Smartsheet makes working on a remote team so much easier!
What do you like best about the product?
The best part about Smartsheet is the ability to have multiple team members working on the same sheet at the same time. The ability to have forms that auto populate data into the Smartsheet is also very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main thing I miss in Smartsheet that Excel has is the ability to filter rows by color. It would also be nice to be able to have multiple tabs in Smartsheet the way I can in Excel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps me collaborate with co-workers all over the country and streamline data collection from both internal and external sources.
Very clean roll up of information with good automation
What do you like best about the product?
The simple automation parameters than allow you to build out robust workflows around administrating projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of complex free-form automation allowing non-smart sheet users to get more data and interactions via email.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It condenses equipment and site requirements into crisp roll-ups as projects that otherwise would have too many details to follow and allows automation of following up on those details. Its embed code feature allows it to out pace all sharepoint functionality beside the hosting of the site.
Smartsheet is a great tool for collaboration in any business!
What do you like best about the product?
I love that smartsheet is a live platform that anyone can access at any time. It is really great for collaborating across departments and keeping projects on schedule.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are not many downsides to using smartsheet - it is a great tool. My biggest challenge is just that my colleagues are not familiar with the tool so there is a learning curve that requires extra support and training.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used smartsheet to create a cross-department tracking tool for permitting public events taking place in our community. This tool allows multiple users to collaborate and ensure everyone has up to date access to all information.
Hassle free
What do you like best about the product?
I've been using the smartsheet for how many months and i can say that it helps me a lot with my work. Incredibly im in the admin and HR department. Easy to track records of employees. And same us the report.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can say that since I'm still not a pro with using the smartsheet, sometimes im have a problem with the correct formula. But with the community's help, we can ask for the fit formula.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The right formula, not all formulas in Excel we use it to smartsheet. So what i do is im asking the smartsheet community about the formula. Sometimes it's working, and sometimes it's not working.
Useful to track projects
What do you like best about the product?
I like how I can nest and hide smaller sub tasks under tasks and I can look at projects at different levels and elevations.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times it can be difficult to manage certain fields that I've included- not all my rows need all of those fields.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can keep track of tasks and others can view them as well.
Great with project management
What do you like best about the product?
I like how Smartsheet is user-friendly when creating the sheets and using conditional formatting is easy. It is easy to share the sheet with all users and allow them to make live updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't modify the first row and there are limitations in what we can put in Conditional Formatting. Also, it requires users with no Smartsheet account to create an account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems Smartsheet is solving are keeping track of tasks and accountability for all users. It benefits the department as it creates more organization in the workflow.
Great for easy organization of large projects
What do you like best about the product?
Creating automation allows Smartsheet to be very useful. When projects have deadlines or expiration dates, use the quick automation tab to create reminders for staff prevents projects from getting behind.
What do you dislike about the product?
When creating large projects, you run into certain limitations. I found not being able to edit the 1st column did limit certain things I was trying to achieve. Also, it is essential to remember that this isn't Excel, and for calculations, excel performs much better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a large project that has a lot of hands touching it. We were able to create a database that people could fill out "surveys" in order to input data rather than having 10+ on a sheet at the same time.
Good for collaboration and collecting data
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to collaborate with multiple teams in the organization is precious. Once you learn the basics of using Smartsheet, it becomes easier to manage workflows - this is best used for simple and not overly complex types of projects. The automation feature is a fantastic addition that allows you to set reminders, flag overdue tasks and provide notifications tailored to team members so they see all the information they need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Many features are not intuitive once you've gotten through the basics. There are a lot of formatting limitations, and you would expect it to work similarly to Excel. Still, there are many cases where that experience does not carry over, so Smartsheet has become less preferred for Finance needs and more as a way to track Construction activities internally instead of having a tool that satisfies the requirements of multiple departments and can be easily shared with external audiences. Functionality is also lost if you try to manage numerous sheets within a project - which takes away from the overall user experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us collaborate cross-functionally across departments n the organization. We manage projects and detailed construction logs in Smartsheet, therefore, being able to tag and assign responsibilities and having everyone on the same sheet simultaneously saves us time and energy and allows us to maintain internal checks and balances efficiently.

The most helpful part about Smartsheets is the connection between sheets and ability for staff across the organization to access the same information
What do you dislike about the product?
We have found that some of the restrictions around categorizing have been difficult. We want to be able to attach multiple labels to certain entities so that we can pull reports for each of the different labels but we have been stymied becuase the product(s) we are seeking have not yet been rolled out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Maintaining our information in one place and making it easily accessible for others in my organization.
Versatile platform that allows you to create and share files, schedules, and forms with others.
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful part about Smartsheet is that you can create tracking sheets to help you keep track of work assignments and the progress of those assignments. It can easily be shared with your team, allowing everyone to edit and collaborate on the sheet. The upside is that it can also be used for personal reasons. You can use Smartsheets to keep track of your yearly personal goals, bills, and events.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside of Smartsheet is that it does take time to master the platform. With that set, you will need time to learn all the perks this platform has to offer.

Smartsheet is helping me solve the problem of forgetting timelines and the progress of a project. It also helps me keep track on sample submissions and when they need to be processed by.
