rows per sheet - you can work around it, but it's a bit of a pain. Premium apps are an upsell (Go straight for the Advanced Platform if you can).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows me to create visibility to team workloads and workflows. As a supervisor, I can see the work backlog, resource capacity, and project timelines for the work. I've used it to help other teams reconcile complicated processes. We use it for Time Tracking and PTO request tracking. As a no-code solution, it allows me (a non-programmer) to create complex solutions, including automations and detailed reporting, for virtually any problem.
An excellent all-in-one system
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a fairly robust combination of the most used, most needed business functionalities. In one extremely easy to use package you get spreadsheet, project management, reporting, dashboarding, operational process automation, and data integration capabilities. In addition, the help resources and webinars are excellent, making it easy to learn and stay up to date on what is coming next.
What do you dislike about the product?
The primary issue I have encountered is not being to have a la carte pricing. Different organizations have different needs and there are options we would have liked to add to our particular implementation but have chosen not to because we would have to change our entire pricing structure.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use smartsheet for project and portfolio management and are able to connect project data from different teams in the organization into one comprehensive program dashboard. We also use smartsheet for operational processes and are able to provide automation to users, visibility to all, and automatic and on demand reporting for leadership and compliance needs.
Maintain Organzation
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite aspect of Smartsheet are the automations! My team does not always have time for meetings. The automations allow us to add tasks/information and feel confident that nothing will fall throughh the cracks. We have set up automations to notify us when things are changed or added to the sheet. Additionally, the ability to have multiple sheets that are connected is a plus and we love the Dashboards!
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel like the platform needs a fresher look. I look at other platforms such as Monday.com and I want a friendlier format. Additionally, there is quite a learning curve if you are not adept with excel/spreadhseets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has helped us to keep all of the information we need in 1 place. We have so much data and information that needs to be tracked and having this in a platform that allows for us to automate and make connection to the data is helpful.
I really enjoy Smartsheet because it's so versatile.
What do you like best about the product?
The information can be viewed in many ways, and manipulated in many ways, to be custom for different audiences. Plus, the Smartsheet team recently shared formulas to adjust the information in more ways.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the platform can be versatile, it can also be too complicated. The platform can be as easy or as complicated as a person wants it to be. Which can be overwhelming for new users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem has been handling multiple versions of a document by emailing back and forth and back again between team members. Smartsheet allows information to live in one place for anyone to edit or limited to view only.
A very useful business software
What do you like best about the product?
It is very adaptive. We can use it for many office needs. Multiple users can work on sheets at the same time without issue. The cell history options is great for correcting errors.
What do you dislike about the product?
It isn't as deep as we need for Database purposes. Tying long chain values to accumulating sheets has proven to be a bit too large at our company than the software seems to serve. So it hasn't been the best place for house historical data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I track purchases on a rolling log through the software. I then tie those to a master AP we apply invoices agaisnt. it is a wonderful tool for generating customized spreadsheets and entry pages.
The team tool you need
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to solve multiple issues. You can go from inventory control and tracking to dashboards and project management all on Smartsheet. If there is an issue your business wants to address digitally, then this product probably has a solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not enough people are using it outside of my organization. If I want to include them on an approval workflow, I have to get them access. It's an extra step, but once they are setup, it's easy to get them up on how to approve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were using paper logbooks for our boilers. I took an hour and came up with a digital logbook accessed through a QR code. Then I tied that to a dashboard to monitor and graph results. After a couple of days logging conductivity tests, we found a consistently high boiler, and made changes to the boiler to bring it back in line. Without this tool, we would not have identified the issue until we reviewed the logbooks. This digital logbook gave insight into a process that wasn't routinely monitored, and now we have three years of logs that can easily be trended.
Smartsheet is an excellent tool to manage project / program
What do you like best about the product?
Easy of use and feature riched. One of the things I like about smart Sheets is the collaboration and workflow. my customer love this tool, they dont have to wait for a weekly call for project updates they can interact with the project team via smart sheet
What do you dislike about the product?
1- Workflow automation - adding a few more logics will help to get more advanced automation
2- Conditional formatting needs more work
3- whenever someone shares a smart sheet it goes into a general bucket and tries to pull them into their respective workspace it does not work
