Fantastic Organizational Platform
What do you like best about the product?
It helps us to track action items and keep separate notes on updates as the project progresses.
What do you dislike about the product?
Everyone involved in the project requires a license to take advantage of all of the Smarsheet features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We call it a spreadsheet on steroids. It allows us to organize like a spreadsheet but take advantage of all of the additional features.
Best tool for project managers
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Smartsheet for over five years, and I can say is the best tool for project managers.
The best things for me:
- Automation: excels at streamlining and automatization workflows, this allows us to have less human error and also saves time by reducing manual work such as approvals, notifications, and requests.
- Visualization: Smartsheet Dashboards are a great tool to interact with all stakeholders and have one source of truth. We no longer have to create PowerPoint for status updates and real-time information allows us to make decisions faster.
- Collaboration: We can all work on the project in real-time, From uploading documents to tagging teammates and having real-time conversations we have reduced the number of emails. Setting up reminders for follow-ups alleviates project managers' manual work.
The best things for me:

Downside about Smartsheet:
- Learning curve: With so many features and capabilities the learning curve is steep. Have an overall course with key capabilities.
- Limited Offline: When working remotely or in low-connectivity areas is hard to work.

Almost fantastic
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet allows for a ton of amazing data operations, I love the variety of templates and features. It's very user friendly and being able to visualize data in reports and dashboards is very helpful, not to mention multiple views in the data sheet itself.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no time operations. In calendar view, all tasks are all day. There is no way to indicate when something should start and stop, if it's in the morning or the evening, etc. it's fate time functions leave so much to be desired.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to compile information from multiple sources into one streamlined document and then run reports off of it as needed. I am able to link it to power automate to further utilize my data.
Use of Smartsheet for data storage and tracking
What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoy the option to assign tasks to individuals using the available contact directory option. I also really enjoy the enormous amount of options to organize your data with groupings, drop down menus, and highly selective filters.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found much that I disike on smartsheets. One thing I am not a fan of is it can get glitchy sometimes when too many items are transported into a file. I also think that there could be more options ofr grouping and drop down menus to futher organize one's data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is solving the way our team organizes and displays certain data that our company produces. It is extremly helpful in designating certain tasks to specifc groups of our team, providing helpful due dates and notifications for these items.It helps us as a team to stay orgnaized with these tasks so there is no overlap in work being done.
Great addition for project management.
What do you like best about the product?
I like how user-friendly that Smartsheets is. If you are trying to create formulas or use automation tools, it gives you direction which is extremely helpful. This has helped me to use Smartsheets to its fill ability.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a feature that labeled the columns by their letter, along with their column name (A, B, C...), I also wish that you were able to copy over the "Generate Documents PDF Autofill" function when copying a sheet, so you don't have to relink each fillable box. The cell limit is also very low.

Its helping is track required data that needs to be complete before a deadline.
Overall a Decent Experience with Smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is being really useful for midlle level projects, with smaller complexity. I have deployed this tool to almost 40 projects for now and the users are really happy as this is an alternative to Excel.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a lot of limitations based on every requirment you have, every functionallity that the smartsheet provides has a limitation/breaking point where it cant do things beyond that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I give solutions for project managers, set up the workspace as per the requirments and the need. I also suggest the best ways to opt, for deploying the Project so they can use smartsheet as a powertool for their project.
Meeting Unique Needs for Data Keeping and Tracking
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to connect sheets together into reports is extremely helpful. Also, I have been able to use formulas to refer to sheets when trying to collect data on specific needs when a report isn't the right option.
What do you dislike about the product?
One area that is least helpful is when sharing a report with employees, you have to provide them access to the source sheet as well. When there is confidential information the source sheet, this doesn't work well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collecting data from multiple source sheets is extremely helpful! The use of formulas but also reports has been a huge time saver and allows us to analyze data on a much deeper level.
Implemented Smartsheet for our Project Management software
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has created a source of truth for our project mangement activities. We can follow a project from intake through to completion and have detailed tracking, and excellent reporting capabilities for our executive leadership. It gives us incredible flexibility and visibility into our goals as a department. Also, the experience we had with our solution architects to build our environment was fantastic!
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet can be complicated to use for some users, so onboarding can take some time and you will need to make sure the group has an appropriate level of buy in to be motivated to learn the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We previously did not have a single resource that housed all of our project documentation and the reporting capabilities of the previous software we used was lacking. Smartsheet gives us the ability to link out out to/house documentation, send automated reminders, complie all metrics in a dashboard for our executives to review latest updates, schedule variance, budget tracking, etc. It creates a one stop shop for all in flight projects at our organization with clear visability on the health of each project. The ability to keep all documentation in one place gives us incredible benefits for accessing historical data to help us with future projects, and it gives us better metrics to base forecasting on. The reporting capabilities has given us more credibility with leadership and allows the team to keep an eye on progress and our success as a department.
Great forms
What do you like best about the product?
I use the forms in Smartsheet to make it easy for people to register for various programs. The data goes right into an Excel spreadsheet which then makes it easy to sort the data and to also do things like print name badges or track dietary restrictions when we order meals.
What do you dislike about the product?
I probably need more training on Smartsheet, but it would be helpful to be able to link some of the smartsheets we have created to one another.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly keeping track of the registrants for various events, but we are also using it for workflow approvals as grant requests come in. This has made it more streamlined to track the approval process and keep everyone informed.
Most useful tool for tracking project progress and timings
What do you like best about the product?
With constantly changing project variables, I appreciate the ability to easily shift milestones and create dependencies so that details are automatically updated
What do you dislike about the product?
As with any tool, adoption can be the most challenging. This tool works best when everyone is on board and checks/updates it frequently. However, the export features are a useful fall back for those who need other formats.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool is most helpful to my team when managing project timelines, team resources and managing stakeholder expectations around shifting requirements, needs and timing.
