Smartsheet has enhanced our productivity
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet helps organize our thoughts to help us stay productive and for tracking
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features have not been created that would help our daily functions. Tracking for when a form is opened by a user rather than just submitted would be very helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a centralized system that is consistent.
Love hate relationship with Smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Smartsheet is the automation feature, especially the ability to set up notifications. It’s incredibly useful for keeping team members informed in real time without needing to manually follow up. It helps streamline communication and keeps everyone on track.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I dislike about Smartsheet is that the DateShuttle feature stops working if you change the column title. It would be much more reliable if it used the column ID instead of the title, so changes to column names wouldn’t break the functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Smartsheet to manage the hiring and onboarding process for new employees. It helps keep HR and other relevant teams in the loop by automatically notifying them when actions are taken during each stage of the hiring process. This ensures smooth coordination, reduces delays, and keeps everyone aligned.
SmartSheet Changing the Project Game
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how customizable it is as well as having so many templates available to be able to use off the bat as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some links between data and how they are presented in a gantt chart that can be a bit more intuitive. A drag and drop to rearrange milestones would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it mainly for project management. It allows me to get a clear view all of my projects and statuses as well as providing me a gantt view for tasks and dates. New project initiations as well as task delegations are also an integral part of smartsheet for us and has provided us a dashboard to view new, open, closed projects and their on track/off-track status.
Very Useful Tool For Everyday Tasks
What do you like best about the product?
It's very user friendly and how it is able to connect data from other sources to each other.
What do you dislike about the product?
There were a few complications in the beginning of the implementation process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We no longer resort to physical copies of data; everything is now digitalized which has made the overall process a lot easier.
Smartsheet Review: A Powerful Collaboration Tool with Room to Grow
What do you like best about the product?
Familiar Excel-Like Interface with Better Collaboration:
Smartsheet feels intuitive for anyone who's comfortable using Excel. But unlike traditional spreadsheets, it shines in multi-user collaboration—multiple team members can work simultaneously without conflict, and changes are tracked effectively.
Robust Email Notifications:
The email notification system is reliable and timely, which helps ensure that team members stay up to date on assigned tasks, approvals, or approaching deadlines. It's one of the more polished features that really aids workflow.
Form Creation is Straightforward and Powerful:
The built-in form builder is a strong feature. It’s easy to set up, even for non-technical users, and it simplifies data collection, especially from external stakeholders or clients. The forms feed directly into sheets, making data handling seamless.
Flexible Formatting Options:
I personally love the cell and row formatting options in Smartsheet. They allow for clean, visually guided data representation, which makes tracking and prioritizing tasks much easier. Conditional formatting adds to the clarity and usability.

What do you dislike about the product?
Dashboards Lack Advanced Customization:
While dashboards are helpful for a high-level view, they currently feel too basic and rigid. There's limited room for dynamic or interactive visualizations. More advanced chart types, drill-down capabilities, and dynamic filtering would significantly improve this area.
Formulas and Multi-Sheet Interactions Could Be Easier:
Smartsheet supports formulas, but they're not as intuitive as Excel, especially when trying to pull data across multiple sheets. Cross-sheet references are a bit cumbersome and could benefit from a more user-friendly interface or formula helper tools.
Limited Integration with Microsoft Teams:
While Smartsheet integrates well with other platforms like Slack, a deeper integration with Microsoft Teams—especially as an external app—would really streamline communication for organizations heavily invested in the Microsoft ecosystem.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is designed to solve a key challenge that many modern teams face: managing projects, tasks, and workflows in a way that’s collaborative, structured, and doesn’t require heavy IT involvement. Traditional tools like Excel are familiar but fall short when multiple people need to work together in real time. Smartsheet fills that gap with a user-friendly, spreadsheet-like interface that supports real-time collaboration, task tracking, automated email alerts, and easy form creation for data collection. Features like customizable formatting and notifications help teams stay organized and aligned without needing to chase updates manually.
That said, Smartsheet isn’t without its limitations. The dashboards, while functional, can feel basic and lack the dynamic, interactive elements that growing teams often need for deeper insight. Working with formulas—especially across multiple sheets—can be a bit clunky, and there’s room for improvement in how intuitive that experience is. More robust integration with tools like Microsoft Teams would also enhance workflow and communication for companies deeply embedded in that ecosystem. Still, for new or mid-sized teams that need a powerful, flexible platform without the complexity of enterprise-level software, Smartsheet is a strong, reliable choice.

Smartsheet evaluation from a semi-experienced user
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has provided a good colaboration space, and a a way to complete surveys/ forms and consolidate results more effectively than other tools I have used in the past
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the tool had better import/ export capabilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's providing a better space to consolidate lists of initiatives, especcially as new project come in. It also provides a better space to update statu, and attach relevant files as the project progresses. This is as compared to excel.

Organizing my work across multiple collaborative dashboards with real-time updates from my team. It's versability within the software is certainly the reason I continue to utilize Smartsheets.
What do you dislike about the product?
Quite inconvenient when adding a chart or graph into the worksheets. Other than that, not too many flaws.

Serving as a spot to compile large sets of data
Smartsheet is a solid application with familiar interface but learning curve can be steep
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use with intuitive Excel-like interface with easy cross-collaboration features and transparency. Real-time updates with solid out-of-the-box dashboard and reporting functionalities.

Smartsheet is used to track performance against the Corporate Plan goals and to cascade project and portfolio performance tracking across the organisational layers.
