Solves many small business problems; tricky to scale
What do you like best about the product?
It's really easy to get started with Gantt project planning, or basic automation of business processes.
New users find it very easy to set up point and click automations to request reviews, automatically apply date stamps, or alert on change.

What do you dislike about the product?
Every integration (Jira, database, etc) is a paid extra, with a flat fee rather than cost based on user count - these may be small cost for larger orgs but for small orgs it doesn't make sense.
Sheets do not autosave, and there is no live collaboration like you might expect from most cloud tools.
Sheets can reference other sheets, but only as much as they might in Excel - and with less functionality in most cases.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Smartsheet for initial project scoping and planning, as an approachable Gantt tool.
We have also automated a basic CRM, as a small consultancy we've handled a good set of our initial requirements.
There are limitations stopping us from significantly scaling either of these use cases, but it allowed us to quickly solve each problem for our small business without complex selection and implementation.

Great for Teams in multiple locations
What do you like best about the product?
I love that you the product can be accessed from anywhere. I also love that you can see a history on every cell. You can see who made a change and when. This is very helpful when you have mutliple people using the same sheets
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the search feature doesnt not find items it should. I have to try and search multiple ways to find what I am looking for within the sheets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows our team to collborate and work together even though we arent located in the same place. It is also nice that several people can be working on one sheet at the same time

What do you like best about the product?
The most help for things about smarthsheet is that it's easy to use and share the work effectivly. Favorite thing is that triggers can be set-up and make getting task done.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much just wish I can have more info on how to solve issues with ongoing logs not just standard layouts. More one on one support for trouble shooting. but other than that

when from Excel spreadsheets to all kinds of logs share info as we work on it. Online makes it awesome, saving room on a drive and reduces the risk of loosing all the input info

it's accesible, easily sharable, supports email automation and has a lot of templates that are working for me

The reporing functionliaty is lacking - I tried creating several reports for basic BI but the functionliaty is just not there even compared to excel

I've been using smartsheet for nearly a decade. It's simplicity of creating Gnatt charts, collaboration both internally and externally, and the ability to upload files, have been paramount in operational success!

I wish there was abetter way to format like a traditional spreadsheet

flexibility in creating sheets, reminders and workflow
What do you dislike about the product?
Not Smartsheet's fault, but we have to continually justify Smartsheet over Google forms/docs, SharePoint and other tools that are free or we already own. Smarsheet wins every time.

We use Smartsheet to track HR onboarding, HR new hire orientation, grant reporting, maintenance requests, Amazon purchase requests, all with workflow and reminders.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is very user-friendly. Smartsheet is a great aid for monitoring and ensuring compliance applications with due dates and expirations dates. Smartsheet contacts its users on a frequent basis with learning guides and courses for continuous improvement.
What do you dislike about the product?
Currently, there are no dislikes with Smartsheet. Once the you learn the formatting and formulas, Smartsheet is a modern version of Excel spreadsheet for some applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps solve due dates and expiration dates with notifications for the workplace. The formatting and formulas help maintain compliance with equipment, tasks, and monitoring events.
Its very helpful in staying connected within different departments and outside sources
What do you like best about the product?
We use smartsheets at my job for many reasons, but the main one is to share feedback to outside vendors, within our departments. All our sites (convinience stores) have access to smartsheet, they alert us when they are low in stock on certain merchandise and when there are issues or complaints regarding Vendors. All our vendors also have access and they get to update the smartsheet and let us knwo how they fixed the issue, and when they will be making a delivery. I also use smartsheets to update my team on certain subjects such as payments, or contact list. We all needt o be aware of this inforamtion, I udpate it and they get to look at it whenver they want.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that smartsheet is not very much lik Excel. There are a few things I cant ever do and it gets frustrating. for example something simple as copy and past a email address, its not possible with smartsheet and it can be very frustrating.

Staying connected is a big problem I believe in any industry, smartsheets helps us get feedback and letting everyone knwo directly what information we need to get to them.
