Use Smartsheet to streamline project management
What do you like best about the product?
I like the visibility of workflow and status that Smartsheet provides. Having access to my tasks together with their status in one place makes it easier to manage them efficiently, even when distributed teams are involved. I also appreciate how quickly spread sheets can be created on this platform, so users don't have to switch between multiple applications to update or edit a project's progress. The simple dashboard also ensures that everyone on my team knows exactly what they need to do and when it's due. I really appreciate the convenience and organisation that Smartsheet brings to my life.
What do you dislike about the product?
Despite my initial reluctance, I am determined to make the most of Smartsheet so that it becomes a legitimate part of our team's project management process. Unfortunately, not everyone on the teamusesg the platform. This limits its potential impact as there is no way to monitor individual progress without further effort from both of us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Smartsheet, everything is neatly organised and right at my fingertips. This saves me time, which I can use to get more done in less time. It also eliminates the risk of human error as all information is consistently updated across teamsonn one platform.

For users who are new to Smartsheet, some of the widgets within the platform may be complex or difficult to navigate, which could make it challenging to get started. Additionally, the real-time updates feature could be improved to ensure that team members receive the most up-to-date information on project progress.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been using Smartsheet for a year now, and I have to say that it has been a game-changer for our company. One of the most helpful features that I have used is the ability to create forms for Vendor Maintenance Requests. This feature allows me to track the process per stage and monitor the progress of each request, making it easier to report on progress and identify bottlenecks.
Another great feature that we have utilized is the creation of Smartsheet surveys for our SAP GR processes. By creating a form for users to provide feedback on issues they are experiencing, we can gather valuable information to design training and make enhancements where needed.
Finally, we have streamlined our Best Practice Policy update process using Smartsheet. By creating a questionnaire with a contact list, we were able to run the updates like a project, and the updates were automatic. This process used to take three months because it required in-person responses, but now it is a ten-day exercise.

What do you dislike about the product?
- Cell reference limits are very restrictive if you're trying to build out extensive data tracking.
- Sheet size limits are also very restrictive and not good for complex projects. Due to the number of data points we are tracking per project, we run out of space in our sheets very quickly. We need to make 5-10 archive sheets every year and built automations to frequently move projects between sheets.
- Still not sheet restore options, you can only download backups of static data. Rebuilding a sheet if something gets deleted can take hours or days
- Previously, only admin-level users and sheet owners needed licenses. Now, Smartsheet is requiring all of our users to have paid licenses. This will increase our subscription cost so substantially that we are planning on moving away from the platform.

Simplify time management with Smartsheet quality software
What do you like best about the product?
I don't like how complicated Smartsheet can be for users with no previous training. It can be very intimidating at first glance, leading to frustration and hesitation in using the system effectively. To combat this, I think it would help if there were fewer steps or tutorials on the home page to guide existing users through all the available features.

Smartsheet has given me the peace of mind that comes from having a single source of truth for all our project teams. With its easily accessible reports and dashboards, we can see exactly how close projects are to completion and quickly identify potential risks so nothing slips through the cracks.

Absolutely Essential
What do you like best about the product?
I could not survive without this tool. Smartsheet has flexible options, whether building forms, tracking sheets, or creating reports. I take in a lot of data via forms, and the logic-based workflows help ensure I get the correct information from each submitter. I can also send automated confirmations and reminders, saving me a lot of time!
What do you dislike about the product?
There aren't a lot of downsides because they are constantly developing solutions. I wish I could integrate my data with Google, which is what my company uses -- it's possible but costly.

Smartsheet's automations save me time that I might normally need to dedicate to sending mail-merge messages as reminders.

What do you like best about the product?
The user experience is simple to follow. The ease with which we can quickly collaborate across teams, send reminders, approval workflows, or alerts is super easy to set up and manage. Our teams continue to expand the use of Smartsheet throughout the enterprise. In Corporate finance, we continue to find benefits that are helping eliminate manual/tedious processes and add automation and controls.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ability to have "tabs" in a smart sheet; however, I know this is a future rollout, so our team is extremely happy about this addition.

