Hugely improved our operating efficiencies when working remotely
What do you like best about the product?
The main advantage of Smartsheet over traditional spreadsheets is the automation and the ability to send alerts when certain criteria are met. Web forms with rules ensure that our sales team only submit complete requests for support.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest issue we experienced was encouraging traditionalists to drop Excel and move to cloud-based smartsheets. Once people became familiar with it, they never looked back.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet solves the problem of locally-stored copies of documents and subsequent multiple copies of the same document. Alerts when due dates are approaching also help to motivate users to complete their actions in a timely fashion.

What do you like best about the product?
The automation that smartsheet adds is invaluable and a massive time saver, being able to fill cells or notify individual contacts certain conditions are met removes a great deal of manual work that would otherwise have to be done.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some features (although not many) which I would like to see added to Smartsheet, like the ability as simply as to put borders on. Its quite a basic feature but from an aesthetics/ readibility perspective would be really helpful. On the automations I'd like the ability to be able to run any on an hourly basis, rahter than it needing to be specific criteria to be eligble.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The manual work needed to get data to an individual or group of individuals, automation and alerts, the ease of conditional formatting, removes all of the bitty spreadsheet management work. I love the ability to change a column type to a particular data set type and know that I'm not going to have to double check the data.

What do you like best about the product?
A very user-friendly tool that integrates well with Google Drive, allowing us to store supporting documents alongside planning tasks. We can assign tasks with reference documents to enhance understanding and collaboration among team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
In group planning, the refresh time is necessary for team members to view changes. It can be time-consuming at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In our organization, all users are from Google Cloud, so better connectivity is possible without physical meetings with the teams. Assign tasks easily with the Smart Sheet. Reminders and notifications reduce the need for follow-up with the teams.
Easy to use, but functionality is too limited
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use - if you can use a spreadsheet, then you can use Smartsheet. And with it being cloud-based, you don't have to worry about data loss.
Also, the idea of a Single Source of Truth is really powerful - having Smartsheet show various graphical representations of the data to managers has been very useful and powerful to assist with decision making.
Finally, the automations are excellent - these are perhaps the super-power of Smartsheet, as it allows you to create workflows so Smartsheet can remember who to email and when, so you don't have to!

What do you dislike about the product?
It's not relational enough in terms of data architecture - you can't easily create a table of lookup options, for example. This means you have to implement inelegant workarounds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing an over-arching view of task/project completion, and therefore enabling us to better assign people to tasks. It has helped us visualise the time taken for tasks, such that we are better able to predict how long future tasks will take to complete.
The automations have enabled us to create workflows that have almost completely removed our dependence on email for task management. Now we have an online form that people complete to request work, which goes into our triage/assign/complete workflow automatically. It has removed a big admin burden from everyone in our team.

Smartsheet is for project monitoring!
What do you like best about the product?
Its dashboard , commands, formula, filtering of data, sharing files , easy updating that makes the team more signifacant and easily check the project status. Real time status is good to see thru web.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can only access thru online. Limited rows and columns. With limitations also on the linking of data to other sheets. Dashboard to upgrade for more features especially on the tabulations.

Project management in real time thru other teams viewing and updating. Dashboard also helps to easily visualized to check the status of the work or project in real time with collaboration of other groups or teams

What do you like best about the product?
The level of customisation you can achieve is extensive. The automation also allows for a lot of functions. There is also a lot of online help to draw on, which helps me as I'm not very experienced.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the processes are not simple, but that is to be expected to create a sheet with automation. If there were more templates or options for preset automation that you could apply as a packet, that would helpful.

We needed a way to have mulitple users access, edit and respond to requests. Having a central storage point with access for everyone who needs it makes the coordination of activities easier.
More than just an online spreadsheet
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is more than just about sharing and collaborating on spreadsheets online. It's a very versatile tool useful for project management, reporting, scheduling automated reminders, just to name a few.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you are coming off Microsoft Excel then it does take a little bit of time to get used to Smartsheet as some features are slightly different such as no merging of cells.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted a method to keep track of our Vendor's insurances and a way to set reminders on when it has expired and requires a renewal. With Smartsheet, we were able to store all this information in one place and setup an automated email when any certificate had expired so that it could be followed up.

What do you like best about the product?
The best attribute of Smartsheet is it's ablity to maintain a large repository of information, accessible by project managers whenever they need it. In addition, the customised automation means that I can keep tweaking the sheet so that improvements keep flowing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Date format of attacments does not mimic the regional settings. i.e. If I set my date format to DD-MM-YY, the attachments are still listed as MM-DD-YY. I'd prefer consistent format for all dates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The first of several Smartsheets that I have created centralises and automates our National QA reporting process, reducing inefficient "to and fro" emails and instead collects all necessary project and product information via a smartsheet form. Once our QA team has all the critical information, we can then ensure Project Managers are automatically notified with the right QA reports for their customers, on time, the first time, everytime.
Another Smartsheet has also been made to capture all Laboratory purchase orders and sample disptaches, ensuring we keep good tracking information, such as orders, consignet details, invoices, email communications etc of all the different tasks we have on the go.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to use forms and capture/share the collated data. Also the online spreadsheet to allow our global team of travellers to ensure they work to the schedules provided.

The lack of ability to use multi choice or scales on forms, often we would like users to rate an activity 1-5, or choose and multi-choice question.
It would also be helpful if we had more ability to custom forms, the logo provision on a form is so small, it would be great to add an image or have more ability to design forms.

Smartsheet provides a live up-to-date workplan for our team that travel. It is accessible everywhere and provides the ability for updates as they happen
A great collaboration tool!
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how Smartsheets enhances collaboration within my project delivery teams. We primarily use it as a one stop shop for capturing details of actions, risks, issues etc and for monitoring progress and sharing updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like Smartsheets to make the process of obtaining and accessing workspaces easier. Additionally, I wish there was an option to archive workspaces for old projects without having to delete them, which currently removes my access each time
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I utilise Smartsheets to help facilitate my project meetings with delivery teams and key stakeholders. By using filters and sorting, I can view project tasks, actions, risks, issues, and decisions all in one place. This is beneficial for my teams as all the necessary information is centralised, eliminating the need to navigate through multiple files or spreadsheets.
Additionally, my teams receive alerts whenever a task is updated or commented on.
I also use Smartsheets for mapping out project stakeholders, developing communications plans, and creating project plans (including Gantt charts)
