A Tool Beyond Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has been extremely helpful for project management. I've been able to track my team's project progress by using the different features such as the forms and automations. The dashboard feature is also great for reporting.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Smartsheet shares a lot of the same features as Excel, there are some formulas that don't work in Smartsheet. Another key feature that would be helpful is having multiple workbook tabs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my work, I use Smartsheet to help with workload management, project management, as well as productivity reporting. Another area that I am planning on using Smartsheet for work is portfolio management.
SmartSheet is super useful to build workflows for approval processes
What do you like best about the product?
We use SmartSheet to create forms that require approvals, such as for a Master's project approval from a student to a faculty advisor, or track progress on HR onboarding and offboarding tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
SmartSheet is limited in the form fields that are allowed, for example only having text/number and select list as items. More complex forms fields (e.g. range, tables) would require other software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SmartSheet helps solve daily operational issues such as tracking onboarding and offboarding of staff via HR and sharing the data with IT and Facilities. We are more able to pass data from one team to another without data loss.
Smartsheet for Preclinical Applications
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Smartsheet allows a centralized hub for our team and collaborators (both internal and external) to locate information and resources. It also helps to keep our studies organized and running smoothly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to have a feature where people can go in and edit forms after they've been submitted without having to access this actual sheet. We use these for studies that are highly regulated, so we need to know when things have been edited, and it would be easier to allow people to resubmit something rather than giving access to the full sheet(s).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As stated previously in my review statement, it is wonderful to have a centralized place for both internal and external collaborators to work in. This saves us time and effort in setting up multiple outlets for communications and partnership.
Smartsheet is the top tool I use for work
What do you like best about the product?
The different functions it offers! I love how it's like excel, but more interactive. It really helps with communication and making sure everyone stays on top of their duties
What do you dislike about the product?
The limitations based on your status. If you are not a licensed user, it really makes it inconvenient to make changes to your sheet. I wish I didn't have to make simple edits for other people who are not licensed users because it does waste my time and takes me away from other work I am doing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A huge problem Smartsheet has fixed is team collaboration, especially cross functional team work. It has really helped us to keep track of all the different work we need to do, not only amongst our different teams within our department, but also teams outside of our departments that are required within bigger projects.
Smartsheet has made Project Management a well-oiled machine!
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to connect multiple sheets has been a game-changer. The ability to link cells and use shared data to develop different analyses has allowed our business to reduce many inefficiencies.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've been working with automation and sharing data between sheets, but I've found a few shortcomings. It would be amazing to copy or move data to other sheets, but have the ID that smartsheet uses to connect them not be the heading of the column. The heading can mean different things about the data depending on what's it's being used to show in a given sheet. Having the ability to edit the column heading, but still have Smartsheet know it's the same column would be incredible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has provided our business the ability to use historical data in new and innovative ways to build stronger estimates, identify inefficiencies in processes, as well as providing a transparent platform to share information with people outside of our organization.
Great tool for gallery workers and audience researchers!
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet offers a streamlined way to track relevant data in our museum. All items are categorized appropriately and effectively, making our jobs easier every time we return to Smartsheet to use as a reference.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there is a glitch that sends my newest entries to the bottom of a 4000+ row list of items. The sheet becomes a lot less automated and requires more manual toggling to rearrange items accordingly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet creates a straightforward way of logging items/tasks for every necessary department to see and tend to. It makes it easier to track and refer back to tasks.
Simple, integrated and covers a wide range of use cases
What do you like best about the product?
Smarsheets is robust with features that impact my daily work. Features that I enjoy in Smartsheets include the ability to integrate forms that collect and sort data within a sheet, project management based on various automation, and dashboards that I customize for different stakeholders. Compared to other tools, the search features within Smartsheet is also superb, allowing us to access the information we need when we need it quickly. Smartsheets is something that I rely on to be successful in my job.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is a challenge to answer as there are so many upsides when compared to other tools on the market. One future upgrade that would benefit smartsheets is the ability to track changes more easily, especially since it allows so many users to work within the same sheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheets solves many problems on a daily basis. It is a great calendar tool that allows hundreds of stakeholders to submit requests that get approved/denied using robust automations and builds out schedules that can be viewed in calendars, grids, or cards allowing owners and presenters, etc to all be notified regarding upcoming events and changes. The tool then tracks action items and allows me to build them into a project management flow.
Great cloud based spreadsheet program with easy to use advanced functions
What do you like best about the product?
Excel knowledge transfers very well so the program is easy to pick up fast. The formulas and advanced functions like automations, forms, and reports are intuitive. Sharing is very easy and great options.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more font and text formatting options. I would like to be able to hide a row and I would like to be able to create more standalone objects in dashboards. Right now, almost everything in dashboards needs to already exist somewhere else on Smartsheet. I also would like to be able to toggle between normal view and a tab view where I could have multiple sheets open in different tabs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a project manager, Smartsheet acts as a great collaboration tool to communicate to stakeholders and task owners. It also allows me to stay organized and share visualizations of the timelines, projects, and tasks being monitored.
Flexible and robust! Great for project plans, reports, and visually appealing dashboards!
What do you like best about the product?
I like the options within Smartsheet. I can build a project plan, including a Gantt chart. I can also easily build reports, and I can also build visually appealing dashboards that are accessible to anyone in my organization!
What do you dislike about the product?
It's' not super intuitive. I have to spend a lot of time onboarding new employees, but that would probably be similar in any project management tool if it's new to them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is helping us management complex projects and is also helping us manage work requests, portfolio reports, and workload.
Any business should be using Smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is incredibly straight forward to use. My staff find it very intuitive and easier to use than other spreadsheets. I also like the fact you have multiple templates (Ganett, Client Tracker, Buget,etc.) I also love the fact you can create a Smartsheet Form that allows you to create a client survey that will input the date automatically into the Smartsheet.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do wish Smartsheet wish Smartsheet did not keep filters active after the a user has exited the sheet,. I have one employee that always forgets to turn off the filter and if you don't catch that a filter is on it will generate an incorrect data report. Perhaps make all filter temporary unless a permanent box is checked?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows multiple members of our team to access and add information to a sheet without downloading and re-uploading a excel sheet. We also love the fact mulitiple people can work a the same time in the sheet.
