As an operations manager, I use Smartsheet for project management and data sharing.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of sharing with contacts inside the company and the ability to filter and condition data.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the Data Shuttle had more troubleshooting tips. I also wish that there were more editing and formatting options for forms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet keeps data visible to all teams needed, as opposed to individual teams having their own way of collecting data on Excel, OneNote, etc. It centralizes data that multiple teams need to see. It also allows you to set and forget sheets with automations.

What do you like best about the product?
Tracking progrmas that I work is very easy in Smartsheet. I can get any updated report at anytime.
My team is very comfortable working with this tool and see the difference in comparison to Excel sheets.

What do you dislike about the product?
Gant view could be aprimorated to get better visibility of clashing projects. Reports filter are quite difficult to undersant when you are setting up a new report.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Planning new projects, roadmaps, baselines can be easily found. Integration between projects is a great feature that helps me to emerge a number of different projects in only one report

What do you like best about the product?
I love the ability to create a unified workspace that has has global connectibilty. The best feature I use are Dashboards to track and constantly manage where we stand within progress status.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I wish we could incorporate is a functionality to track whether a row has an attachment uploaded to the row. It could be a column variable with a 1 or 0 return so we can use to track when a completion report has been uploaded or flagged for us to review. I think that would help increase the depth in analysis for reporting
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows the unification of all parties onto a cloud based site. The ability to use dates to automate workflow communications keeps us on task at all times.
Great tool for organizing projects
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a great tool to organize files, projects and keep everyone up to date. Also, it's great to keep everyone on track by checking off the boxes when tasks are done

I would say all the experiences that I've been through with smartsheet were great. It really helped myself to improve quality of work, especially for the time management

in terms of works, tasks and projects, it really helps us to keep track to upcoming submissions.

Easy to use and great for team input!
What do you like best about the product?
I like the flow of the program. You can access various files and edit content while others do to. This is a huge asset for team coordinated events and timelines.
What do you dislike about the product?
I know there is a significant dependency on Excel and like programs, but I think that habit needs breaking. I believe there are shortcuts that many people may be used to that would be an excellent addition to the program, such as "ALT + " to sum a column/row automatically.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task management during periods such as month-end. Our large team needs to complete specific tasks by the deadline. Smartsheet is a lifeline because it allows everyone to stay on track.
Great project management software for project managers
What do you like best about the product?
It has everything you need in project management software. I love how it enables you to break down your project timeline and tasks with clear visualization of the dependencies, and ease of collaboration internally and externally.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a steep learning curve if you're not used to robust project management software. So there is a required time investment for both organizations and individuals to learn how to use it and be able to maximize its potential.

It's a way of managing timelines for customer projects. In addition, it provides visibility for all involved parties on the status and deadline of tasks in order to get to the project goals.
Powerful tool for our university
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet's features are quite impressive. I work primarily with its spreadsheets and forms - It offers a wide array of data collection tools and has a user-friendly interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet isn't necessarily intuitive when you first begin using it, and I sometimes struggle to learn new tools or features within the system. Fortunately, Smartsheet offers plenty of trainings and assistance to address this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has solved workflow problems, particularly when they are inter-departmental. We set triggers in our spreadsheets to prompt users when action is required on their part, and this has boosted efficiency immensely.
Solid collaboration tool, has administrative pains at scale
What do you like best about the product?
Fast learning curve for users. Easy to implement access and security. Free accounts can do a reasonable amount of work when paid accounts are leading. Basic support is solid, plenty of documentation and learning built into the tool for users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Administrative power is lacking. More complicated user controls are not possible by an administrator. Having the end user accept a change when a sysadmin makes the request is an extra step that often frustrates the user, who may want a quick resolution. While tier-one support is excellent for a user, it is relatively useless for an admin. Escalating support tickets is painful and not diplomatic (I have to contact my CSM or sales rep to get pro support or engineering). Smartsheets withholds the top-tier engineering support "TAM" for annual fees, while most of these escalations are due to the product itself and should be supported without additional fees. Note that this annual fee for a TAM is $80,000, which is excessive for support that should be included for larger enterprise accounts, descriptions like extortion and ransom come to mind.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheets make for quick collaboration. Teams can build timelines, and project plans to share with internal and external teams. We have created many tracking queues that assist in notifications, quickly shifting tasks from collaborator to collaborator.

What do you like best about the product?
It's a great way to collaborate between groups. We use it for project management and I love that you are easily able to view the status of an item, who it's assigned to, when it's due, and what other controls are waiting on it to be completed.
What do you dislike about the product?
There really isn't much I dislike about Smartsheet! I wish I had more time to learn more about it and all it's features because I'm sure there's more it can do that I'm not even aware of!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The visibility to see ownership, status, what tasks are dependant on each other, and due date. It's cool to see everything in one place and still have all the collaboration!

Very flexible, easy operation, be able to lock each cell to avoid unexpected change by anyone else

Regarding the project schedule, the whole teammates can easily access to the schedule smartsheet to be readable. I won't generate again the PDF version of the schedule if using MS project tool.
Regarding the sample quality demand, the functions of my custom are distributed around the world. Via the tool, easy input and management for the sample collection coordinator.
