Smartsheets is a helpful way to collect and organize large amounts of data.

What do you like best about the product?
It is a great tool for consolidating and sorting through data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the different smart sheets don't talk to each other so the data can be duplicated or repeated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are currently using smartsheet to consolidate our sales contacts under one umbrella. Basically, all of our sales team logs customers (active and potential) and documents relevant data.

Product that does what it says but with shady licensing models and high costs

  • June 20, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It has the features that users need for project management.
What do you dislike about the product?
Billing and licensing is all over the place. Their new license model was released half baked and it confusing to understand without talking to several reps.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has dynamic sheets that allow for easy to use project management and collaboration features. Our users seem to have experience with it in the industry and it works well for their use cases.

Works well, but a little expensive

  • June 20, 2025

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet works really well for us and it houses some important data showing liability with the ability to check the cell history.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had some issues getting our implementation completed fully at the start, but it's working well now. Otherwise, it's a little expensive, and has a bit of a lag. With Google Sheet, you can watch people edit in real time, but with SmartSheet, you have to make sure to save regularly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storing our data and showing who has made edits. It also works well to move rows to another sheet once you have completed the work.

Expensive, but a very good system

What do you like best about the product?
The range of options, and the email updates
What do you dislike about the product?
It is super expensive. I would upgrade if I could, but it is just so expensive, so we make do with the lower priced plans.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralized location for everyone to access. Email updates when somthing is changed, so that other can take action as result of the change.

Smartsheet is backbone of my workflows, from auto reminders to managing complex approvals.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Smartsheet is its ability to combine traditional spreadsheet functionality with robust automation, permissions control, and workflow logic.

For me, the most helpful feature is how easily I can build conditional automations, such as sending reminders, tracking status changes, and notifying specific contacts based on dropdown or checkbox selections. It allows me to streamline complex processes like holiday authorisations, vehicle bookings, and project status tracking without needing separate systems or constant manual input.

The biggest upside is how scalable and customisable it is. With formulas, helper columns, and cross-sheet references, I can create tailored solutions for nearly any operational challenge. It’s central to how I manage processes across teams while keeping everything transparent and traceable.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Smartsheet is that some genuinely useful features feel just out of reach, either buried behind more expensive tiers or requiring clunky workarounds.

The least helpful aspect is the inconsistency across features, for example, conditional formatting doesn’t carry over to reports, dashboard widgets are a bit limited, and automations can feel overly rigid without helper columns. Some of that might be down to our current subscription level, but it still creates friction when trying to build truly seamless workflows.

A key downside is that while Smartsheet is incredibly powerful, unlocking that power takes time, testing, and quite a lot of trial and error. The learning curve can be steep, especially if you're trying to get clever with cross-sheet formulas or permissions without breaking things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is solving several operational headaches for me, from managing approvals and deadlines to automating reminders and tracking progress across multiple teams.

It’s helping me reduce manual admin by automating routine tasks like sending follow-up emails, updating statuses, and notifying the right people when something changes. It keeps all our data in one place, so I’m not chasing down updates or juggling spreadsheets and inboxes.

The biggest benefit is visibility, I can see at a glance where things are stuck, what’s overdue, and what needs my attention. It’s also flexible enough that I can build tailored solutions for different departments or projects without needing developers or extra software. It saves time, increases accountability, and gives me the control to keep everything running smoothly.

An honest reflection into the daily use of SmartSheet

  • June 20, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has been a really effective tool for managing complex projects and integrations. I appreciate how easy it is to customize dashboards and sheets to match our specific workflows — especially for tracking dependencies, milestones, and stakeholder responsibilities. The ability to collaborate in real-time with internal and external teams is a major plus, and having automated alerts, status symbols, and Gantt views all in one place makes updates clear and efficient. The integration with other platforms like Google Drive and Microsoft 365 also helps streamline documentation and file access. Overall, it gives a great visual overview while still allowing for granular control when needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Smartsheet is powerful, there are a few areas that could be smoother. For example, the interface can feel a little clunky at times, especially when working with larger or more complex sheets — it’s not always as fast or intuitive as I’d like. Some advanced dashboard features or custom reporting still require workarounds, and occasionally the learning curve for new users can be steep. That said, I can see the platform is constantly evolving, and I do appreciate the frequent updates and responsiveness to feedback. It’s definitely getting better with time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps us manage multiple complex projects in one place, keeping task ownership, timelines, and dependencies clearly visible to all stakeholders. It’s particularly useful for integration projects where real-time updates, status dashboards, and cross-team collaboration are essential. The automation features also reduce manual follow-ups, which saves time and improves accountability.

Smartsheets is generally an easy to use tool with lots of configuration options.

  • June 20, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The actual sheets in Smartsheet are easy to use if you are familiar with using other sheets in projects, such as excel.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside of Smartsheets is trying to monitor multiple projects in a program is not intuitive or easy, and although you can do your own configuration for projects, this all needs to be set up before you can get going. Resource management in Smartsheets does not easily display what your resources are blocked by.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheets is providing Gantt charts for projects in the company