What do you like best about the product?
With its easy-to-use platform and wide range of features, I simply love Smartsheet. Not only does it offer a surprisingly intuitive navigation system like Excel, it allows me to seamlessly collaborate with my team members on projects and tasks without missing any critical steps. In addition, the ability to customise individual dashboards according to specific needs, as well as notifications, makes tracking progress crisp and clear; enabling me to complete things faster, such as creating Gantt charts easily. All of these amazing qualities mean that Smartsheet can compete with the most intimidating and complex management tools out there. This makes it truly one of the most attractive options available.

I dislike how difficult it can be to use Smartsheet to its full potential. Given the generic nature of its templates and starting points, customising your information for complex tasks requires considerable forethought to avoid constant editing or starting pages from scratch. When using this service, planning ahead is crucial to achieving the results you want.

My project management process is streamlined with Smartsheet. From assigning tasks and tracking progress to creating budget sheets and setting up project timelines, it makes everything more efficient for me.
Highly Configurable Collaborative Tool
What do you like best about the product?
It looks and feels very much like Excel so adoption is really easy for users. It's highly configurable, you can use it for so many things. The basic package is relatively inexpensive when compared to other planning tools such as Workday etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Add ons such as Control Centre, Work Apps can be very expensive and basic functionality is missing like ability to freeze rows, apply branding to sheets and reports and un-hiding specific columns. Things that are really simple but, a little on the annoying side.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visibility of projects to allow reporting at programme and portfolio level. We have realised Portfolio Reporting and project management is far more efficient. Other parts of our business have also adopted the project management approaches in the Legal Project Management space and we have client facing dashboards that allow our clients 24/7 updates on their matters. Internal teams are also using it for capacity tracking and management.
Covers all simple, medium and most of complex cases, easy to use for collaboration and visualization
What do you like best about the product?
Understandable visualization (leads to good communication to stakeholders), Excel-like formulas, easy to share, no license need to ivite user for collaboration, Jira connectivity (but this became not relevant for me last few years). Oh, yeah, great documentation: never used support as a user, the knowledge base always helped me.
What do you dislike about the product?
Being MS Project and Excel power user very often facing the limitations. Workarounds are possible, but the resulting project plan becomes too simple - further adjusments demand additional manual work. Again, it is from the MS Project user perspective. Concluding, 95% cases in my work are covered, other are complex and I need to do workarounds and simplifications

Planning, communication to stakeholders, project performance tracking - for all those the product works at the best level. Basically, my scenario is using Smartsheet as a MS Project with collaboration capabilities and availability on different platforms (not only MS Windows)

Smartsheet's main advantage for me is its usability, making it a leading candidate for project management software in my projects. Before using Smartsheet, I had limited experience with Microsoft Excel. Initially, I used Smartsheet to review and print project management schedules created by others, but due to my unique project management strategies, I am now a Smartsheet expert and advocate. Smartsheet's adaptability to teams with varying skill levels is also significant, as it can accommodate simple and complex requirements. I have instructed those colleagues seeking fundamental skills, such as conditional formatting and copy/paste, and guided them through more intricate formulas and solutions. With its powerful formula and automation capabilities, Smartsheet can tackle virtually any obstacle.

Creating a summary sheet presented numerous challenges, which I attribute to my lack of experience in this field. It took significant time to type separate algorithms for over 10 options manually.

Smartsheet enables me to quickly create project management automation and features, such as high-level calendars and schedules that require multiple users to check off tasks before passing them along. Its real-time updates and scheduling to reduce email communication are highly advantageous for me, as they prevent tasks from being overlooked and give everyone a clear project overview. The automation feature can be customized to meet the specific requirements of a project, including creating hierarchical schedules linked to comprehensive plans that are updated in real-time and tracking the exact dates on which activities are completed.
