We see Smartsheet as a really useful tool for us to get our work done
What do you like best about the product?
It's a connector to Salesforce and the ability to create forms to survey users. It's really convenient to have as a tool to automate a lot of our processes in our business.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's really not much that I don't like about Smartsheet. Maybe the only thing I can say is sometimes it can be limited in a few of its functions but otherwise it's still really useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to automate a system where we can keep track of users that are active or inactive in Salesforce through Smartsheet. I don't have to go to the backend to make changes and can just do it directly through the sheet which I really like.

What do you dislike about the product?
Should have more of functionalities as in MS excel like tools, usage should be more user friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me share realtime updates & share with multiple users at the same time.

What do you like best about the product?
I can create different sheets in different formats depending on their content and use. I can assign tasks to other people. It's reasonably priced and literally keeps my entire life organized.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really can't think of anything off the top of my head! I know there's a ton of capabilities that I haven't yet explored but I know there's tutorials available for me to watch which is great!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping my day-to-day and long-term projects organized and on task as well as company-wide deadlines and marketing plans. It's hard to find a time-management program that the entire team gets on board with and Smartsheet is the one that does.
Smartsheet: The good and the not so good
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet makes it much easier to program similar features you'd want to incorporate on an excel type sheet. I like that it automatically allows for different views such as calendar and gantt charts. It's easy enough to link between sheets for more robust cross-referencing, and the automation features help save on programming time as well. I like all the template options available and although I haven't delved into every feature, if I spent more time with it, I'm sure there would be plenty of other features I would find useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
At one time Smartsheet used to load in seconds, for the past year though, it has been painfully slow, which makes me want to convert over to excel for some things. It used to be my go-to spreadsheet option, but now I feel like I need to pick and choose when to use it. It is also not great for collaborative work. I am currently using it to track many timelines, but when many people are using the same smartsheet, things quickly will get saved out of order. I don't know why it happens, but it is a real pain to have to correct. The last thing that I wish it had was a tab feature like excel where you can quickly reference other smartsheets instead of having to open a new window for each sheet. Having the ability to customize the look of the sheet by freezing rows to always have info at the top of a sheet or combining for a header type feel would also be nice, but I understand the limitations there because of how it functions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My department does not currently use any project management software like Asana or Monday, so I'm using Smartsheet to program the same functionality that I would get from a PM software. It helps with tracking timelines for projects, send reminders to people for when things are due, keep track of project status, track incoming requests, track employee vacation requests etc.

The platform is something my clients are not as familiar with and prefer microsoft project because it has more capabilities, such as resource allocations etc

Smartsheet is Excellent for Organised Individuals
What do you like best about the product?
Advantages: it's intuitive, user-friendly, and so efficient at collaboration. The collaboration aspect seems to be the best part for me. I like to organise my files in a certain way so sharing Smartsheets is ideal because each individual can organise the shared files however they wish, without us all having to stick to someone else's organisation format. I'm only sorry that i do not have more time to self-train and really take advantage of all the benefits Smartsheet has to offer.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not sure i really have any dissatisfaction with Smartsheet. MS Excel is simply easier to use for certain types of tasks but Smartsheet just has a bit of a learning curve, it is simply a matter of learning how to use it especially formulas and connecting various smartsheets with formulas or linked data. I don't consider this a huge disadvantage, just a fact of life.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The organic way it has been set up to be collaborative and accessible is one of the best aspects of Smartsheet. Even including attachments within each row of data is spectacular. And i really love Docusign too, better than Adobe Sign.
A turbo Excel for easy collaboration and communication!
What do you like best about the product?
The reporting features of Smartsheet are an excellent way to digest information; automate communications and updates to various collaborators; and give visibility to those who may not need full access to the parent smartsheet.
I also find the export function to Excel to be useful, for those who are getting used to the capabilities of Smartsheet, though you can filter, create formulas and rules in Smartsheet directly.
You can even trigger automatic emails and actions - it is much better than Excel or Google Sheets. Very intuitive as well.

What do you dislike about the product?
Different licence options and commercial realities can mean that some team members have to be the gatekeepers of certain changes and edits that would preferably happen without their involvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We work on a diverse and complex publishing portfolio, requiring many teams from Product, Marketing, Inventory, Operations (the list goes on) to be able to understand the pipeline, schedule and associated data in different ways as it relates to their role. With smartsheet we can have our frontlist tailored to different views, in a way where changes can be made by multiple owners to reflect different actions that may be happening simultaneously.
Great for scheduling and interactive working, but can be overwhelming
What do you like best about the product?
I really like that it allows for immediate updates and concurent use, it is rarely buggy and the scheduling function is great (I love the predecesors option). I like how customizable it is and the highlighting changes feature is a god send.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a bit overwhelming due to the many options. I personally like this, but if compared to something like Monday's which simlifies scheduling a lot more, it can be difficult to use without training and offputting to people not used to using spreadsheets for scheduling purposes.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having oversight over an entirely product development schedule that involves multiple different departments, that everyone can edit and changes to timelines are immediately applied to the whole schedule is incredibly helpful to collaboration and time management.
It is also good for efficient assignment of tasks while also acting as a record of activities, especially if tasks are being requested by multiple people.
The template/shell function saves a lot of time and helps retain information and knowledge throughout personel turn over.

I like the below.

What do you dislike about the product?
I wish to use smartsheet as ticketing tool like (sales force, financial force, service now). Currentky it does not give that ability.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I run a project management team of multiple project managers from different countries. Smartsheet has made it easy for me to collaborate. Run the dashboards and reports.
Couldn't function without it!
What do you like best about the product?
The convenience of being able to share sheets with colleagues and be able to all work in one place together, it's incredibly convenient to have it all online in one space and not have to worry about having access to the most up to date version of an offline spreadsheet.
What do you dislike about the product?
Very niche, but it would be great if you could edit linked cells from other sheets and that they would update in the orignal Smartsheet. Personally I have a sheet that pulls in information and data from multiple different sheets, so without going into those separate sheets, I cannot update those fields in one clean sweep.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Smartsheet means that you never have to worry about having the most up-to-date version of an offline excel sheet, particularly if it's a shared sheet -- which in the business I work in, they very much are.
