Excellent & Productive Resource
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheets has helped to facilitate quick and easy collaboration across teams and/or with key stakeholders in a fashion no other platform does. The additional piece of mind via the "proofs" system is also great when it comes to reverting unwanted or accidental changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great to see Smartsheets leverage additional formula/calculation tools similar to those associated with Microsoft products. While the ability to do more in one workbook has grown, there are still some opportunities that could be addressed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The key advantage Smartsheet has for my application is the ability to revert or undo accidental changes made by another user. This feature is incredibly important when working on large cross-functional projects with several stakeholders all having access to one sheet.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a great tool that allows me to stay on track. My team uses it to see what we have coming down the pipeline for our different clients and also to set project timelines to keep everyone on track
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be not very clear to navigate at times. The smartsheet dashboards that link out to other smartsheets can become confusing and allow a lot of the useful information needed to get lost in the shuffle.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My work in marketing involves a lot of moving pieces, so Smartsheet helps keep everything organizes and all of the different teams working on a project aligned and on track

What do you like best about the product?
There is only one file, no copies and everyone can access and/or edit at anytime from anywhere. Having the files in the cloud is beneficial when working remotely.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some staff initially feel like they are getting micromanaged by using this tool. "Formulas" are somewhat tricky compared to other applications. More simple examples of how to do something in a general context would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows my team to quickly assign/transfer tasks to one another with a confirmed email/notice to all parties involved. Update requests are super helpful in gently reminding staff of priorities and coming deadlines.
Smartsheet Experience from a Newer User
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is extremely helpful for project managing and tracking. I utilize this program daily to track and plan my communication. Then it is also used to keep a record of those communications and track results. I am only scratching the surface of the many features and capabilities of what processes can be tracked and reported through this program.
What do you dislike about the product?
While it has so many features and functionalities, sometimes that can make things challenging to figure out on your own. It's also not as intuitive as Microsoft Excel for creating dashboard graphs from information within sheets. It can cause you to generate more reports to showcase the information properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is the tool we utilize to track and report communication history and results, organize budget requests, manage communication requests, and external facing calendars. It allows us to self manage our departments needs in an efficient way.

Being able to share with users outside of the organization was super useful.

What do you dislike about the product?
I may just not have the latest version, but being able to see the original due date versus the new and how things have changed is difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration with our clients was huge. It helped streamline workflow and deliverables when files were needed from our client. We could also keep out conversations and follow up in one space. This was also helpful if there was any turnover.
Very powerful platform for project & team management
What do you like best about the product?
I love the different views available for individual sheets including the gantt view and the card view. We use the card view for tracking team responsibilities on a weekly basis. How documents can be uploaded as either attachments or as mpp files has made sharing active documents so easy between team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
Knowing that most companies, including my own, utilize Procore for project management, I would like to see more ways that smartsheet and Procore can be linked together to summarize data, easily close open items, simpler tracking, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has daylighted many "problems" I hadn't even realized I had while working. The ease of use & display compared to other products has been helpful. A similar file management tree to Microsoft has made learning the smartsheet system easy. I love the views that simplify my tasks and the filters available to quickly drown out the noise of everything going on to be able to focus on just my items when necessary while still having the ability to see what the rest of the team is working on live that other products don't provide.
Expecting more
What do you like best about the product?
I like many template options, as there is always something I can use to build from. I also like the easy integration of Forms within a sheet to collect the data
What do you dislike about the product?
A major downside is that there are no features to walk you through templates, formulas, or forms in a detailed way. Right when you log on, there should be tutorial videos available.
Additionally, having to pay extra for Resource Management tools is a downside, and should be included in the membership, especially when the RM tool is not as robust as MS project.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps in inter-departmental communication with scheduling and project management. Being able to collect data in a Smartsheet and tag other users is beneficial to bring attention to critical tasks
A great team collaboration tool
What do you like best about the product?
Our company works predominately remotely and Smarthseet has proven to be a great tool for tracking our project progress and keeping track of actions for our diverse team. We've also been able to use it to great effect with some of our 3rd party consultants
What do you dislike about the product?
Realtime editing can get sticky at times if multiple users are making changes to a sheet at the same time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps us track what each team member is doing to progress our projects. The Gantt chart visualization feature is particularly useful for monitoring long lead items and seeing what is on the critical path and it's file management feature is excellent for 3rd parties.
Great platform for sharing data and managing complex schedules
What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoy the ability to create dashboards from scratch with very user friendly forms. The forms are also very useful for creating employee application or other employee related tracking services.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isnt much that I dislike about the product. It does a great job at what it's meant to do. There is always room for more integrations with specific systems or developing more features like the barcode scanning for inventory management.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet assists with managing our busy job schedules, and making it very easy for crew leaders to find all they need before working with customers. It also allows easy data collection for employee incidents, feedback, kudos, surveys ..etc

Smartsheet is a great collaborative tool for managing data with cross-functional teams. It's great to keep track of data with the functions available and essential acts as its own data ecosystem.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a lack of flexibility within Smartsheet that Excel users will find a hindrance, such as the ease of filtering. Another disadvantage relating to 'viewing' would be hiding and unhiding columns as the current option is only to unhide all rather than a specific section.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For the purpose of my job, maintaining an assortment plan (tracker) is key to collaborate and share data with cross functional teams (Supply chain, Marketing, Logistics, etc). Smartsheet has allowed us to build a tracker with all relevant information with workflows to trigger notifications to appropriate parties where there is a change in data. In addition, the report views have been useful to share data with cross functional teams that would not require all details in the original tracker (data file).
