Fantastic Application with Room for Minor Improvements

  • June 26, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
the workflows / automations are so convenient, the forms function makes it super easy for inexperienced users, editing tools are good enough and the Last Comment function makes tracking very easy and convenient
What do you dislike about the product?
the main thing that bothers me is that editing a cell is not as easy as it is in excel and also some basic mathemitcal functions would be very useful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking of tasks in a team

Great Tool for Hypercare

  • June 26, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like how accessible Smartsheet is. We link it on web pages during the hypercare phase for new product releases and updates. It gives users a quick place to provide feedback and is easy to manage and route responses with the notifications.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the share options are a little confusing on what to click and how to add new people, it seems like there are a lot of layers to get to what you need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is saving is from having an influx of support tickets when a new feature or update is released. Linking the Smartsheet on the page for a month captures a lot of the initial questions and suggestions that users have during the transition phase. Giving product owners and developers access to manage the sheet opens up a direct line of communication. All feedback is evaluated and then stories are created as needed.

Smartsheet Review - 9 year user

  • June 26, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I describe Smartsheet as a combination of Excel and Microsoft Project. It would be considered a light version of both versions but that can also be a very good solution for a lot of uses. When tracking a lot of steps in a project or a lot of dates Smartsheet is very useful. The most powerful aspect of Smartsheet in my opinion is the collaboration with others. Your entire team can use the same sheet at the same time with no issues. The company is also very good at taking suggestions and then adding features that users want to see. I have been a user for over 9 years and have suggested it to 100s of people in the company I work for and others. I would highly recommend giving it a try.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main downside of Smartsheet for me is related to my use. I manage multiple projects at any one time. Smartsheet is more designed to have 1 sheet per project rather than multiple projects on 1 sheet. This is due to some of the formatting constraints. I have so many projects I manage it is not practical to have 1 sheet for each one becasue it would take too much time to close and open all these verious sheets. Our team has figured out ways to use 1 shee to manage multiple projects but as such we have had to give up some of the funcionality. Overall, however this is still a very good solution and we have ot found another one that would be better for what we need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our teams have multiple projects going at all times. Smartsheet helps us keep track of these projects by tracking multiple milestone tasks within a project along with the dates for each milestone. We track when each one was completed or when it should have been completed. This helps us stay on track and ensure we are meeting company expectations.

Great cloud based tool for project planning and dashboard reporting

  • June 26, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to link multiple sheets makes it easier to visualise and track progress in a dashboard. Updates are automatically carried over to linked dashboards which makes project status reporting a lot easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
No offline mode available and sometimes it takes a while to load which can be quite frustrating if it's to be used for a project status meeting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy collaboration

The best way to know how my project is doing

  • June 24, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Visualization is incredibly easy to understand. I love it because I don't have to struggle to decipher the information on the screen. This is one of the features that makes it easy to communicate with clients.
The implementation of formulas is quite good. It is slightly similar to Excel but much more powerful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation is plentiful but a bit difficult to understand. I would love to have tutorials to accompany the documentation, especially for new team members.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is the mainstay of all the projects I work on. It is a great platform for detailing each step from an overall plan. This is perfect for assigning each task in a very intuitive way.
Communication is often a challenge on larger porjects, but now it is considerably smoother thanks to the platform's communication tools.

Best tool for Automation in Forms and Projects

  • June 24, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
You can share sheets with multiple organization users, creating automated emails and workflows. Useful reports created from multiple sheets in a single one. Can create pivots and add formulas in the grid.
What do you dislike about the product?
Fewer options for adding formulas in a single sheet. It makes the sheet slower too. In a few places, the distorted image comes in the columns section. Need to work on fixing a few bugs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet added a new Dynamic view which helped to segregate tasks based on your requirement. Able to use smart sheet pivots for data report creation.
Smartsheet grade limit increased to 20k per sheet.

Smartsheet is a powerful tool.

  • June 24, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a powerful tool. It has a great structure because of the hierarchies. They allow you to dive into different project levels in a way you can't with other tools like Google Sheets or Excel.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish you could edit Smartsheet files live like you can in Google Sheets or Excel. I also think the platform is not as intuitive as it could be when you first get started.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows me to keep track of various projects, whose involved on them, the tasks at hand, and the timing for everything all in one spot without the information becoming overwhelming.

A deep dive into productivity with Smartsheet

  • June 24, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like the most about Smartsheet is that it works well with other tools I use to manage my projects. It also makes my sheets look good and easy to understand. Plus, it does a lot of the work automatically so I don't have to, which helps me get more done.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet's mobile app doesn't have all the things that the web version has, and that makes it hard to get work done when I'm not at my desk. Also, I wish there were more ways to look at the sheets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps me handle lots of projects at the same time. I love using the Gantt charts to see how everything fits together. It does a lot of the boring stuff for me, so there’s less chance of mistakes and things get done faster. It's also really good for working with other teams because everyone can see and talk about the same information.

Smartsheet for the Win!

  • June 23, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet automations have improved our business processes tremendously, we've implemented several forms to reduce the number of emails, knocks on doors, and time spent tracking down data. As a large business organization we use smart sheets regularly and to the maximum capacities.
What do you dislike about the product?
Currently Unable to filter by row color, unable to remove duplicates. Unable to use premium features like sheet activity and editing without a premium account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reduction of sharing multiple Excel files throughout the origination. The ability to create forms for user submissions in lieu of emails and the ability to create dashboards to track, monitor and share the progress.

The user's perspective on Smartsheets

  • June 23, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The benefit of Smartsheets is that it has many different templates to use for various purposes. I like not having all projects use the same style but having them all available in one source.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a learning curve when using a new sheet. You have to play with it a bit and match it to the purposes of your project. Sometimes I think one is most appropriate, but wish it had just one more element. Then, I have to build it to have all the things my team needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is benefitting our department currently because it is new to many on the team and so they pay closer attention to those things that appear different than the way they are used to seeing it.
