Smartsheet - Easy, Efficient, and Smooth
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to make sheets and reports. The automation emails have been a complete life changer for our department. We mostly use it for HR purposes but can't imagine our list without it.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have a workspace sponsored Smartsheet, so sometimes we can't add new features to our plan without permission and/or with an upcharge. I wish there were more trainings, but our institute seems aware and creating a space for this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a shadow system to our institute's HR system which only supports the recruiting portion of HR. We needed a way to collect information but also inform various stakeholders throughout the entire hiring cycle.
Working smarter and creatively, while staying connected
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet truly is a very easy tool to use. They make the functionality user-friendly for anyone to start learning and using the tool. You do not need to know how to code or develop software in order to build processes and automation. Smartsheet provides very good bite-sized training and a community where you can get all your questions answered. I have transitioned our Marketing Campaign Creation processes into Smartsheet with ease and flexibility. It is scalable to grow with us, and keeps the teams consistent and organized in their work. Other departments in our organization have seen the work we have done in Smartsheet and are coming along for the ride because they are seeing how nice the tool is, and most importantly, how easy it is to start using it.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are opportunities to improve the experience in Smartsheet, such as ability to adjust the row height in the sheets and perhaps a few more levels of access rights. I find that the access capabilities between an Admin and an Editor are too different. I need an in-between.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Marketing team worked in silos and in various tools. We found very little collaboration between the teams which caused a lot of confusion. It was also very difficult to find what you needed because we were using too many tools (Excel, shared drives, Sharepoint, Workfront, Jira, etc). With the transition of the Marketing processes into Smartsheet over the past 6 months, we have noticed the difference in how the teams work. There is great collaboration within the tool, and transparency. Everyone can find what they need because everyone now know how the processes work, where they are stored, and who is responsible for them. We have also been able to provide leadership visibility to progress of campaigns and reporting.
I have tested many softwares to administrate my tasks but smartsheets its the most complete.
What do you like best about the product?
I like all the tools and functionalities that Smartsheet has, it's the most complete service.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think it needs to be better with the help it offers to the users, Creating manuals to explain all the functionalities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The administration of tasks, generally, I am assigned to many projects, and smartsheet helps me to have a view of all my taskts and priorities.
Awesome tool for resource and project management
What do you like best about the product?
Easy visualization of dashboards and reports. Being present on the cloud is easy to access and share with team members. By sharing filters with a specific set of employees in the organization you will be easily able to perform Acces reviews.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few bugs when selecting column types; options are distorted. No chance to refresh Smartsheet pivot for reports immediately. There should be an option to create and refresh reports immediately.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
An increase in the length of the grid with rows to the extent of 20000 helps to load more data. Workflows and Automation helps creating email triggers more efficiently
Project Management - Nothing Gets Done Without SmartSheet
What do you like best about the product?
I've been using SmartSheet for approximately five years, and in my PM world, nothing gets started without inputting a plan and into SmartSheet.
I use an array of project management tools that SmartSheet provides to help track my projects, from timelines, task dependencies, Gantt charts and financial health.
Dashboards are exceptional for data visualization and gaining insights into project progress and performance. The platform offers customizable dashboards, charts, and reports, allowing me to present complex data in a visually appealing and easy-to-understand manner. This helps me track key metrics and enables effective communication with stakeholders, ensuring everyone has a clear understanding of project status.

What do you dislike about the product?
I have used SmartSheet long enough to maximize its capabilities. In other words, SmartSheet is not Excel, so I don't expect it to run complicated Excel functions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SmartSheet lets me plan out all project tasks, milestones and dependencies. I can easily see what's on track, what's running late and if the task is late, how it affects the overall impact of the timeline.
I Love Smartsheets
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheets has assisted me in several areas where communication is required/needed for certain job tasks I oversee. This has created a lot of seemless workflow between teams across our organization. Managing certain tasks in Smartsheets has reduced the amount of e-mails and saved space on our drives as we are able to replace worksheets with Smartsheets. I also love the ease of access with just logging in and being able to share this with others.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are not too many downsides to smartsheets that I am fully aware of as most of the smartsheet functions I use were customized to my/our needs. Thus, so far, nothing I can think of at this moment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Freeing up the need to have multiple excel documents in various folders to track. It's all online now so that makes it much easier to get to. The ease with sharing and being able to create a workflow within is great! Saves space and time.
Best SaaS tool for project management and collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
The design and features are very user-friendly, which helps to reduce manual workload. With automation, you can share your input with multiple people in your organization at once. You can track the history logs of any sheet or grid, which helps in Audit tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
There should be more tool buttons like duplicate values highlights, freezing columns or rows etc. mandatory primary columns should be removed while importing Excel in Smartsheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Once Smartsheet pivots helped me create pivots and dashboards easily. You can add Workflow automation for rows entries in the grid, which helps to keep tasks automated till completion. You can subscribe to alerts once Smartsheet is down or Up with oncoming updates.
Smartsheet more than a project management tool
What do you like best about the product?
People with proficiency in Excel can quickly hit the ground running to get value from Smartsheet. Smartsheet is a great tool that non-IT staff in your org can quickly start using effectively.
Smartsheet is not just a project management tool. It can be used to create forms for collecting data from your customers. Your customers DO NOT need a license to use your Smartsheet instance. How good is that!

What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet does not have a form view to look at current data. Smartsheet reporting is limited to displaying columns from underlying sheets, as is. We cannot include formulas in the report.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In our organization everyone works from home. This tool helps team members collaborate easily. All information about a task/project stays in one place - within the sheet. Significantly, improves productivity. It is easy to setup.
Great service with minor bugs
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to seamlessly transfer between different sheets is invaluable. The "Move row to another sheet" function makes patient care across multiple platforms much easier than it would be otherwise.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally, when attempting to access comments, the website will glitch and not show any of the comments made on a specific row. Additionally, it does not track read comments when you transfer a row to another sheet. Suddenly all comments on the sheet will appear unread, even if you wrote them yourself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The recent addition of the column "Most recent comment" is a valuable addition that enables consistent tracking of whatever the most recent comment was. However, I have attempted to report issues with comments being unread when transferring from one sheet to another and never heard anything back.
Excellent collaboration tool
What do you like best about the product?
I love being able to use smartsheet to collaborate in real-time with my colleagues. All relevant and pertinent information when it comes to developing new processes, or ensuring completeness of projects is displayed in an easy to read and edit format.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sharing functionality can sometimes be somewhat obfuscated, especially when it comes to inviting new collaborators and editors to an existing smartsheet. Sometimes permissions are not properly disseminated, and it can lead to confusion on roles regarding certain sheets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is fantastic at giving high visibility to projects and workflows, allowing anyone involved in a process to have a clear picture of what has been accomplished, what needs to be accomplished, and, allow for users to see what might be missing. Smartsheet really helps at prevening wasted time and energy trying to get a clear picture of what state the project is in, and how people can contribute.
