A tool for planning
What do you like best about the product?
I can use Smartsheet to create tasks, assignments, timeline, charts, and reports for my projects. This also allows other users to edit and add inputs to my worksheet.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet seems to be complex for new users. I don't see any in-app tutorial / guides on how to use this tool. It's interface are not as friendly as Microsoft's or Google's.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet was able to translate my raw data into a dashboard. And since people can also add/edit, the integrity of the report is maintained. It helped me show reports in a representative manner.
Database Management
What do you like best about the product?
The controlled access to the sheets, reports and workspaces. I have several data sets that have different security requirements and I can easily manage the access and teams that have access to those data sets.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cannot choose a date range for dashboard data. This is my only complaint. The choice of data, widgets, charts, graphs, etc that can be displayed is good, and I have a lot of freedom to arrange and design, but the lack of being able to select a data range is an issue that I'd like to see resolved soon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asset/employee management. We make a lot of moves with assets and agents and being able to create a sheet and a corresponding form for easy entry helps a lot. Everyone has access to the form, and VIP's have access to the sheet/data.
Great Tool for Managing Projects and Sharing Information
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is easy to use, intuitive to navigate, and effortless to share. Smartsheet can be lightweight or heavy-duty with automation, integrations, and dashboards. I appreciate the ability to import/export with minimal effort.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smarthseet has very few weaknesses for what it is. I think the biggest challenge is found with some of the features being hidden deeply in context menus and settings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet provides a central location for project status and resource management.
Smartsheets in the corporate environment
What do you like best about the product?
There are so many quality features and templates in Smartsheet. I really like the automation features. Using Smartsheet, we were able to update a process that took approximately 10 days to complete. The revised process utilized the sheet automation actions to complete the task in 3 days. This was critical to our environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, I have some trouble with some of the cell equations. It is my learning curve in some cases, but in others, the specific cell formula is not available. I think Smartsheet can focus on developing their cell formulas to match Excel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automation, collaboration, project management, and reporting are some. One of the most significant benefits it supplies is communication. The projects we track are quickly reported on.
Smartsheet does an alright job but is lacking when it comes to higher-
What do you like best about the product?
Sharing information between individuals is a lot easier with Smartsheet than with a lot of alternatives. Nobody wants to use SharePoint, due to the difficulties in just doing the simplest things and storing information centrally, and hosting files on OneDrive is less than ideal due to permissions issues.
We use SmartSheet as a repository of data that isn't otherwise stored by our ERP solution, as it would take additional code and maintenance to add that in. Instead, with some careful maintenance and redundancy checks, we can use Smartsheet to host additional fields that we maintain specifically for our account. Additionally, Smartsheet's Live Data Connector driver allows us to stitch data together with other programs such as Tableau. I also highly want to recommend the fact that SQL queries can be run against Smartsheet pages, though I'll be honest that I feel the documentation on that particular feature is lacking.

What do you dislike about the product?
There are no workbooks in Smartsheet, only worksheets. This limits the ability to package separate sets of data.
Organization is definitely not a strong point, as navigation can be a painful process for our users. I struggle using the interface to find anything I need, though the Search feature does mitigate things to a good degree.
The seemingly arbitrary limit on the number of cells that can be copied and pasted, even with a Smartsheet licence, is completely unjustified from my perspective.
The Smartsheet integration with Tableau is somewhat lacking, as it uses drivers that heavily restrict what we can join on. There's a fun little issue when joining data into Tableau where, when importing any data from Smartsheet at all using the Smartsheet Live Data Connector, we cannot use certain Tableau functions. For example, let's say we have a site listed in Smartsheet as "1234", but in our system it's "ABC-1234". I can't remember at this moment whether we have to reduce the "ABC-" out of the latter record or prepend it to the former record, but one of these gives us the error message "Cannot add string and string values." This does not occur anywhere else within Tableau and from my reading, this is a limitation created by the generic driver features that Smartsheet uses in its Live Data Connector.
Smartsheet has the ability to be used as an online database, but I'm vexed that there is such a low cell limit to it. If it's meant to be used as a lightweight, online Excel substitute, that's one thing - but we're trying to use it as an actual OLDB, and we've had to go with other solutions due to the cell limit in a given workbook.
This is a little niggle, but why isn't there a built-in feature to track when a row, or cell, or anything else was last changed, or when it was added to the worksheet via a form? Seems like an easy thing to add in.

Use SmartSheet to streamline project management and track deadlines
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Smartsheet for its low cost, easy-to-use interface, and useful collaboration tools. With this platform at my disposal, I am able to quickly pull data from numerous sources without the need for additional software. In addition, its functional similarities to Excel make even complex tasks easier and more accessible to those without technical expertise. For all of these reasons, I enjoy using Smartsheets to efficiently and effectively handle client work or the day-to-day paperwork that is a part of most businesses.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like that Smartsheet does not have an easy way to export record data as a readable file or provide economical integration options for specific needs. While inventive use of lookup tables and data transformations can open up possibilities when designing a dashboard, the cost associated with certain integrations can be questionable unless absolutely necessary.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been able to stay on top of my deliverables more easily and efficiently since our company started using Smartsheet. Working with teams, tracking progress, assigning tasks, and monitoring deadlines is much easier now that we have this tool for collaboration.
Smartsheet for project management
What do you like best about the product?
When we create dashboards for our reports and presentations, we use data from Smartsheet trackers and external sources. It's a good thing Smarsheet has this feature, making our work easier in consolidating information from different sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
Whenever we enter new entries or edit our trackers, we save the file frequently. There were instances when they were not saved after putting in data in the sheet. Looking forward to a faster auto-save feature like in other workspaces.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a one-stop-shop that lets us easily consolidate all our data. We don't have any compatibility issues when we have to export it to other extension files. The matrix also has better visuals.

What do you dislike about the product?
Well I one thing that I dislike about Smartsheet is their UI. I think it is really not up-to-date with the trend of most websites I visited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have long problem with trackers as I was usign manual methods and Smarsheet helped me out. Another thing are the dashboard, making Dashboard in Smartsheet is easy.
Smartsheet - a very useful tool for Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
In Project Management, there are various trackers, timelines, and dashboards that need to be monitored regularly. Fortunately, Smartsheet provides an efficient and user-friendly platform to manage all these in one place.
With Smartsheet, you can easily create project timelines that can be used to generate comprehensive project dashboards. These dashboards can be shared seamlessly across teams and even exported to Excel for reporting or further analysis.

What do you dislike about the product?
For Smartsheet, I think it is still not capable to link data from other sources that are not Smartsheet workspace. It will be a lot better if we can upload or link data from other workspaces in Smartsheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I think what’s great about Smartsheet is that there are so many things you can do within one workspace. You can create trackers, timelines, dashboards, and reports—all in a single platform. Plus, the notification feature that alerts team members of updates or changes is really helpful and keeps everyone aligned.
