Smartsheet increased my productivity, team collaborations, and schedule attainment.
What do you like best about the product?
After working with SS for four years, I find the best thing now to be the customer help resources, from easy-to-start templates to helpful videos. But the best thing for me is always going to be the user interface and how easy it is to start working with this software.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the least helpful to be the resource loading and the upsale for handy tools such as Datamesh. I feel that all those excellent tools should be included in the price for the license as standards because they make a difference when handling large data sets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SS helped organize a huge work datasheet and break it into schedulable components. We link many sheets togeher and share that with all the teams that need to be involved. We create reports, schedules and updates on progress in real time.
Perfect Scheduling Software for TIs
What do you like best about the product?
For the scope of work that I perform with my company, Smartsheet is the perfect fit for what I need. I'm able to create schedules with ease. There's not a huge learning curve and it's easy to follow through a schedule. Creating subsections in my schedules with Smartsheet has been phenomenal. The editing is very straight forward as well. It's very responsive and doesn't require an ample amount of time to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that the iPad had the same editing capabilities as the web based app on my computer. Unfortunately when using the web based app on the iPad, that's where problems start arising. The only good way to effectively use the software is from a computer. As a superintendent, I'm constantly working from my iPad, and at times I don't get a chance to be on my computer until the very end of the day. If the iOS app had the same capabilities, I wouldn't have any concerns or complaints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to control the pace of a project through schedule logic. With the size of a project, Smartsheet has become a cost effective tool to create a schedule.
SMARTSHEET AS A WORK COMPANION
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful thing about Smartsheet is its feature that gives centralized access to everyone using the platform. It also provides ease in monitoring projects and process automation.
What do you dislike about the product?
The least helpful thing about Smartsheet is its data capacity. I have experienced some inconvenience wherein some inputs were not accepted because the data was already maximized. So I have to delete some inputs to proceed with the update.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has been helping our team to manage and monitor our workflow carefully. It also improves the time taken to update our records. It also allows us to share documents with other people involved in our team.
Doing things our way
What do you like best about the product?
We use SS in a way that it wasn't really intended. But the support staff are alway so helpful even though we don't follow the best practices. It makes tracking jobs with our clients super easy and with the full history of each site.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost has risen since I first opened an account is a bit crippling. It is also not clear enough that a single paid user can share any number of sheets without incurring addition costs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Just keeping everyone on the same page. With easy access at any time using a browser or mobile. Also the tracking of each site history is so important as well as the accountability.
Powerful Process Automation Toolkit
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Smartsheet for over seven years and have brought it with me (instituted as a standard tool) in my last job change 4 years ago. I love the ability to create custom automation solutions that fit my exact business needs. I am able to take the repetitive (and often forgotten) managerial tasks that I have within my organization and use automated emails, alerts, and updates to keep projects moving forward. This allows me, as a manager, to concentrate on solving problems rather than asking for updates and approvals. The capability of the tool has quickly spread throughout my engineering organization and is now used across many different businesses and in diverse ways.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see the variety of widgets and customization within Dashboards expanded. I find that I am able to make very good reports and automation to communicate my messages, but the dashboards do not reach the refined level of communication and capability that I would like. Additionally, I would like to see faster feature additions and increased formula and formatting options to further manipulate my data and the way that it is represented. There are many times that I have a specific implementation need, consult the forums, and find that there are a large number of people asking (for many years) for the same feature, but it has still not been added.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has become our go-to Gantt chart and project tracking tool. We use it to not only automate our New Product Introduction process, but also be the repository for testing data as the solutions are validated and marked complete. Additionally, we use Smartsheet as an Action Tracker for customer issues. We use the Comments feature to stay up to date with progress and have greatly appreciated the new "Latest Comment" cell feature.
Great tool for organizing teams
What do you like best about the product?
