Smooth Operation
What do you like best about the product?
I like the easy, intuitive key commands and shortcuts that smart sheet uses for building out the details of the project. I like the collaborative aspect of the software that allows multiple users to see and work on the same project at the same time, and that there is timely feedback that someone else is editing the details. I like that there is a way to send an update timeline to the shareholders. I like the different ways of color coding users, and statuses, and conditional formatting.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it's hard to fit gantt charts and all the columns next to it on the same screen. I haven't yet explored any other options, but I do like that there is ability to see details and gantt chart next to each other. Gannt Chart navigation is basic, or at least my usability of it is basic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a very dynamic work setup. We are an R&D design team. Our section of the group is the bottle-neck as we are the service providers (prototypes and test data) for the design engineers. Every day, or every hour could change the projects we are working on, the priorities are determined by all shareholders collaborating, the projects and tasks come from six different groups in three departments. And the items we work on are specific requests from customers and/or the first time something is available to the market, so timing is everything. We are able to quickly setup the details we use to track, we are able to choose our resolution (days, weeks, hours) of time per task, we are able to demonstrate overlapping tasks and where the resources are, and are able to send out updates anytime (or at least ask for feedback about the schedule and others can access the data whereever they are at). we're able to keep track of post-task details as well as we wrap up and notify at the milestones what has been accomplished.
Smartsheet Offers Organization, Structure and Team Inclusiveness
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful tools for me in the workplace is the ability to organize and structure reports and share them in real time. In using a ton of software, smartsheet has been one of the best among competitors for me.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes learning it is difficult when most users do not know all that smartsheet is capable of. Continue offering traning and seeing what users need in utilizing Smartsheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to track in real time and share information on ongoing inventory, employee personnel information and keeping accurate reports regarding work processes and procedures.
Great Tool
What do you like best about the product?
It allows me to plan schedule and remind my staff of the various projects and priorities throughout our organzation. Its simple to use and intergrates with outlook.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dont have any downsides. I am most comfortable with it. I tried other project manager apps and this was the best one for my needs and keeping eveything together.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its solving the hundreds of projects that have to be coordinated throughout the year. It also allows me to store and keep various documents from month to month, year to year.
Smartsheet--Excel on Steroids
What do you like best about the product?
The creation and linking of different sheets. The automated email reminders when a task is do or something needs to be approved. The ease of formula creation. The ability to quickly and easily share information through dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
With some sophisticated and complicated automation, creating a workflow or formula to attain the end goal is not possible. It has to be submitted as an improvement and sometimes it has been submitted and it still has not been implemented years after the initial request.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With workflows that impact multiple departments, I am able to create workflows and alerts to make sure the workflow continues to flow and there is not a major stop in the workflow. Being able to transparently share projects and project status through interactive dashboards.
SmartSheet - A Solid Project Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to tier projects within a category using indentation - I also like that you can easily download an excel document. The Dashboard also allows you for quick access.
What do you dislike about the product?
- Formatting for excel downlaod sometimes does not translate

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- SmartSheet allows our teams to collaborate on cross-departmental projects easily, and once you become familiar with the platform it becomes fairly intuitive.
Project Manager
What do you like best about the product?
Overall Smartsheet is extremely helpful for a project management and it simplifying the process of tracking tasks, boosting productivity, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the only complaint that I have about Smartsheet's is that if the spreadsheet is a very large, the page can be slightly lag.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is extremely helpful for me as a project management because it helps me manage multiply projects simultaneously by simplifying the tracking process. Smartsheet provides a wide range of customization options to tailor the smartsheet to fit my specific requirements.
Real life solution to real life challenges
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has been an amazing and instrumental tool. From the standard capabilties and managing day to day communications and interactions within a spreadsheet or dashboard to more complex solutioning. We had a prime example of Smartsheet ease of use and implementation when one of our main systems was rendered unusable. Within 48 hours of notification we were able to streamline that operation and roll out the solution to more than 5K employees. I really can't speak highly enough about how much of an impact that made on us and on each of those employees.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Smartsheet provides decent reporting and analytics, I would not call it robust. It would be even better if we were able to see two way communications between Smartsheet and some of the other tools we use in the Microsoft relm. As it is, there are workarounds yet some of these render the tool rather clunky at best. Beyond that I think there is a fairly steep learning curve for users who wish to perform more than the basic functions within the tool
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has solved many challenges over the past several years. The primary benefit we are seeing from the partnership is within project management and the ability to collaborate with users across the globe. Rather than being dependent on disparate systems or emails which may get lost in translation so to speak, we have an intuitive solution that allows our teams to collaborate on projects real time. From an executive and stakeholder management perspective we make use of App and dashboard funcationality which allows us to institute a row level security structure and control the stream of information cascaded to end users in various capacities.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is very user friendly and can be shared with a number of users, making project management across multiple teams very streamlined. I like that you can make a Report sheet to simplify your work without affecting the master sheet. I also appreciate that you can set up portals that populate a master sheet (like questionnaires).
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel like there are some features that would be nice to have (but not necessary) to make organization even easier. It would be nice to be able to attach files or add photos to certain cells compared to attaching it to the line.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps collaboration across teams very easy, our company has large teams that need to work together seamlessly and Smartsheet helps to keep us organized and notify the contacts we need feedback from.
