Smart Sheet Review
What do you like best about the product?
I love how organized and detailed you can make your sheets depending on what it's being used for.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish sheets were saved automatically and updated as they are being used. For example if im working on a sheet my co worker cant see the updates as I do it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is solving my tracking with clients and jobs. It is very helpful when I need to reference back to an old job.
Excel on Protein
What do you like best about the product?
The ease and complete transparency of how to use each of the functions of this product. I have never been introduced to a product that was beginner friendly and helped with my work.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about it is that if someone owns a sheet, it cannot be edited or changed by someone who isn't. We share a lot of worksheets and are constantly asking if someone can go in and edit them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I like that I can set up a form, and all the information a client enters goes directly to my sheet. It helps me keep track of data and who has had what. Once again, it makes it extremely easy.
Features Excel could never dream of.
What do you like best about the product?
I like how customizable and the automation the platform provides. For fields to dynamically update in such a simple manner is truly amazing coming from leveraging Microsoft Excel for most of the same functions.
What do you dislike about the product?
On the other side of the coin, features can be dense and hidden sometimes - which is what you get with such a feature-rich platform. I would like to see greater engagement from the post-sales team on helping users derive maximum value from Smartsheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet solves visibility problems across the org, allowing quick access to key information in a dashboard format that would be impossible to develop using other platforms.
Smartsheet is an intuitive and user friendly application for project management
What do you like best about the product?
It's similar to excel, which makes it easy to pick up! It makes it easy for me to edit timelines and compare timing options. The online capabilities make it more accessible than competitors.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it was easier to export timelines. My agency uses status sheet/hotsheets in excel, and I have to manually input timelines into individual cells. I wish I could export the timeline into a simple format that could be input into excel or sent over email.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having to rework entire timelines in word or excel. The ability to automate and update entire timelines by changing just one date is a huge time saver. Also having the ability to templatize timing and share that with the team.
Smartsheet has made my day to day activities of following up and documenting a piece of cake.
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing about smartsheet is how much you can customize the sheets. Right now i'm currently working on a project which includes alot of following up. Smartsheet makes it easy for me to mark tasks as complete, pending, etc. and allows me to leave comments to track the progress.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet doesn't really have any downsides, once thing i wish they would add which would be helpful is to allow multiple sheets to be open at once without having to open up new browser windows for each one. Other than that it is a very helpful program.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We don't work on an integrated system at my company at the moment but smartsheet is helping us close the gap by giving us a place where we can track data, progress, and make up to date comments that can be seen by all the collaborators
Smartsheet doesn't fit with how I understand spreadsheets
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to create dashboards on Smartsheet, creating the sections and the layouts is nice. Maybe if I understood Smartsheet more, I could have more to say about positive aspects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet doesn't have as much functionality as other shared spreadsheet models. I often have issues sharing it, it's down more often than it should be, and the layout doesn't make sense to me - I am an anomaly with this on my team, though!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have some older team members and they tend to have more facility with smartsheet which is helpful! The dashboard is the aspect we use the most and is the most helpful.
Great For Project Managers and Project Organization
What do you like best about the product?
I like how versatile it can be away from the traditional Excel document that was the norm. This tool is great to keep stakeholders, outside investors, and engagement throughout the entire project life cycle.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it was a little more automated for project managers. When a new project is created, with the right framework, i wish it would auto-generate tasks that were used previously.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
the use to keep all my tasks aligned to the project that i am working on. It also allowed me to be flexible in changing what i need on the go.
Move over excel
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Smartsheet gives me automation ability and is so user friendly. The forms option is also extremey helpful when receiving projects from my teammates.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like to be able to set up reoccurring tasks. There are some automation abilities around scheduling tasks but I would like to be able to say this item happens every 3 weeks and have the gantt reflect that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is helping me with organization and ensuring people know what information to send me upfront. This saves me lots of time and hassle of going back and forth with the team.
SmartSheet is a shareable and collaborative Microsoft Excel
What do you like best about the product?
I like SmartSheet's ability to be saved and shared real-time. SmartSheet, unlike other online platforms, does not lag which makes user experience very positive. SmartSheet's ribbon pane is also simple and very easy to navigate.
What do you dislike about the product?
At the moment, there is nothing I dislike about SmartSheet. If it weren't for its ability to be shared easily online via email and shareable link, then I would have no use for it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I manage 4 very big projects, all of which are tied to the same initiative. Each project has its own audience and team to support, and having a SmartSheet that is easily identifiable, separate, and built differently for each project allows each audience to use their own creativity in how they want to develop and manage their respective SmartSheet. I find this ability to be fluid with different audiences a key advantage of SmartSheet.
Excellent Project Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Smartsheet is the simplicity of customizing the grid view and columns for project management. You can get as detailed as you like, include multiple team members, and track progress for projects with many moving parts. One of the hats I wear at my company is continued process improvements in our ERP system, which touches multiple departments. The email notification system is also convenient when an item is assigned to a specific individual and when a task changes its status from not started, in progress, to complete. In addition, a great tool to show executive leadership the progress that is being made in the event you come under review for project status.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about smartsheet is adding users to sheets, and then the user has to accept the invitation to start viewing the sheet. What happens is sometimes I need to chase individuals down and have to walk them through accepting their invitation. Otherwise, no significant complaints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ultimately, the smartsheet platform is a convenient and effective way to manage projects. Team collaboration and productivity overall is much more effective, especially when there are many individuals involved with providing deliverables that effect the next process improvement from moving forward.
