What do you like best about the product?
Ease if sharing / visibility on projecta throughout an organization. It brings data out of buried file folders and through dashboards enables visibilty needed to break down silos between departments and enable collaboration
What do you dislike about the product?
Sheet limits on number of formulas and cell references are extremely low. Forces use of Excel for certain tasks, which is counterproductive to Smartsheets goals. Additionally, Excel is still far superior for creating charts and reports.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management, shipping calendar, installation calendar, form submittals and approvals, automated emails, change order tracking, dashboards for running departments and meetings.
Solutions, Solutions, Everywhere
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has become my every day work companion. I love how intuitive the system is; it helps me find solutions to problems as they arise. My favorite aspect is how easy the forms make data collection. External users are able to complete a simple form that sets off a robust series of triggers that allow my team to work quickly and communicate effectively.
What do you dislike about the product?
When I consider downfalls to Smartsheet, I fall short. The only downsides I can think of stem from company imposed limitations on certain features, which are not Smartsheet shortcomings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My company was accepting paper contracts in 2024 because we didn't have any sort of project management software. Smartsheet allowed me to build a project management system robust enough to move our bids and contracts to the digital age. Now we use it for internal requests as well as external and we have streamlined a multitude of processes.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has been one of the most transformative tools in my professional journey. As someone who juggles multiple projects and deadlines, I needed a platform that could do more than just store data—it had to help me stay organized, track productivity, and manage time effectively. Smartsheet delivered on all fronts.
What do you dislike about the product?
While it looks like a spreadsheet, Smartsheet has many advanced features that can be overwhelming at first. If you're used to Excel or simpler tools, it might take time to get comfortable with formulas, automation, and views.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
-Smartsheet provides real-time dashboards, Gantt charts, and status reports that give you and your team a clear view of where things stand—reducing the need for constant check-ins or status meetings.
-With automated reminders, task assignments, and deadline tracking, Smartsheet helps you stay on top of your schedule and ensures nothing falls through the cracks.

Infinitely useful, easy to use, massive range of support / training - indispensable!
What do you like best about the product?
Connectivity between different sheets makes Smartsheet an invaluable tool for governance of complex programmes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The features within dashboard creation are still very limited - I’d like to see more options for layout, widget types, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enabling project managers to have their own project plan, with associated critical path, but automatically feeding key milestone dates into a higher level governance tracking sheet - this enables the project managers to focus on what is important to them whilst simultaneously supporting the programme manager is overall visibility of the full programme.

We are using smartsheet for project management since last 4-5 years and are very happy with it

forms, cards and dashboards are very nice features we are using regularly in our project, integration with SQL is also one of the best one, Supporting the customer using smartsheet forms is very useful.

improvement in conditional format based on cell, copy formula from one cell to another is not easy

A few things we love about smartsheet at my company
1. easy learning curve from Excel but way more capability
2. the real-time collaboration is best-in-class for project management including the various ways of tracking who updated what when
3. The workflow automation is relatively easy and has been helpful for some of our core processes, including some subject to audit and SOX

What do you dislike about the product?
Our main complaint is that we don't like the new license pricing model which took away free internal collaborators without giving a very significant discount to the already relatively high license costs. It would be much more optimal obviously to have way more free collaborators to capture the value of the tool, but we can't justify buying a license for more than a fraction of our population that would like to use it a little bit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Primarily it's filling the need of having a cloud-based collaboration tool for major cross-functional program management.
Simple Yet Powerful - Good Value for the Functionality Provided
What do you like best about the product?
The best things I like about Smartsheet are -
I can be quickly productive and easily implement a new project, even with some advanced functionality, due to its intuitive nature.
Also, we are not power users of Smartsheet, but it's inexpensive enough that I don't feel we have to use every bit of functionality to get value from it.
It is also powerful enough that I'm not worried about running out of functionality when I need more from it.

What do you dislike about the product?
I don't really have any particular things I dislike about Smartsheet at this time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to easily set up custom workflow projects for tracking and collaborate between staff. We use it at times as a simple custom CRM and all the way through tracking complex software implementations including IF/THEN flows.
Features are lacking or unintuitive
What do you like best about the product?
Collaboration features are great and easy to implement. I like that it notifies others when things have been updated or when that person is referenced. I also like the ability to connect different cells via formulas.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a better way to organize by project name besides what is essentially a large excel style list. I would like to have each project as it's own stand alone page which is a part a big list of project and when i click on that "project page" it would have all relevant information for that project in it such as: documents, comments, tasks, contact info, etc. The other thing what I refer to as "friction", in other words is it easy for me to jump in and add things or is it tedious and from my experience it tends to be more tedious. One small example would be when i want to insert a new row there is a keyboard shortcut for inserting one above but i often need one below and there isn't one for that.

It is essentially functioning as my teams collaborative checklist for all our projects and tasks.
lots of options, lots to learn but is pretty user friendly

Hyper links are great. I love the ways you can sort the sheet for the specific info needed
What do you dislike about the product?
I have never really found a way to lock the sheet. I have been able to make reports but someone always sorts the main sheet.
