Smartsheet review for project management
What do you like best about the product?
1. Project Management Coordination
When comparing Smartsheet to a tool like ClickUp, Smartsheet is far better with regards to Project Management activities. The ability to import and export to various formats without breaking the initial project integrity is excellent.
2. Linking Teams
Currently I work with a very small team, however the ability to delegate tasks/items to various stakeholders is great. It would be pleasant if I was able to create "phantom" team members, i.e. assign tasks to someone outside my organisation and be able to view all the tasks assigned to that person in a report, don't believe that's possible at present.
3. Automatic Reports
This feature is brilliant, and can't be utilized as easily on any competitor platform.

What do you dislike about the product?
1. Pro Plan
I do wish the Pro plan had the "Document Builder" functionality. I pay for Smartsheet out of my own personal capacity, and do not wish to pay for 3x members. If there was an option to add this function to one of the lower plans with some price variance obviously, the same goes with "Forms with Conditional Logic".
2. General UI
I do like the folder structure format, but it would be pleasant if I could view my work in a thumbnail or mosaic format (more particularly reports) to get a wholistic view of a project without having to click into each report.

What do you like best about the product?
Whatever you think is not an ability a software has, smartsheet can do it
What do you dislike about the product?
The downsides would be having to subscribe for the calendar app and other features as an add on. Many businessess rely on calendar functions but some arent a big enough business to allocate funds for these add ons and so do not get the best out of smartsheet.

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate the following features of Smartsheet:
It is user friendly, cloud based - real time, live documents, it can be shared with external parties and it's dashboards are great.

What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it could link easily to platforms such as Excel on Onedrive. It does not include some excel features, like being able to past images directly into a sheet. I often struggle to get other external parties to engage with the software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is great at keeping track of tasks and providing an overview of project progress. Dashboards also provide a snapshot overview which can be used to inform clients, project teams and to help inform managment decisions.
Great tool for collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is visually engaging, clear, and easy to use. Its excellent at simplifying team collaboration on a schedule. Its auto Gantt chart feature is also a handy time saver.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have found some limitations with the dependencies function and have had the odd bug with dates resetting to strange dates without obvious reason. However, this has been a fairly simple issue to rectify.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We found using a spreadsheet as a team was somewhat limiting when we were trying to set up and work on as a team. Smartsheet simplifies this process and has helped speed up set up time and assist all team members to engage with the schedule.
We could not operate to the degree we do now without Smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to customise projects in a framework that makes reporting, resourcing and budgeting so easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
(Probably my knowledge level)... although As we evolve and make improvements to project templates, particularly to allow for broader reporting, we cannot retrofit older projects easily to accomodate the same reporting data. i.e. inserting new tasks on templates, cannot be achieved on mass with existing projects using the same template. Not a huge issue but would be usefull to be able to apply a single fix to multiple projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Resource and Task management. Dashboards are a godsend. Our projects movew swiftly and effectively with the Dashboards providing each team or individual with their tasks clearly prioritised and timed.
The esiest way to collect and transmit data
What do you like best about the product?
The user management is wonderful. We can add different users to the sheets to collaborate. We can also determine the access level of each of them. After that, it becomes especially easy to collaborate on small and large projects. Information is trasmitted quickly without interruptions, which creates an efficient workflow.
And everything is backed up in the cloud, so we don't have to worry about saving information.

What do you dislike about the product?
It's expensive software, especially in large workgroups. Maybe, some small companies can't pay it. However, I've found value in each feature, so I don't see it as really bad.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We save a lot of time on daily tasks. It's easy to send a notification that a task was completed through Smartsheet, so the work team communicates better without as many meetings.

An Ideal Tool for Tracking and Reminders
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing about smart sheet is the ability to set automated reminders. My company has tasks that reoccur every year and the automated reminders allow me to update once a year and set reminders to go to me or my colleagues, then forget about it without having to rely on my memory and manual emails.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think Smartsheet has enough templates. I've searched for specific templates before such as a milestone chart and been unable to find what I want. You can create your own, but it's not always super user friendly to figure out how to build something more than a simple sheet or Gannt chart.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a project manager, it can be difficult to keep track of all of those tasks that are ongoing or recurring. I love being able to build task managers, project plans, and calendars within Smartsheet where I can automate reminders or other actions. For example, I have conditional formatting set up that reminds me when a due date has passed and a task needs updated. It keeps me organized and keeps things from slipping through the cracks!
Brilliant software
What do you like best about the product?
I love that as a team we can communicate easily though the option to share and also the ability to send lines to others if required. This helps to make my business more efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
THere are automations that we wish we could do to speed up certain processes.. We ahev found work arounds which are managable, however a better selcetion in automations would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This allows us to share work that has been completed and also still needs doing so that as a collective the team know where we are with each project that we have.

What do you like best about the product?
The platform is relatively easy to use. It as a wide variety of funtions, but it takes relatively little time to learn how to use them. Moreover, we don't need to know them all to work efficiently. And there is also a lot of material available to learn.
It is easy to work in large groups because information is shared quickly. In this way, we all have feedback on actual progress.

What do you dislike about the product?
The licenses are quite expensive for little companies. There are indeed several levels of licenses, but it becomes complicated for each worker to have their own license.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a large working group. Smartsheet serves as a platform to collect and provide relevant information quickly.

A good way to boost productivity
What do you like best about the product?
I am impressed by the power of Smartsheet. I can seamlessly manage multiple projects with numerous instances and matrices. It's perfect for working simultaneously without worries. The default view is good, but the Gantt view is fantastic. It's perfect because I can see the project's progress in detail without leaving the app.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the integrations could be better. The software needs better integrations, especially with cloud storage. However, it's a pretty specific detail and I like it.

Task automation is the feature I use the most. It saves me a lot of time because it does the work for me.
The progress tracking is also excellent. The software is a central dashboard for each of our projects.
