Great Project Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I use smart sheet in my day-to-day and I find it extremely helpful in creating marketing tactical plans. It is a great project management tool with many features that makes it easy to share updates, communicate with my team, and create reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really wish that smart sheet had an auto-save, sometimes forgetting to save my work has been a big issue. It would also be great to be able to see previous versions and possibly have the option to revert back to a previous version as you can do with One drive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As I mentioned, SmartSheet is a really great project management tool. I use it primarily to collaborate with other teams, create social media calendars, and keep track of my marketing tactics.
SmartSheet gets the basics done
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is very intuitive. Given it is based off of an excel sheet, adoption for an organization is fairly easy. The workflows and forms are a bonus as well as they are simple to set-up and integrate. For basic usage Smartsheet is simple for most users.
What do you dislike about the product?
The more advanced features of Smartsheet are harder to learn. While you can use project cards and boards, it is not ideal for this type of set-up. Sub-tasks become clunky and the UI is not as seamless as an Asana or Monday.com. I do like Smartsheet, but always find myself wanting more from it. I think it is a good introduction tool for project management, but you really need someone on the team dedicated and trained to make this more robust.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We adopted SmartSheet to assist with our project management and to have a standard organizational tool that was accessible to everyone. In general, we have seen positive increases, but there are still some additional tools that would be nice to have.
Easy to implement and use tool for a plethora of business needs.
What do you like best about the product?
For SmartSheets there is no implementation to speak of (if you so chose). You can dive into SmartSheet at any level you'd prefer. I have seen colleagues start with the free trial and other teams start with the SmartSheet implementation team with multiple premium add ons.
What do you dislike about the product?
People on the team have stated that they do not like the fact that you have to click the save button on sheets to save. Additionally, when collaborating with internal and external partners, it can feel as though the efforts to get people to buy smartsheet premium are a bit pushy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SmartSheets help us maintain a single source of truth for multiple work streams. The ability to have granular data at a sheet and then roll it up into reports, dashboards and even PowerBI is invaluable to the team.
Excellent platform to colaborate
What do you like best about the product?
Smatsheet is relatively easy to maneuver & it's great for collaboration with other Teams. Smartsheet has more interactive features than Excel or other similar programs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initially, Smartsheet was a bit intimidating; however, I quickly got the hang of it. The features are extensive; therefore there's always more to learn.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration within our Team. Extremely beneficial since our Team members are not all in the same location.
A versatile collaboration tool
What do you like best about the product?
The platform offers an intuitive interface, adaptable project tracking tools, personalized workflow and automation options, seamless real-time teamwork, and smooth integration with various apps and services.
What do you dislike about the product?
Visibility on reporting should be more like Excel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It supports effective team collaboration, makes it easy to monitor project tasks, streamlines the agent coaching process by tracking compliance, and offers reliable tools for managing roster updates, changes, and payroll.
Excellent project management tool!
What do you like best about the product?
When you have so many projects to manage and complete Smartsheet provides the tools, customization, and automation needed to keep you on track. I used automation to develop workflows so I never miss a deadline which helps me meet all my annual goals.
What do you dislike about the product?
The look and feel could be better specifically when creating forms for external audiences.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With a team working across the globe on the same projects and assignments the project management and task management capabilities allow us to pick up where someone left off easily. This allows the work to continue even if we are not working with each other directly.
Effective and efficient!
What do you like best about the product?
The tool is very user-friendly and intuitive. I especially appreciate the Dashboard functionality and the automation built into the tool!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could customize the presentations more - colors, fonts, symbols, etc. so this can be a great representation of our company in addition to a great solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Smartsheet as a project management/communication platform. The automation brings a tremendous amount of timesaving and the permissioning gives us many options for transparency in our organization
Align your workflow to Smartsheet's ideal else be in for a clunky time
What do you like best about the product?
Automations make life easier. Summary fields remove the need for cross-sheet references and bulky cell formulas. Update requests keep things manageable. Other options don't compare. Sticking with smartsheet's bread and butter functionality and designing your process to work with smartsheet rather than the other way around will keep life simpler.
What do you dislike about the product?
No built-in function to handle time-type data; in fact, you actively have to adjust for system date-time columns to perform age or date ranking functions. We need a time-type column. There's workarounds for most anything, but once you start relying on cross-sheet references to surface data or pull specific references you need to take great care else things get prone to breaking or not updating intuitively.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is solving the problem of keeping track of an excess of active projects and their relative progress. Forms allow for easy data collection and periodic check in.
Powerful Project Management and Robust tool
What do you like best about the product?
Perfect tool with many automation and integrations within a single SAAS tool. Saves time to manage resources using calendar and roster management. Tracks completion of project timelines and sends a reminder as automation is set up.
What do you dislike about the product?
In the grid, once the auto number is added, you cannot delete the same number and use it again. There should be a way to use same auto number just not to break consistency
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
You can define who can view, edit, admin or owner to a sheet. This helps build constructive role control for particular grids, items, reports or dashboards. Now without thinking, you can control who can edit specific rows which are assigned to them only.
Transformative After Growing Pains
What do you like best about the product?
Its versatility, particularly with premium add-ons, is incredibly powerful. It has suited us well in almost every situation where we say "We need this tool, but it doesn't yet exist."
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve to get beyond simple form-filling and into the truly powerful use cases is pretty significant. With so many features, its difficult for many to grasp how Smartsheet can/should be used. This has caused some scaling challenges in our organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has been majorly helpful at reducing/eliminating the more tedious, admin-type tasks. There is much less copying, pasting, and sharing duplicative information in our workflows.
