Maintain complete project records in Smartsheet, regardless of size or complexity

  • April 13, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like Smartsheet best because it provides an easy-to-use, comprehensive project management system. It allows me to stay organized and keep track of tasks by providing a real-time view of progress using visuals such as calendars, Gantt charts, timelines, or grid views. Having a common workspace, accessible from any device, where I can quickly share updates with my team members, keeps us all on the same page when coordinating projects that involve far-flung collaborators across multiple continents. The ability to create checklists within each cell of a sheet streamlines communication between multiple users while keeping accountability at the forefront, making this tool invaluable.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the lack of an auto-save feature in Smartsheet extremely frustrating. Without it, users must manually ensure that changes made to sheets are saved properly, a process that is both tedious and time-consuming. This limits productivity, as the convenience of autosaving via web browsers that I see in Google Apps would be greatly appreciated in Smartsheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Smartsheet, I can keep track of all my large and complex projects with multiple workstreams in an organized way. Collaboration between managers is smoother because we have a centralized platform to keep track of every detail in one place.

Simple, effective and flexible tool to track deliverables based on your specific needs.

  • April 13, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of sharing and editing in a central location from anywhere in the world is incredibly appealing. Smartsheet is easy to use, easy to share and security minded.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see Smartsheet improve or increase the flexibility of scheduling and Gantt views. For instance, having all activity on one row instead of creating sub rows. Additionally, I'd like more flexibility when sharing sheets and reports. For example, the ability to set locks based on user-sharing privileges.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem Smarthseet solves is the ability to keep shared data and documents in one location without emailing back and forth. This dramatically improves the speed and efficiency of data sharing, allowing us to focus on more critical tasks.

Smartsheet makes spreadsheets easier

  • April 12, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to collaborate with others on the same Smartsheet and how it is always accessible with the latest information.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that you have to log into the online Smartsheet environment every time you wish to open a Smartsheet, however, with the new release of the desktop app, this is now resolved and the system is even easier to use.
Even with the ability to create folders and Favorites, keeping track and easily accessing Smartsheets can be a bit tedious.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previous Excel spreadsheets were shared via email and maintaining versioning was nearly impossible. Smartsheet creates a seamless way to maintain accurate and updated data. Alerts and Notifications are key to our success, notifying users when specific activities occur within a sheet. Our sheets are no longer just a dashboard of static data, but now have become actionable and accountable pieces of data.

How smartsheet surprised me with its features, despite some challenges

  • April 12, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The thing I enjoy most about Smartsheet is its ability to automate tasks and create personalized reports. This automation saves time, letting us concentrate on other parts of our projects, while the tailored reports give us useful information for making informed choices.
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that Smartsheet can be difficult for beginners to learn is my main concern with it. Despite being useful, the software's extensive feature set can make navigation and locating the appropriate tools challenging. Additionally, I believe that a better onboarding experience would do a lot to boost users' confidence when they first use the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet addresses the challenge of managing multiple projects simultaneously. With its Gantt charts, calendar views, and other visualization tools, we can better understand our project timelines and dependencies. This clarity enables us to prioritize tasks effectively and allocate resources more efficiently, ultimately leading to increased overall performance.

Discover how Smartsheet streamlines complex operations and projects

  • April 12, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I'm continually impressed by Smartsheet's power, versatility and ease of use. From its meticulously designed templates to its time tracking capabilities and automation options, Smartsheet has enabled my team to be more organized in our workflows. It even saves us valuable time with an intuitive interface that keeps everyone informed of project status or changes with real-time updates, so everyone knows when tasks are completed or adjustments need to be made. The platform's flexible design allows for customization that extends to post-launch operations, making it a powerful solution for any business operation that needs an efficient, trackable system.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how Smartsheet's real-time updates often misrepresent the latest changes, making it frustrating when more than one person is working on a sheet as their edits take precedence. The inexplicable movement of multiple rows to the page footer is also irritating, and complicated configurations may be required for those who need full editing power over a sheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Smartsheet has allowed me to stay organized and on top of our client information, sales strategies, and project profitability. I can store all the necessary client data in a single master sheet for easy access at any time from any device.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The workflow automation feature has significantly improved productivity within my team, allowing us to automate repetitive tasks and focus on higher-value activities. Smartsheet's real-time tracking capabilities have been crucial in managing our sales pipeline and ensuring that we are on track to meet our targets. The platform is highly customizable, making it possible to create unique, streamlined processes tailored to our specific needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have experienced occasional trackpad issues when trying to click and drag items within Smartsheet. Report summaries, while helpful, could benefit from more robust visualization options to make data interpretation easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The platform's collaboration features enable our teams to work together seamlessly, streamlining the decision-making process and ensuring everyone is aligned. Smartsheet's visibility functions have given us greater insight into project status and resource allocation, which has been invaluable in making data-driven decisions. The organization's culture of accountability and transparency has been cultivated through the use of information-sharing features. I use Smartsheet on a daily basis, and it has greatly contributed to my success in the business environment.

Tackling complex projects made easier with this powerful tool

  • April 10, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy using Smartsheet because it helps teams stay on top of their work and remain organized. It has easy-to-use templates and dashboards for showing data, and it highlights important tasks with conditional formatting. Plus, the mobile app lets people work on projects from anywhere.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet can be challenging for new users because there is so much to understand. When working with large datasets, it can also be slow, which slows down operations. Finally, I wish there were more methods to customise reports and charts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has greatly improved the project management and organisation of our team. It enables us to successfully plan, track, and execute activities while ensuring that everyone is on the same page. Smartsheet has increased our overall efficiency and reduced the risk of errors by centralising all project-related information and automating certain operations.

Easier than MS Project and more refined than using Excel

  • April 10, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to add functions and formulas in the sheets to calculate values. Then those can be used in dashboards to share with others.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some advanced functions are an additional cost or not supported. It would be nice if you had access to smart sheets, you get full access to what is usable and do not have an additional charge for an advanced function. Rolling up a project percentage to a central dashboard would be nice as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to create the list of work and then associated that list of work to the overall workload.

An effective time management solution

  • April 10, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I find Smartsheet to be incredibly easy to use and cost-effective, making it ideal for managing a variety of tasks. It's as easy to use as Excel, but offers powerful business intelligence features so you don't need technical training to run scripts or schedule projects efficiently. I can also share information with external clients or within internal teams without the other person having to download additional software - this alone has saved me countless hours! All in all, Smartsheet offers unbeatable value compared to similar project management tools, and that's why I use its services whenever possible.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I were to move away from Smartsheet, the lack of effective integration with other Microsoft applications would be a major issue. When I tried to resolve a Log4j issue, the customer service response was disappointing.
