Great tool for your imagination
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is very easy to start using, and versatile in its application. A mix of project/spreadsheet and automation functionality makes it quite easy to set up not only for project management but for any business processes. It is also great for quick dashboards setup. With the link to other tools, like Resource Planning, and Calendar, users get even better controls in optimising visibility and traceability, either in a project or operational activity.
I'd suggest it is pretty much "no-code" solution builder; however, available templates make it quick to build an MVP for your specific process.

What do you dislike about the product?
While it is a great easy start for small teams and simple reporting, the administration overhead and the need to get additional modules may hinder the adoption and become a burden for larger undertakings like program or portfolio management or automation of a business function. It is crucial to be aware of how some functions work across apps to build a solution for specific needs.
Some capabilities are not very robust, like no security on folders, only workspaces, and some limited formula functions compared to Excel. Also, Gantt chart visualisation ability is limited and building a high-level timeline for a project is a rather complex activity compared to MS Project. Tracking predecessors is a very manual process too, making it hard to use for complex interdependent schedules.
One thing that I'd really love to improve is the ability to copy automation from page to page and automatically deploy it retrospectively to multiple sheets as an Out-of-the-box function. Currently, it requires an additional module, which not every organisation can afford. Making such functionality available would surely increase adoption among smaller teams/businesses.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet provides the program/project portfolio visibility and supports project teams in delivering projects. With the help of Smartsheet, we optimise time for reporting and enhance PMO's ability to support teams in executing projects in a more controlled environment.
Great project management tool
What do you like best about the product?
I utilize Smartsheet as a project tracking tool for overseeing the progress of more than 50 projects. The reporting tools and customizable dashboards are among its standout features. The ability to generate figures and tables from the data in Smartsheet greatly aids in creating impactful presentations. Moreover, the scripting capabilities, akin to Excel, prove to be a significant time-saving advantage for new users who are adept at Excel programming.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the help function is a valuable resource, it may not always provide answers to all questions. In some instances, I have encountered situations where the information I sought was not available in the help tab, necessitating me to seek assistance from my colleagues to find the answer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
"I utilize it as a versatile reporting tool to communicate project outcomes and status to higher-level stakeholders. Additionally, as the project nears its conclusion, I employ it as an effective handover tool to facilitate a smooth transition to the next stage."
Smartsheet is a very effective platform for small/medium business group.
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet keeps the same working habits as regular office software. Integrated with spreadsheets, emails/messages, memos and other functions, the whole team can share and communicate efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is better to improve the interface of the app on smartphones. Checking the messages and attachments on the same screen is not working well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We don't use emails for communication now for the whole team. We can track on the information on Smartsheet.
Worth pushing through the lerning curve!
What do you like best about the product?
I love that it can be used as a central repository for all our project documents right in the same sheet we use for tracking project progress. Handy to have a record of when files were uploaded also.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the sheets are simple enough to produce and navigate, I have had some trouble understanding how to link workbooks, create automated charts and other more advanced options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previously our tasks were mainly carried out via email / individual spreadsheets which led to a lot of confusion and "I can't find that in my inbox" emails. Now we have one place to keep everything readily accessible and a single shared doc so we know we are all working to the same list. We use it as a tracker, document repository and to provide evidence of dates certain items were submitted to the project team.
Automation is your friend
What do you like best about the product?
You can get email updates as notifications, track changes and have a dashboard that output usual data. I used Smartsheet to manage projects, issue invoices, rostering, send automated reminders.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is some learning curve, a lot of formula are linked and if someone modifies something, everything linked gets affected. If someone accidentally delete some lines in a sheet and saved, you might not be able to recover them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Metrics and data, Smartsheet helps me collect all the project information which are important for review and improvement of the business.
Automated reminders for rostering and allocating tasks.
Smartsheet has save us time and streamline our processes.
Now there is also AI search function which is useful.

Functional for organisation
What do you like best about the product?
The system is functional for organising projects. You can adapt the settings however you want. There is a lot of freedom with how you use it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Feels 'clunky' - could be more intuitive to use. Although you can add lines to create your own plan, it's fiddly and the display is boring and not easy to read.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mapping out project milestones and tasks, assigning tasks, and tracking to deadlines.
A highly functional, user-friendly platform
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a fantastic platform that we use for a myriad of purposes. It offers a clean, user-friendly interface and is a great tool for collaboration within our team.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much to dislike about Smartsheet; at a push, I would say that it can be a bit tricky to understand how different sheets work together and there is a small learning curve, however their support team are very helpful and responsive. There are also some limitations to what access users have depending on their user level, which can increase administration depending on who owns a certain sheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
From basic, everyday spreadsheet use, to tracking social media performance & planning, managing large-scale yearly projects across our organisation, to logging and tracking staff illness via submission forms and lists, Smartsheet provides an endless array of functions that our team use every day.
User friendly & expecting more excel features
What do you like best about the product?
I like how it is very similar to Excel, so it's easy to get hands-on to set up and get my team onboard. At the same time, it also has some other features that Excel has, like attachments, links, dashboard, which can help to compile all our documents in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Too used to Excel quick keys and functions, would like to see more updated Excel functions to be implemented in the system, like Xlookup, and some quick keys similar to Excel like sumif etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storing all docs in one place and able to draw individual report based on the source. Previously, we had our data saved in different spreadsheets, sharepoint folders, teams (difficult to search for things), now it's all in one place and easy to search which saves us lots of time.
Delighted with my experience using SmartSheet and would highly recommend it to everyone
What do you like best about the product?
Its simple, yet advanced technology, making every day working that much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unless I am mistaken, i don't see a way of uploading an excel or word document in a grid and be able to open quickly and amend/sign without having to download, then edit then re upload.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Document control, more transparent communication, ease of reporting using Pie Charts or similar. File uploading and sharing especially with external users.
Smartsheets has really help us keep track of productivity in an easy and effective way
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can easily setup automations for reminders and that I can create effective workflows and automations. I love the functionality of being able to create forms and that anyone can complete them without having access to the sheet and that those sheets can then be used to create an effective workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tge desktop app has a lot of updates but it seems like nothing changes. I'd like to have an option to be able to force people when opening a certain sheet to have to give an update on overdue tickets as the emails are always ignored by our staff.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheets is helping us effectively obtaining information from our clients as we make use of a sheet to request information and our clients can upload all the supporting documents onto the ticket. It decreases the amount of emails to be sent and all team members have access to this in one place.
