Smartsheet is a concise and convenient software
What do you like best about the product?
How it is convenient to have all your voluminous data in one sheet without having to transfer to other sheets. It is easy to have your forms be in data format once they have been submitted by the users. The day-to-day use of smartsheet has made handling of data very easy to understand. For organizations integrating with external systems or using complex automation, some initial configuration effort is required but manageable with technical support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing, I find all the features of smartsheet very helpful in day-to-day operations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet enables real-time collaboration through shared sheets, allowing teams to comment, upload documents, and assign tasks. This breaks down silos and streamlines communication. This minimizes the need for back and forth email communications which can sometimes be overlooked and forgotten. With Smartsheet, the data required is now in one centralized software.

What do you like best about the product?
First, I like its Grid and Sheet-Based Interface. As it offers a familiar spreadsheet-like interface, but it's far more dynamic. This familiarity makes it easy for me to navigate it despite its advanced capabilities. Second, I really appreciate its automation capabilities as it makes the work easier and things more efficient. Like for example in my task, there’s a lot of moving and copying rows that is needed and automations make that easy. Third, I love that it have features like Reports and Dashboard that is important on my end for Clients presentations and for distributing informations on their side.
What do you dislike about the product?
In all honesty despite its simple and basic interface, I found it hard to navigate at first, most importantly the side of creating formulas. There’s a tool called generate formula but it doesn’t help most of the time that I need to use another AI tool to correct my formula and voila it worked! Would be fun to have quick shortcuts within the sheet for basic formula guidance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Most importantly it helped us streamlined are tasks. It helped in work management, within the team and outside the team. Which saves a lot of time and effort.
Smart Sheet is how our team stays organized.
What do you like best about the product?
Making templates is user friendly, especially when there is a time crunch with a project deadline.

Some files just seem to get lost with the layout.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Smartsheet is how easy it is to use and implement across our team. The familiar spreadsheet-style interface made onboarding quick, and we use it daily to manage tasks, timelines, and team collaboration. It offers a wide range of features—from Gantt charts and automated workflows to dashboards and reporting—that help us stay organized and efficient. Integration with tools like Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Slack has been seamless, allowing us to connect Smartsheet with our existing systems. Additionally, their customer support is responsive and helpful, making setup and troubleshooting straightforward.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Smartsheet is that it can become slow when working with large sheets or complex formulas. Some of the more advanced features, like cross-sheet references and reporting, have a steeper learning curve and can be time-consuming to set up. Also, certain useful capabilities are only available on higher-tier plans, which can be limiting for smaller teams or departments with tighter budgets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is helping us solve several key challenges, especially around project visibility, task tracking, and team coordination. Before using it, we struggled with scattered information and manual follow-ups. Now, we can centralize all project details, assign tasks, set deadlines, and monitor progress in real time. The automation features reduce repetitive tasks like sending reminders or status updates, which saves time and increases efficiency. Overall, it's improved communication, accountability, and helped us deliver projects more consistently and on schedule.
Smartsheet Was the Best . . .
What do you like best about the product?
It is a very powerful, collaboration tool that is easy to use. Smartsheet has always been very dedicated to its user community and is very active in continuously improving its product with enhancements that we request. A year ago, I would have said another strength of Smartsheet was its licensing model, which only charged for users that actually created sheets and other objects. Collaborators (viewers, editors and commenters) were able to use Smartsheet for free. This is all changing since they have been purchased by an investment firm and you can see the shift to more revenue focus vs. user focus.
What do you dislike about the product?
The future of Smartsheet remains to be seen with its purchase by investors and the move to restructure its licensing model. It's pretty rough when your licensing fees literally double or triple overnight. It might have been better to create a middle tier that charged a nominal fee for collaborators instead of switching from no charge to a full seat license. One of the main advantage Smartsheet used to have over its competitors was its price point, but that advantage is now gone and I can see that many organizations may be re-examining their use of Smartsheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a powerful collaboration tool that enables both internal and external teams to interact seamlessly and in real time. Many of my projects involve implementation partners outside our organization and Smartsheet helps manage those project plans and schedules.
Amazing Project Tracking Tool
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to track projects and collaborate in real-time, especially virtually (with so much work happening remotely these days). The fact that it is fairly intuitive and you can assign tasks and set up reminders.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it was a bit more intuitive to set up reminder emails or notifications. The setup tool is a bit clunky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to track shared tasks accross multiple projects with colleagues who work in various states across the country.
User friendly and simple to use
What do you like best about the product?
The collaboration aspect - where others in my team can also update my Smartsheet plans, whist also restricting access to others such as clients, to be view only.

I wish I was able to add different styling to specific words within the same cell for e.g. if putting a list of assets into a cell, I may wish to make the subhead bold, or I may with to put a specific asset in red font, to call it out for a specific reason

Breaking down complex projects, and making it easier to plan how to deliver

One is that if I want to search which sheet I want to open, the search option is not there.

Good product for those willing to invest
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the amount of customization and automation within their systems. The ability to autofire emails based on the data in the sheets was something that speed up our department output quite a bit. I liked the amount of automation available within the system but there is a steep learning curve with it. When integrating into our systems we worked with a rep at the company and it was relatively easy. The ease of use within the program for non technical users was easy to follow as it is sheets based, we leveraged the forms to sheets options to make it even easier for end users to insert data. As a company who uses this daily it is worth the time to look into the features of the product and make sure you get your moneys worth.
What do you dislike about the product?
We felt that the customer support access was a hurdle with this software. Our package came with a certain number of teaching hours but it was next to impossible to get an appointment to utilize the time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping to keep data flowing and allowing a location to store this information to review later for any issues or questions.
