The next level of Excel
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is so much for intuitave and user friendly than Excel. The automations make it simple to turn basic information into an amazing transformation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Formulas. I've never been a formula person and would rather see drop down options instead of having to get the formulas just right.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bringing information from a variety of sources together into one platform.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is very similar to Microsoft Excel which makes it easy to use. If you are proficient in Microsoft Excel learning how to use the sheets on Smartsheet is an easy transition.
What do you dislike about the product?
The visuals are not intuitive, difficult to sort, and are too rigid to be worthwhile. Compared to a pivot table in Excel the visualizations available in Smartsheet compare very poorly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet's sheet functionality hits a niche spot that Microsoft Excel does not with dates and timeline tracking that makes it superior to Microsoft Excel sheets hosted on Microsoft Teams, or Sharepoint.
Smartsheet is a great project management tool with amazing Analytics/Reporting features !!
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a great tool with so many features. Better that Excel, and gives the use a feel of a product to use for project management, reporting, customer insights and more. Easy to import/export data out / in from other systems and into Smartsheet.

Nothing that comes to mind. It is a great tool to use and let the organization flourish with it
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We did not have a project management tool at our organisation. Once we heard about Smartsheet, it was an instant win over the demo we saw. Our executives signed the agreement, and we purchased a handful of licenses for our Customer Success Managers to use for their daily project management, tasks, workflow etc.
Easy and Excellent tool for collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
As a Product Support Manager in the InfoTech sector, Smartsheet allows me to track product requirements more effectively using its highly customizable templates. This makes it much simpler for me to update stakeholders while enabling the project team to uphold governance and data protection.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's possible that some people who have never used a spreadsheet will initially find the interface confusing and complex.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At any given time, my team is working on several projects. Smartsheet keeps track of several milestone tasks inside a project along with the dates for each milestone, which helps me stay on top of these projects. This is a great way to keep on track and make sure the team is living up to company expectations.
Good tool. Add the possibibilty to work like an excel document but you can add workflows.

The approve and request could have more features customizables. Difficult to create workflow more specific
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before smartsheet I have a lot of excel document and I use mail system to do the workflow. This task is easier with Samrtsheet

What do you like best about the product?
I like how Smartsheet works well with apps like Google Drive and Microsoft Office. You can look at your projects in different ways, like lists or charts. It also sends you reminders and updates so you don’t miss anything.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet could improve by offering more advanced reporting features. Additionally, when dealing with extensive sheets, the platform sometimes feels less responsive and takes time to load.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps handle lots of projects by giving you a main place to keep track of everything. The automatic stuff means less work by hand, saving time. You can attach files and comment right there, which makes talking to your team easier.

What do you like best about the product?
The automation feature is seamless and easy to use. Makes life more straightforward as compared to using Excel or Google Sheets.
What do you dislike about the product?
Time calculations are not available, and date calculation can sometimes be tricky and tedious through functions. Overall, date functions are quite useful.
Would love to have a functionality where we can access data from a sheet into an input form. It will give us the functionality to use the current data in the sheet to be used for heling to choose what options are available which can be used to input in the form.

Mainly helping us automate quite a few of our processes, and now we need minimal manual intervention. Which makes us more productive!

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is what keeps our business running. We track our projects from initiation all the way through to close. Smartsheets allows us to collaborate across all departments, including Finance, Sales, Product Management, Services & Support and Marketing. The dashboard functionality allows for easy-to-share visual information to make critical business decisions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Resource Management is not as robust as advertised. There is missing functionality such as tracking time against specific tasks (ease of use), the ability to update project specific information (such as locking the date so consultants cannot retroactively claim labor), create and download reports easily and the ability to forecast hours. All of these elements are necessary to communicate effectively,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping us to communicate with our customers in an organized and professional way, especially as it relates to creating dashboards. It is also helping us with collaboration across different departments.
Using Smartsheet as a Project Manager
What do you like best about the product?
As a project manager, I enjoy using it for action item lists, calendars, and charts for weekly meetings. Each sheet has a lot of functionality that can help keep everything on track throughout a project.
What do you dislike about the product?
When trying to edit column properties, it isn't as easy as excel. Not sure if it is just because i have used excel forever, but it is not as intuitive. Getting everything set up for an action item list takes awhile but once you have it the way you like it is helpful as a template.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keep track of action item list items from week to week to continue the conversations without forgetting anything as long as good notes are taken. Comments feature is great for when people cant make the meetings and they want a recap.
Smartsheet not as smart as one would hope in 2023
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has a mostly responsive and intuitive UI that should come naturally to anyone familiar with generic spreadsheet apps like Google Sheets or MS Excel. There are some nice advanced features like calculations based on working days.
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of the more advanced configuration is hidden or located in a place that isn't intuitive. The aforementioned working day calculation I stumbled upon randomly, despite looking for it at length previously. I'd like to see more automation features, too.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use smart sheet for managing projects like upgrades and migrations and it allows our teams to gauge the project's overall progress at a glance and track progress. This is something we can easily communicate to shareholders.