As a new manager, it is hard to keep up with multiple deadlines and also assess the tasks being completed by my team. Smartsheet allows me to track my own tasks but create sheets for my team members. We use Smartsheet for a monthly closing process and recently created a new sheet to track all of the tasks related to moving to a new location. Smartsheet has allowed us to be more organized and feel more in control of the department workload.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are so many possibilities with Smartsheet; Smartsheet is much more than a glorified spreadsheet. When we first purchased Smartsheet subscriptions, the Smartsheet trainer assigned to our account did not fully understand our needs and did not provide adequate training, and did not set up a sheet that worked with what we had in mind. We were able to find a Smartsheet consultant, and the consultant was able to provide us with the solution we needed and really opened our eyes to the possibilities of Smartsheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We utilize Smartsheet to track a monthly closing process within our fiscal department. We also have individual sheets for each team member to track tasks outside of the closing process, and as a manager, I have the ability to assign additional tasks through the individual's task sheet. One of my favorite features is the ability to 'drag' emails as an attachment to a task rather than having to sort through hundreds of emails to find where the original task came from. We also utilized a sheet to organize a department move and assign different tasks related to the move to various team members.
Smartsheet for Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet offers great learning materials online and community support is unmatched so it's quite easy to become an experienced user quickly. When I first started using Smartsheet it reminded me of Excel - but it's so much more! Smartsheet provides a great solution for information sharing, organization, and analysis.
What do you dislike about the product?
Formulas can be complex, which can make reporting and analysis time-consuming to set up. However, Smartsheet continues to innovate and release new features based on user feedback and help/community support is available for troubleshooting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The company I work with was able to integrate the CRM with Smartsheet, which has helped immensely in tracking project financials and progress. The ability to create dashboards with live data allows us to have internal and external views, as well as reports, leading to increased visibility and collaboration.
Smartsheet has been instrumental in efficiently tracking and managing the resources.
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is incredibly helpful, particularly its workflow feature that effectively reminds my employees to complete tasks, ensuring that we all stay on top of our to-do lists.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Smartsheet webinar provides numerous benefits, but as a Deaf individual, it would greatly enhance my learning experience if they offered captions or an ASL interpreter during the webinar, ensuring equal access and eliminating any communication barriers.

Smartsheet is invaluable in efficiently managing and tracking our employees' data. Its workflow feature that effectively reminds my employees to complete tasks, ensuring that we all stay on top of our to-do lists.
Get your organization back on track!
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is an excellent tool for communicating with my team. We use Smartsheet to collect various types of requests across all departments. It allows all key stakeholders to review and approve requests and allows us to streamline our requests and approvals processes by having everything live in ONE place. Through Smartsheet, we don't skip a beat. And because we're able to add attachments, we're able to use Smartsheet as a database to store important documents related to requests which eliminates the need to send things via email.
What do you dislike about the product?
We really miss the previous Smartsheet homepage! We were able to see our outstanding "tickets" or notifications from the homepage. Having that info live there was super helpful in being able to immediately knock tasks out of the way. An option to have a FULLY customizable homepage would be a better option. While the new look is minimal, it didn't add to the overall functionality for my team. Now it requires a few more steps, but overall we are still pleased with the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Through Smartsheet, our entire approvals process for purchase requests, hiring requests, legal requests, and receipt and contract management live in one organized place. It allows all key stakeholders to seamlessly review and approve various requests without the need of back and forth emails and direct messages. All documents, comments, and approvals live in once place and can be referenced at any time. It's been a huge help in keeping our organization organized and running efficiently. It's saved us TONS of time and energy since using and integrating into our daily workflow.
Better than Excel for most with 1 major drawback
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheets forms keep entries beautifully organized. My team enjoys the simple to use features that the free version allows them, and I use the paid version to create sheets. Dashboards are also a neat feature, I use them to showcase monthly team performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main con with Smartsheets, is as it is an online-only platform - you are bound to experience down time. In my 1+ year of using Smartsheets more than Excel, I've had issues at least 2-3 times where the services were down.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheets allows me to pick and chose what I share to users via the Dashboard settings, and the Form option allows me to create user friendly applications. I for sure save time using this app.
