Effective and straightforward to use.
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the effectiveness of smartsheet. It helps keep our projects on track. I love how simple it is.
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating the CRM is hard to do on your own. You'd need someone who has worked with smartsheet previously, even then mistakes happen crossing the pages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's solving the flow from pushing projects to the next stage. It benefits me as a project manager because I never lose track of a project.
Perfect tool for our group
What do you like best about the product?
Our team has enjoyed using Smartsheet as an alternative to Excel because of its ease-of-use, collaborative nature, and templates. It's been very helpful in our team tracking projects across team members and also project planning.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wouldn't consider it a downside but sometimes it is hard to understand how you can extend the out-of-the-box features of Smartsheet. But, that is probably more attributable to lack of time to seek out those answers than the availability of add-ons that are desireable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet provides a highly-collaborative alternative to Excel that is easier to interact with and understand how to use.

What do you like best about the product?
I can use this to create a workflow, or link it to another sheet. I create one for each project I work on.
What do you dislike about the product?
Learning the formulas and advanced settings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gives me reminders when I have a deadline, keeps me organized, allows me to check off the tasks I have completed. I am more productive using Smartsheet on a daily basis.
A much better experience than Microsoft Excel
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is far more user friendly than Microsoft's Excel platform or Google's Sheets. It is software that empowers our work and allows for easy collaboration between members of a team. I am beyond happy with Smartsheet after using Excel for years prior.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few features that I think will be added over time that I wish were available/active now on the Smartsheet platform. Although Smartsheet continues to update and improve on what is already great, there are some things Excel offers which at the moment Smartsheet does not. Unfortunately, until these needs are rectified in Smartsheet itself, there will need to be a combination of both Smartsheet and Excel use in my day-to-day work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One major problem we had with Excel is how clunky and non-user friendly it was. There is a reason why employers for the past decade have asked for high-level excel skills in potential candidates. Smartsheet on the other hand, can generally speaking be picked up and used by anybody. It has great formula help pages and also makes users feel empowered to create/manage what they need to, whereas with other programs, the user themself has to know how to work it from the start.
Robust and Flexible Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has helped me to organize and maintain an extensive product portfolio management solution for my organization and has also been critical in communicating and managing cross-functional teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few limitations within Smartsheet that I think could be improved upon by introducing some enhancements in the reports and global updates in Control Center.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prior to Smartsheet, we were using spreadsheet and SharePoint-based tools that were somewhat disconnected and disjointed and were not very scaleable. Smartsheet provided a solution that met all of our needs and is easy to use and get others trained on the solution.
Very easy to use but can use some fine tuning.
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is an easy-to-use platform that allows you to use it for a variety of business needs. It will enable the user to create documents without much platform experience easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like that Smartsheet does not recognize already typed data, similar to that of Excel. It would make life a lot easier if Smartsheet had this ability, especially when creating more extensive spreadsheets for tracking purposes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet gives me a quick and easy way to create, track and manage projects in progress, due dates and upcoming projects. It also allows me to track employee certifications.
Smartsheet is a game changer!
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is so useful! I will say, as an avid excel user, I did have some hesitation when starting to use smartsheet. Some of my favorite features include the cell history, ability to see an audit trail as well as filter it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one item that that dislike is the inability to change the color of just one cell.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has the ability to easily create metrics and a dashboard! It is useful for project management.
Excellent for Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
Great project management and collaboration tool. It has a user-friendly interface and lots of versatility. I've used it for project management, task tracking and collaboration. The pre-built templates are a huge time saver.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see more advanced reporting features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management and collaboration. We primarily utilize Smartsheet for project and task management. Smartsheet allows us to invite additional team members and external clients to review real-time updates and reports.
Easy to create forms and gather information for multiple projects
What do you like best about the product?
Creating a form is quick and easy! My favorite feature is the ability to develop logic within the form to tailor the questions to a specific group. Exporting data from the sheet is also very easy and user-friendly. I'm a nurse and work at our corporate office overseeing 19 facilities. I've created multiple forms for myself and my colleagues to gather information and organize data. For example, I made a form that allows nurses from all 19 hospitals to apply for their specialty certification. Some helpful information we can track: when the applicant applied, which certification they are applying for, when they sit for the exam, CNO approval and if they passed or failed. This data is useful to our senior leadership team to track how many nurses have obtained specialty certification and how many vouchers have been used. We also use Smartsheet for people to submit meeting agenda topics for multiple meetings. This helps organize topics submitted and who submitted them, as well as supporting documentation for their topic. Having automation set up to notify me when someone has submitted a topic helps keep me organized and on track with deadlines. I couldn't do my job as effectively or efficiently without Smartsheet!
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I struggle with the primary column. When I create forms, I'm not sure which data should be used for this function and for a lot of my projects, that primary column isn't crucial.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking requests to sit for specialty nursing certification. Tracking agenda item requests for multiple meetings. Tracking data for our nursing education team. We have professional nursing shared governance in our organization and I created a Smartsheet to track decisions made at these meetings, who is accountable for implementation and when the go-live will be. Smartsheet has allowed me to organize multiple functions for multiple teams. Without this platform, my performance would suffer. I use Smartsheet every day!
Very helpful tool in collaboration and project management
What do you like best about the product?
I love how user-friendly and intuitive Smartsheet is. It is a product where you can jump right in and within 15-20 minutes you have a good grasp of how to leverage the product to make your team more efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Smartsheet handled multiple links within the same "cell" better. For example, adding multiple JIRA, Confluence, or Sharepoint links to the same "cell" would be a really helpful feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team is mostly remote and has very different roles and responsibilities, so Smartsheet makes it easy to track all of the different workstreams in flight and see where they're at in the process with supporting documentation.
